For this crew... Gibson Southern at Brebeuf... 2013 Started with a lot of fans being "macho", Cathart jackets all around... 2nd half, everyone up in the glass enclosed end zone building....only players, coaches, officials and chain gang left on the playing surface. It was ungodly cold, windy rainy, then snowing sideways. Took GS completely out of their game. O still shudder now, just thinking of it.

Doesn't impact the crew. But if guidelines are in place. It is a conundrum that I cannot explain to those whom I mentor and try to give 'hope' to...to keep pushing forward.

Seems like a great match-up in 4A North...

What's 25% of capacity at LOS? If they open up the upper deck, that might not be much of a difference than in other years.

Let's go with Bobref on this one. But at this point in the tournament, I can only see one match-up that could even be a running clock.. .I am ON the field, not in the pressbox. Thankfully.

Looks like Warsaw jumped the gun. Spoke to the crew, and its on for Homestead to host this Friday night...

That's a heck of an observation there "Sherlock" Kinda takes us back to the original tenor of MY point.. Some schools travel better than others. No disrespect to Luers. But they honestly fall in the lower portion of SAC schools whose fans 'travel. Whereas: Homestead; Carroll; Dwenger and Snider (Concordia not withstanding) seem always bring a dedicated number of fans on the road.

I am pretty sure that those same Luers parents (coaches and players) aren't expecting to lose. Besides, it works both ways...Eastside wouldn't have fans either.

Nope. Some schools' fan travel more than others. There's no way the Knights would gain anything going TO Butler.

Why would you give up that advantage if you don't need to? Perhaps you should have a 'Coke and a smile' and bring it down a few notches....

"Rumor" is that Allen County will be under a county-wide edict banning fans later in the week. Hence the game that Homestead was hosting vs. Warsaw was moved (LAST NIGHT) to Warsaw.

Totally agree. It's crunch time for those of us who are "independent" of the situation. I have a personal experience at this point, and its a concern. I am struggling with both officiating, and the ability to forgo our crew's exposure to anyone who has had contact with anyone else with COVID.

As an official. I am pretty sure that I might lose one of my crew members due to "concern". Now having said that.. It's sad that Clinton Prairie is out of the tournament due to no fault of their own (as of now). i hope that the local Health Department can get involved and 'save' the seson for the kids! Let's all hope that CP gets further testing and is clean. And then lets all hope that their opponent is trusting of the testing and they can play this week.

Got that. But those fields are used by other schools in case of a conflict with scheduling...thanks.

Kick catch interference. (Against the kicking team) And a few options then come into play. Kick has to be grounded and also travel 10 yards before the kicking team could touch and/or posses it.

Ya gotta admit it was cool on Sundays in the late fall, looking at the old Cleveland Municipal Stadium....we ALL knew what that field was....

Is your crew a relatively "new" crew? Would the average "experience" of the top 3 members affect the vote/ranking? There are a myriad of factors that weigh into the system that is in use, that are beyond just meetings/games. As Bob said, "Control the things you can control, like meetings attendance, test scores, clinics, video review, etc. Let the other things take care of themselves." I have told numerous crews/indiviudals the same thing.... It's frustrating, but it can be educational as time goes forward to reflect on things that hadn't been considered as impactful...in the future. Having said that...let's take any further convo to PM on this subject.
