  1. . My original post was about Snider-Valpo . I predicted Snider to win by 28+
  2. Dude wants to argue a fact that nearly every head coach will concede but can't properly read a post . FYI Tempster , It was 1 head coach in 3 years, Wally was an Assistant coach . And high school used to be 10-12 . Nobody said it would .
  3. Read my post. Remember when I said the GID is left with this ? Your true colors are shining . LOL
  4. I've never been there but I did see a bunch of pictures , it looks as nice as you say .
  5. And I never said long travel times affect the overall outcome of the game , but it could in certain circumstances . If the team that traveled comes out sluggish or flat for the first half and the other team manages to build a lead , anything can happen .
  6. The LA times article I attempted to cite? It's all right there in black and white by the teams coaches . You apparently know more than these teams coaches because you ran a PB time in a marathon with little sleep and long travel times ? Newsflash , not everyone is like you Temp . If a coach says long travel times affect his team , why would you not believe him or her ?
  7. Ding Ding Ding we have a winner . Trying to find data to back my statement up would be very difficult . So I tend to listen to the person who knows a sporting team the best , the Head Coach .
  8. Jeez , I don't know , when was the last time someone got car sick from playing video games in the school hallway ?Go Carroll , you will represent well at LOS .
  9. Was fortunate to play for 2 HOF coaches in Chris Geesman and Wally Yeoman . Seen multiple interviews by Legendary HOF coaches Russ Isaacs( Snider), Mark Hoffman(Valpo) and Dick Dullaghan (Ben Davis) spanning multiple decades . Every time one of these teams traveled 1 1/2 - 2 hrs to play a deep playoff game or in some cases regular season , it was almost always mentioned . If long travel times didn't mean anything , I doubt any of these coaches would mention it . I believe long travel times add an extra element for coaches to get the players ready to play .
  10. Here's a paragraph from the LA Times article on bus travel . For the athletes, a long bus trip can be a detriment to on-field performance. After 30 minutes or so on the road, players can become sleepy, lethargic, or, in some cases, even sick. “We have at least one (player) a year get sick in the bus,” Hayes said. “Last year, one of our baseball players got so sick, he couldn’t play in the game. And last week, on the way up to Twin Pines (in Banning), it happened to one of our key backs. It’s a problem.”
  11. I'm here because I like the Fort Wayne Snider guys . Been having conversations with them for over 20 years .Most of them will remember the mid 90's and 03,04 Semistate conversations . Lets Go Carroll and Snider. Be cool to have 2 teams from Fort Wayne down at LOS .
  12. Ever since joining the board ??? You were in elementary school when I joined this board 25 years ago . When the GID went to a new server my account was deleted , and I had to register again . I was absent on the board for a long time , because most of the original GID members don't post anymore and we are stuck with , well I won't go there . There is an LA Times article about high school sports travel , should be easy for someone as smart as you to find . It will debunk any theory you have about travel . Several Cali coaches chime in . Please lets drop this and move on .
  13. Luckily that past dominance has no bearing on Friday nights outcome .
  14. Temp , you remind me of a 16 year old that knows it all . I seriously hope one day you figure out that you don't . I have noticed that a couple of other people have commented about long travel times since the playoffs have started . Not one word from Temp on their comment , but he feels the need to comment on mine . It seems that every message board has that one special member that's smarter than everyone else , congrats Temp . Now back to the game at hand
  15. You don't forget how to function , but coming out sluggish , flat etc is a biproduct .
  16. Carroll is an impressive team and I have been to Fort Wayne enough times in mid November for a freezing cold weather game , to know it's not going to be easy for HSE . If they are off even slightly , Carroll wins this game (which I think they will).
  17. Does that mean we get to meet face to face for you to pay me ?
  18. Give it a rest dude , don't you have class to attend or spreadsheets to make ? Carroll wins by 10
  19. It was also a little odd that it took Cathedral a whole half to get in gear when they played Penn . I wonder why ? If temp doesn't believe travel is a factor , it's his opinion . Has he ever traveled 2 hrs in a school bus to play a sporting event , after sitting in class for 7 hours ? I have and it sucks . Why do we believe the home team has an advantage ?
  20. And I think Whiteland would win if they drove in a school bus to Florida . I feel that Whiteland is that much better that it will not matter . Are you thinking that HSE rolls Carroll ?
  21. But yet we all supposed to believe the Almighty Temptation when he says it doesn't make a difference . Where is your Spreadsheet that says it doesn't make a difference? Any long ride , rather it be Plane , car, bus, and train has an effect on the human body . Rather it be sports , academics etc.
  22. Go ask as many HOF coaches you can find if they feel that a 2 hr bus trip makes a difference .
