  1. Typical that a socialist like yourself supports government subsidies and heavy regulation in most if not all industries. So you also believer the current wave of inflation was caused by Mr. Reagan ending subsidies?

  4. Because U.S. shipbuilders couldn't be competitive with their foreign counterparts, and instead of trying to be competitive through effective cost cutting and changing manufacturing methods they instead leaned on government subsidies to stay afloat. And when Mr. Reagan ended those subsidies, as he rightly should have, they quickly faded away. https://www.forbes.com/sites/lorenthompson/2021/07/23/us-shipbuilding-is-at-its-lowest-ebb-ever-how-did-america-fall-so-far/?sh=3a2f65756c87
  5. There has been talk of an overpass or underpass on 1-2 major streets in town, but nothing ever comes of it. I think primarily because of the expense. In the meantime the Fire Department has to maintain and staff two small fire stations on the north side of the tracks (the main fire dept. headquarters is south of tracks) in case they get a call while a train is basically splitting the town in half.
  6. https://reason.com/2022/07/29/the-federal-student-loan-program-was-supposed-to-pay-for-itself-now-itll-cost-taxpayers-197-billion/ Yep, another failed government program. Imagine that.
  7. They should love and embrace the Detroit Lions. 🙂
  8. Agreed. A busy railroad line run right through the middle of Frankfort, which a railyard on the west side of town. The city is frequently cut in half, north to south, by stopped trains, up to as long as 30 minutes. People around here bitch and complain about it but such is the cost of free enterprise.
  9. No, it's not. It is a perfect example of what today we call "crony capitalism". Apparently a practice you applaud because it means more government regulation and interference in the market. The free market finds a way, as long as government regulation and interference doesn't foul it up.
  10. https://www.cato.org/publications/policy-analysis/jones-act-burden-america-can-no-longer-bear# An important and eye-opening read.
  11. From the headline: I agree. Not for this ugly monstrosity or any stadium.
  12. I didn't think the left could define "woman" anymore.
  13. https://mises.org/library/government-runs-ultimate-racket Yep. Social Security needs to end.
  14. I'm a Chicago Bears fan because there was no NFL franchise in the state of Indiana when I started to love and enjoy the game. My son however is a huge Colts fan. I tell him I will always root for the Colts to win, unless they are playing the Bears.
  15. A typical federal government ploy: if the common definition of a word or phrase make you look bad then change the definition. The CDC did it with the word "vaccine" and now the Biden White House is doing with the word "recession".
  16. I don't anything about Centerville but Oak Hill seems a little light on enrollment in regards to most of this bunch. It's used to playing mostly 1A & 2A competition:
  17. So if you have these celebrations after a "good" or "great" play, is there the expected apology or penance after a mistake? The wisdom of Lou Holtz concerning 'showboating' comes to mind:
  18. NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! https://apnews.com/article/choco-taco-discontinued-1ce9f619c7f6edda75379b234c8818ba You are now dead to me Klondike. I will never buy again purchase any of your products.

  20. Ugghh. Those needs to be thrown in the trash heap. And quickly. Especially that helmet.
  21. The Law of Unintended Consequences rears it's ugly head again.
  22. FTA: This is just wrong. It is a game, played by children. It needs to be de-emphasized by the IHSAA, schools, and athletic directors statewide.
  23. "released". Interesting word choice regarding COVID.
  24. I'll vote third party. Or not vote for POTUS at all depending on who the third party candidates are. Remember people, not voting is a valid choice.
  25. * Legt Standards für die Teilnahmeberechtigung, den Wettbewerb und den Sportsgeist fest und bietet gleichzeitig Schutz vor Ausbeutung von Schulen oder Schülern.
