    My take after seeing the Penn/Elkhart Game . Neither team will get out of their Sectional .

    Sad part for me is that Penn has done nothing this year to make me believe they can beat Elkhart . Maybe they show me something tonight .

    Penn will need to play it's best defensive game of the year and they must pull the reins off off Watson to let him run more . I can see not wanting to get Watson hurt , but you have to let the fastest guy on the field run .

    And I left out winless South Bend Washington . IMO Penn or Elkhart are not near the top 10 6A teams in Indiana .

    Maybe the fact they have played Riley , Marian and Adams has something to do with teams not scoring every drive . What do you think would happen if Penn Played ANY top 10 6A team .

    Penn's defense has changed a lot since Valpo ??? They got roasted by Mishawaka and they haven't played anyone since . Penn's only chance at a championship this season would be a conference championship . They will not make it out of their Sectional . That being said , I would expect the Elkhart game to be somewhat close with Elkhart winning by 7-10 .

    I can see Marian winning this game . This Penn team is very undisciplined(Penalties). The defense is horrid , this will show when they actually play someone with a good offense . The offense does have big play capability , but lacks consistency due to penalties. Didn't Marian jump out to a 17 point lead on Mishawaka ? I don't know what's going on at Penn , I can see 2-3 more losses this year .

    But didn't Penn only score 14 points in the first half? I can see them losing to Marian and Elkhart / NP . Unless something drastic happens , I don't see them beating any team in their Sectional .

    Spot on . In both cases the defense is left on the field to long . But , I will take this years scoring of points over the latter any day. don't think we will really see how good or bad the defense really is until the Sectional .

    Funny thing , I'd bet Mishawaka would beat Elkhart.

    If your referring to last year , I would say CP was above mid level HCC , as they took out the second best team in that conference . If your talking this year , not enough football has been played to accurately determine where they would be .

    I said Northern teams , as in Northern Indiana . Westfield and HSE are Indy area schools .

    After 1 week , I would give the nod to Fort Wayne Snider as being the best 6A Northern team . We will know a lot more about CP when they play Valpo .

    They are the best team in the northern portion of the state based off of what, last season's performance ?Last season has no bearing on this season . Just ask Ben Davis .

    All very good points . Penn has the facilities and resources in place for a young coach to come in and make Penn relevant(Statewide) again . As BlackGold said ,All great programs regardless of the sport, start at the youth level.
