Pacers were gods to me as a young kid. Neto was at my house one time-he had to duck through doorways. McGinnis and Doc Erving were the stars of stars in the ABA, and the ABA had a lot of top players.

In recent years, enrollment data has been released around this time of the year - roughly mid-December. I’ve checked almost daily for the last week or so and there hasn’t been any data for this year released. Count day was moved back to the start of October instead of mid-September, so it could come out a little later. I’ll be glad to put something together once they are released, but I’m always interested in having others take a look at it to see if there are any details I missed or errors.

Craig Osika is both the Head Football Coach and school Principle. It’s very hard to do both. This is not a surprise to anyone as this has been rumored for a couple of years now. He did a great job as HC.

I have heard of a couple of schools who are projecting their futures and considering staying in the MSC or moving on. I agree the bigger conference would be fun and probably more beneficial to schools, but ADs and coaches have to examine what the IHSAA does in regards to realignments and sectional draws. In other sports that might be easier, but football sectionals can be draw in a variety of different ways which could affect schedules and what coaches want. This is just my two cents.

Statton scored for LCC. LCC threw a pick 6 with 2:38 left in the game. Friday September 15, 1961 at Southwestern Central Catholic 26 Southwestern 6 LCC 7-12-7-0 SW 0-0-0-6 It was Homecoming at SW. Lamb scored 2 td's for LCC. Friday September 22, 1961 at Rensselaer Central Catholic 13 Rensselaer 6 LCC 0-6-0-7 Ren 0-6-0-0 Rensselaer had the ball on the LCC 6 yard line in the 4th Q, but fumbled. Tim Statton recovered the fumble for LCC. It was LCC's first victory over Rensselaer in 3 attempts. Friday September 29, 1961 at Central Catholic Central Catholic 19 Danville, IL (Schlarman) 7 LCC 6-13-0-0 Sch 7-0-0-0 Lamb scored two td's for LCC. Tuesday October 3, 1961 at Delphi Central Catholic 26 Delphi 6 LCC 13-0-6-7 Del 0-0-0-6 Delphi was unbeaten! 1200 fans were at the game. Delphi completed 1 pass in the game. Lamb and Statton scored for LCC. Tuesday October 10, 1961 at Central Catholic Central Catholic 38 Klondike 6 LCC 13-13-6-6 Klon 0-6-0-0 Lamb scored 3 td's for LCC. Klondike Nuggets fell to 0-8. LCC attempted 1 pass in the game and it was not complete. Friday October 13, 1961 at Central Catholic Central Catholic 26 Attica 7 LCC 14-6-0-6 Att 0-0-0-7 It was Homecoming at LCC. Judy Isbell crowned Queen. LCC played South Bend St. Joseph the last game of the season, and several members of the SB St. Joe team were in attendance at the LCC/Attica game. Friday October 20, 1961 at West Lafayette Central Catholic 13 West Lafayette 6 LCC 0-6-0-7 WL 6-0-0-0 This was LCC's first win against WL. It was the 3rd meeting in the already bitter series. Lamb and Metzinger scored for LCC. Henry Ebershoff hit Jim Metzinger for a 61 yard td pass late in the 4th Q. Friday October 27 at Central Catholic South Bend St. Joseph 27 Central Catholic 13 LCC 0-13-0-0 SBSJ 14-0-0-13 Lamb scored 2 td's for LCC. LCC threw 3 interceptions. SB St. Joe's enrollment in 1961 was 1650. LCC's enrollment in 1961 was about 550

Great guy, the promotion to admin along with HC is just so much, he did great things on the field and will continue to do great things in his current school day role in the administration

George McGinnis passed this morning....I loved those ABA Pacers teams, and George was a great one. So many great memories, and I have no doubt those teams could have competed well against the NBA teams.
