Not for me to say. What I will say is I’ve known him a long time as a coach. He really cares about those kids. He gets the benefit of the doubt from me.

I don’t think anyone can recreate magic these days anywhere by having a tailback to give the ball to 30 times, a fullback with a butt an axe handle wide, and a willingness to run iso up the middle until the opponent’s mike wishes he had never been born. It’s a different game today.

Well I can tell you Columbus North would want the open week in order to play Columbus East. I highly doubt they’d join a conference where that isn’t an option.

Wasn't Pike's Coach assigned something like "K-12 Physical Education and Athletic Development Coordinator"? Essentially like a "Math Coach" or "Writing Coach" position that you see at some schools. A former teacher who now instructs the teachers of the district how to teach those subjects more effectively.

Chip has been the Superintendent of the Duneland School Corp. for about a year and a half now.

With the right coach and staff both programs could be be good. Maybe CP better job at this point for next year as they could compete more quickly. People talking about Mason...should be talking about Roy Richards as possibility as well. I don't disagree that City will have a decent team next year with some returners coming back, but to place them as a the conference leader I think is premature. Even with losing some players, Valpo and Mville will still be tough to beat. Mville has best talent in conference, Valpo has not lost in over 21 games. Chesterton has their star quarterback back I believe. And Laporte was much improved by end of year with a talented junior class. Do not count them out. They will be tough.

No, Boonville had the chance to join the SIAC and decided it was not in there best interest. Bosse is part of the EVSC, I doubt the AD of the EVSC wants to have schools in multiple conferences. Now I could see Gibson Southern wanting to join the SIAC and they would be able to compete in many sports but Bosse isn't leaving the SIAC.

WW field is named after former coach Art Sanders and our new Ath complex is named after Phillip Bowsman.

All I know is this RAY SKILLMAN must of been one whale of a coach!!!

I like the look of the conference. Roncalli and Chatard would be the annual front runners with the Lafayette schools close behind. It looks to be generally competitive overall. How many two hour road trips will and administration be willing to endure during one season. Does the risk outweigh the reward? Higher attendance overall? Cathedral doesn't seem to mind the travel if we want to look at them as a role model.
