Always remember that school districts and town/city boundaries aren't always the same. A lot of Noblesville's growth is in the city limits and the HSE school district. School boundaries are usually set by township boundaries. Not saying this is the case here, but it's worth keeping in mind. Regarding Frankfort, the Dogs would fit better in the Hoosier Heartland than the Hoosier. They'd be the doormat of the Hoosier in almost every sport.

Very True. I would say lack of inventory and the cost of buying land (I honestly don't know about the zoning laws). The Eli Lilly project and the State have driven up the price of farmland... The price they were buying the land for the Lilly project was life changing (for those with large acrerage)... Still a lot of farmers in Western Boone Co that also want to keep that land and continue to farm it.

Agreed. Using a Parks & Recreation analogy Frankfort is Pawnee, Lebanon is Eagleton.

This has been a head-scratcher to me as it seemed to bring in a little more geographic balance with the Lafayette schools on the western flank, while Marion, Muncie, and Richmond comprised the east with Kokomo, Logansport, and (to a lesser extent) Tech being in the middle. I'm not real sure how long a six-team league can survives running on the fumes of yesterday.

See, that’s the kind of deal Lamar should have. Essentially a fully-guaranteed 3 yr. deal … at which point, he can do it all over again if he wants. And he probably will, the way the salary cap is going to go up.

You’re right, with Harrison’s growth, my suggested conference additions would probably be a short-term fix that prolongs the conference for another 5-10 years. I don’t think rotating those cross-division and cross-region games would be a requirement. Harrison’s schedule could have been something like this: Roncalli Crown Point West Lafayette Lebanon Lafayette Jeff Mississinewa McCutcheon Kokomo Marion I think this would have been better than the schedule they’ve had in the current NCC. Other schools could have benefitted from the expanded conference as well, like West Lafayette. A schedule for West Side could have looked like this: Central Catholic Rensselaer Central Harrison Lafayette Jeff Western Marion Lebanon Logansport Yorktown

Its not. The fact that some of the NIC schools cannot field JV/Freshman teams in MANY sports is the primary factor. Why should Bremen, Jimtown, Glenn, etc stay in conference when half the kids in their programs constantly have their games/contests cancelled. Seems like the only responsible thing to do for their student athletes. The reality is, this change says less about the smaller NIC schools and MUCH more about some of the larger schools. All conferences have different by-laws, but generally is a combination of the Principals & AD's.

Why would Jeff vote HHS and MHS out of the conference, then turn around and follow them out the door?
