Forum: I am going to write a blog whcih can be found at this address: http://indianahsfootball.blogspot.com/You are free to comment and it is going to be free flowing. You can agree or disagree. Today's first blog is about BCS schools and 1 day camps. I believe there are some ethical problems in the process of inviiting players to one day camps. Parents Beware. You can look at the topic title every day to see if the date has changed. The date will reflect my latest blog. Tim Adams tadams@scout.com

Scout Database Class of 2011 - Looking For Indiana's Best Football Players |

Forum:
As many of you know I am now the Indiana’s recruiting analyst for Scout.com. I have held this job for 4 months and have learned a few things about the recruiting game. All of us have agendas we push when it comes to recruiting. I see my work two fold I try to evaluate talent but where my job is different is that I write about talent at a national level. This is why I took this job to push Indiana’s recruiting envelope at a national level. I do not pretend to be the “end all expert” just one who has the vehicle to promote players across a national recruiting network.
Step 1: The Scout National Recruiting Database
My directive is that I am to keep an active and complete database of “potential” Indiana high school football players who can be considered D1 candidates. That database can be kept form high school to the pros. When I place a player into that database I am to have a complete record which includes phone numbers – e-mail – address – parent’s names. In order to do this successfully you must fill out the electronic form so I can transcribe your information into the scout database.
Coaches:
If you have a player who is going to graduate in the year 2011 and you believe he has the size standards – ability standards – and academics to make it into the scout database please send me an e-mail with the players name. In response I will send you the electronic database form for him to fill out and I will put your player into our scout database here is who we already have in the database. There may be some mistakes on these names/schools. Also many of these players have participated in the 2009 Cincinnati and Chicago Combine which is why they are listed. I need to hear from coaches first.

School cuts teachers to save it's football program |

http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=n...&id=6884949FTA:" At Independence High School in East San Jose, football is more than just a sport -- it changes lives.
That's why when the East Side Union High School District considered cutting all athletic programs in March because of a $23 million budget shortfall, parents protested.
Thursday night, the school board reaffirmed its decision to save sports, but lose 80 teachers.
"There is trauma in the organization with these cuts and so we're looking to survive," said J.Manuel Herrera, a school board member.
Sports are surviving with the help of an $800,000 insurance settlement, fundraisers, and a $200 per student athlete donation.
"We're torn because we want to say we can't afford it, but if the parents are going to fundraise, great, but they haven't done that yet," said Marisa Hanson from the Eastside Teachers Association.
Teachers are trying not to put their need for a job ahead of student programs, but in these tight economic times, they say, it's hard not to.
"When they come to me and say we're having sports, but I'm still not getting my job back, it's really hard," said Hanson.
For Independence High School's head football coach Norm Brown, it's even harder.
"I got a pink slip from the district," said Brown.
He's lost his full time teaching position, but gets to keep his coaching job, which doesn't pay the bills.
In the end, the board passed a balanced budget, but teachers are still holding out hope that at least five of the 80 will be asked to return in the fall. " I take it football changes more lives than education does? That appears to be the statement the East Side Union High School District is making here.
