  1. And somehow I got pulled into a "rabbit-hole" discussing Snider needing a field, and then also turfing Bowser Field (lower-level/practice facility). Heck, ya know I am just gonna TURF my lawn now. I am totally convinced that THIS is the wave of the future! But I will need a sponsorship, I just don't have the revenue.... DONATE TO THE GID!!!!
  2. Both of these "supposedly" happened. As a Lutheran, I am not gonna get the Protestant Reformation going again....So I am not speculating on what the Diocese had/has in mind for the Luers campus. But obviously nothing came of the offers to turf the field.
  3. AGREED...But FWCS is not 'turfing' a lower level field (Bowser)...... AGREED. Now back to the lecture at hand... As I feel that we are in a vortex that is outside of the Luersfield situation. Luers NEEDS turf...no question!
  4. Again, as I said earlier. the NEIGHBORHOOD will not allow a full on Stadium to be put in place at the Bowser Field location. Heck, the extended residents weren't in favor of the Layhmeyer Road facility either. Even capitulating to the neighborhood to construct a Baseball facility off Long Road, they couldn't put in lights. I am befuddled as to where a full on FB Stadium could/would be constructed...perhaps off Coliseum Blvd.? (Old Home Depot location...) But now that brings us to the funding of the construction. Are you sure that the 'ultra-conservative' FW taxpayers would vote for a tax increase to give Snider a stand alone facility; When they seem to be content with the current situation on Friday nights sharing a facility with Northrop?
  5. Snider's Turf Field is located off Cook Road, at a facility named "Spuller Stadium" You changed the entire narrative of "turf fields" by introducing lower level games. That is NOT the topic, nor the thrust of the original post. (Even if you are correct) Unless and until, the Fort Wayne residents on the near NE side agree and allow an expansion of Snider facilities to include a FB Stadium, the current 'sharing of a facility' on Friday nights will continue. I think it is much more incumbent upon FWCS to solve the situations with Wayne/North/South at this time, then deal with the Snider issues later.
  6. Wayne is getting turf AFTER this season. The new Superintendent is also fast tracking turf for North and South...so that issue will be eliminated as it pertains to FWCS. There are all sorts of "rumors" as to why/who offered to fund turf for Luers. No need to get into that...but as of now, they don't have turf. But I assure you that prominent former players did offer to fund a turf field. It just didn't/hasn't happened.
  7. Seriously? Or just TROLLING?
  8. 2A North .... Ain't no joke. Do not assume that I am counting Eastbrook (or a Region team) out of the mix....
  9. Totally agreed. Not sure where the "game" would be be played. But I don't think Luers will play a "home" game before Sectional Finals due to the Luersfield situation. I don't count ANY team out in the tournament: Surprises always happen.
  10. Thanx for the comment, Mitchell! Always good to get Donnie in check!
  11. Sir Hale #2 may have a LOT to say about that. Luers is a multi-dimensional threat. He spoke to me after the Snider game, and I truly believe that he is on a PERSONAL mission .... ground-wise.
  12. Yes the hash marks are not complaint with HS. Perhaps *as a Lutheran...we can reach beyond the Protestant Reformation, and make this happen. I KEED, I KEED!!! Here's why I do HS FB! A 3rd generation of a family that look forward to being involved with education based athletics. I won't be around on the field of play...but I will be as always on the sidelines.
  13. Leo runs the ball! The field was a QUAGMIRE before the game even started, I was there earlier in the week, and DeKalb's field was a total disaster then. Following 3.5 inches of rain for consecutive days, I can't imagine what it like to even try to execute an offensive scheme. The final score says exactly what happened. Leo won, nuff said.
  14. I bet ya they'll be playing a "home game" SOON on someone's turf after the beating that field took last night.
  15. It was a total MUD SHOW tonight at Luers
  16. Is Roger Craig playing tomorrow? If not, better raise those knees higher!
  17. If it doesn't rain: What about the length of the grass surface?
  18. Saint Louis DIDN'T let the Rams "go". Kroenke had it made up all along to get back to LA and increase his franchise's value....via Jerry Jones' leadership. And Kroenke screwed Shad Khan by pulling his right of 1st refusal when Georgia died....Kroenke knew all along what he was going to do! The Cardinals left, because all the area asked is that Bill Bidwill put a winning team on the field. They had numerous viable Stadium projects on the table. And he was promised a stadium in Phoenix.....took more than a decade for him to see that realization, so he played in a Collegiate stadium. The issue with Saint Louis is simple. The City of Saint Louis and Saint Louis County are completely separate entities. They have separate tax bases, separate approaches to governmental oversight and are basically at odds on everything. There are to my knowledge only 3 major urban areas that are separate from the surrounding county that abuts them: Baltimore, MD being one of them, and another in Nevada. Saint Louis had an expansion franchise in the bag, then blew it when the group over played their hand with the terms of the TWA Dome lease..... RIP Walter Payton (Sweetness). He was the ultimate person who was hurt by this situation. So a Saint Louisan got a franchise in Jacksonville instead.....And here we are. Let the LAWSUITS continue, and the NFL will lose for lying all along to Saint Louis!
  19. It was ruled as illegal touching. The Dwenger QB is shoved at the 1 yard line (into the end zone), while attempting to throw the ball. It it is then touched by the BD Right Tackle (dropped). I am not sure that IG is the correct interpretation of what happened. Illegal touching seems more likely, therefore eliminating the Safety as the adjudication. No matter what, it was a tough call in the immediacy of the situation for the crew to work through. I am convinced that they (the crew) talked through the scenario and arrived at the correct interpretation of the play. Following the explanation to Coach Tippmann, he showed no argument to the adjudication. That tells me, that he was in agreement (acceptance) of what was called. Eliminate the pontification of the announcers... I have had issues with these guys before, and have said that in other postings. Far too often, it seems that they are just 'fanatics' with a microphone .
  20. We actually move up (R and U) to put ourselves in harm's way, thereby giving a VERY OBVIOUS signal that the "victory formation" is in effect. Of course we absolutely WARN/ALERT both both teams, that anything other than taking a knee, or rushing the line/QB will not be allowed. The game is done!!!
  21. I really wish that years ago, that Lahmeyer Rd. site (project) would have been better explained to the neighborhood, and moved forward. A "sunken field" with (by now Field Turf) of their own, would have been a wonderful thing. Lights barely above the horizon.... The only upside to the 2021 Playoff draw, is that one school (Northrop or Snider) gets exclusive use of Spuller Stadium after Round One.
  22. The scuttlebutt in FW is that the NEW Superintendent of FWCS is all about have ALL 4 HS fields turfed ASAP! He doesn't understand the delay in not going forward. As I said before, FW Wayne has 'jumped' FW South and is getting Field Turf after this season. But there is a possibility that South/North and Wayne may all get Field Turf before next season. Is there a possibility that talk will again start on FW Snider getting their own field?
  23. Sounding like a broken record.... SEEDING ??? needed....
