Elkhart? I would put Elkhart before Mishawaka. Heck the Cavemen barely beat a bad Concord team.

These last two games for NP will only make them better for a deep 4A playoff run. However , I don’t see anyone beating New Palestine/Roncalli in 4A.

Just as I thought, game was closer than the last two at freed field. Road doesn’t get easier for NP with Elkhart looming.

FYI , there is no high school in Granger.

And it wasn't intended to be a knock on NP .but more of a knock on Penn and how far they have slipped . Let's be honest , prior to 2015 going back some 30 years , Penn would easily beat NP 9 out of every 10 games . Going back over 30 years , NP has a losing record against Laporte . Laporte has always been either the bottom feeder or mid pack in the DAC . Penn owned the Top DAC teams for the better part of 30 years , I bet the DAC might have 6-7 wins from 1985-2015 . So talking about big conference games and losses to NP shows just how far Penn has slipped .

Penn’s front 7 on defense is stout. Asking if Penn is run heavy made me chuckle. It’s been that way for 45 years. Penn seems to be improved since last year but still no where near where I would like to see them.

I expect this Penn vs NP game to be closer than the last two at Penn. Freed field has not been kind to the Cougars.

Penn-21 Elkhart-20 Final Penn throws 2 interceptions, one being a pick 6, then fumbles on the 1 yard line going in for a score.

Interesting that the South Bend Tribune has Penn at #6 in the area rankings .

Why does it say 2002 in the Title ?Didn't think Fishers was a high school until 2007? My nephew was a lineman on Hse's state runner up team . The next year he played for Fishers .

I believe it was his 2nd or 3rd year coaching . Cathedrals QB and receiver (Tubbs) are studs, both should be playing on Saturdays in the near future . If Cathedral gets healthy , they have as good of a chance at the 6A championship as anyone .

Warsaw looking good as well Let’s not forget Penn’s last 2 state title appearances, they went through Carmel to get there.

Penn now has a dedicated strength and conditioning coach. They hired Antwon Jones as an assistant coach. He took South Bend Washington to the state finals as a HC. I believe they will keep improving, but still have a ways to go . Penn’s QB only a Jr should be real good next year. I was impressed by Cathedrals QB. Kids a baller.

Was wanting a better game than the last two, and got that. Penn gave up 3 huge pass plays that all resulted in Cathedral TD’s. The one with 5 seconds before halftime was a killer. Thought Penn’s front 7 on defense played well most of the game, the secondary not so much. Penn is not there yet(Indiana EliteTeams) but hopefully heading in that direction.

2004 Snider team was the best I ever seen, and I’ve seen nearly every team since the mid 80’s. They matched up with Warren athletically with half the enrollment, incredible. Always mad respect for Snider.

We talked to Warren fans at our hotel, they said that 10 starters were suspended for 2 games by the school. They did not go into detail.
