NLCTigerFan07
Per Chuck Freeby's twitter account - the Warsaw Tigers are opening next season against Dublin (OH) Coffman. Talk about a SIGNIFICANT schedule booster. I have not seen where this game will take place yet. The Shamrocks are one of the best Columbus area football programs. They regularly make the Division I playoffs and have a 46-12 record over the last 5 years, with a number of former NFLers as alumni this millienium. As a Warsaw Tiger who has transplanted himself to the Columbus Ohio area, I am excited to see how Warsaw holds up to this level of play. Wow!
NLCTigerFan07
The game will be played on Friday, August 20th at 7:30PM at Fisher Field in Warsaw. It is a one year deal. Coffman will be Warsaw's first out of state opponent since 1955 when they played Moosehart (IL).
Guest DT
Warsaw looking east for better competition. Snider, Dwenger, Homestead and Carroll would test the Tigers much more than Goshen, Wawasee, Plymouth and Northridge
Bobref
Just to add a little context, Warsaw was 8-3 last season. Dublin Coffman was 8-1 in Div. I. According to Calpreps Project a Matchup tool, on a neutral field, Coffman wins 44-13.
Guest DT
Coffman is very solid. There are 3 high schools in Dublin. Coffman, Jerome and Sciotta Coffman is the traditional football power of the 3. They are very Carmel like in their makeup and approach. Big strong lines. Hard nosed linebackers and running backs. Like to ground and pound. Always have experienced leadership at the QB position. Very well coached and disciplined football team. Warsaw will have its hands full. Great interstate matchup. Let's do more of this. Edited January 7, 2021 by DT

By and large, I think it's a different level of play. Dwenger took out Cincinnati LaSalle a few year back, but the Jaylon Smith Luers teams got it handed to them three years in a row by Columbus Harley and manhandled by Toledo Whitmer in that same time period. That being said, Kudos to Warsaw for scheduling that game. The Tigers seem committed to building their program.

NLCTigerFan07
Interesting to note - Dublin Coffman's Head Coach Mark Crabtree stepped down yesterday. He has coached for 39 years and served as the head coach at Coffman for 19 years. Crabtree ends his coaching career with a 150-47 record with the Shamrocks. https://www.10tv.com/article/sports/head-coach-of-dublin-coffman-football-team-stepping-down-after-nearly-20-years/530-d5bb8676-7c5d-45b9-91d5-4ddc383c6c4f The new head coach will be opening his Shamrock tenure in Warsaw, Indiana.
