  2. https://www.jconline.com/story/sports/high-school/2023/11/30/faith-christian-transitions-to-11-man-football/71742821007/#:~:text=Faith Christian announced last Friday,8-man season in 2023. (Note: site is behind a paywall) A new p/p threat has emerged in the Lafayette metro area. Who will they steal away from the likes of Jeff, Harrison, McCutchen, the River Rats, etc.?
  3. https://apnews.com/article/henry-kissinger-obit-secretary-of-state-d7d289c3a0b911ed9b863c219cee77e8 Wow, I thought Mr. Kissinger was immortal or something....................
  4. The best solution is for the IHSAA to go to a true system of promotion/relegation, and take enrollment entirely out of it's classification system.
  5. No, since I have never coached at the IHSAA level I did not know that. Thank you for the information, I will peruse those various required courses. Like the years LCC slummed in the Hoosier Heartland Conference. 96-0 (never forget).
  6. What kind of Youth Protection Training are these cadres of volunteer coaches required to take?
  7. I bet they all kind of look this this, but probably outdoors under the bleachers: Sorry that "hegemony" is too high brow for you.
  8. Nice attempt at moving the goalposts, Whitehat. No, your original question was, and I quote: Name one 3A public school that received $901 million in IDEA grants in 2020. I'll wait.
  9. As shown in the excellent information FarmerFran just provided your estimate is probably way, way off. Can you please share what Indianapolis Lutheran's entire annual operating budget is?
  10. Covid was the impetus for many parents to realize that "traditional school", be it run by the government or a private/parochial entity, may not be the best environment for their children's education. Hence the drop in traditional school enrollment across the nation: https://fortune.com/2023/02/09/how-much-did-enrollment-drop-k-12-high-school-pandemic-covid-education/ https://apnews.com/article/homeschool-diploma-louisiana-nonpublic-school-a37a44dab69f11e2c37132549f9cd450
  11. Thank you for confirming that. You forget the special education kids as well. Too expensive to keep around.
  12. I see we have a number of p/p zealots whining about decreased enrollment in their buildings. Why is this? Is tuition to expensive? Are the academic/religious/behavior expectations too strict compared to their government school counterparts? Are families not producing enough new Catholics/Christians/Lutherans/etc. to fill the halls?

Mr. Osterman at the Indy Star weighs in on some potential replacements for Mr. Allen: https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/2023/11/26/indiana-hoosiers-football-tom-allen-fired-iu-coaching-candidates-justin-frye-antwaan-randle-el/71678895007/
  14. https://mises.org/wire/student-loans-continuing-crisis-getting-worse The student loan program is one of the biggest evils foisted onto the public by the federal government.
  15. https://www.avclub.com/r-i-p-marty-krofft-tv-producer-hr-pufnstuf-1851048025 Land Of The Lost was one of my favorite Saturday morning shows as a kid.

    Mr. Meyer, of course.
  17. "Mr. Tom Allen, your new head coach of the Indiana State Sycamores." OR "Mr. Tom Allen, your new head coach of the Ball State Cardinals.: OR "Mr. Tom Allen, your new head coach of the Depauw Tigers:.
  18. With something like 50% of those wins without Harbaugh on the sideline. The guy is probably going pro, does Michigan really need him?
  19. So who is going to write the $20 million dollar check to get right of Mr. Allen at IU? Mr. Cuban, Mr. Mellencamp, or maybe a combination of both/several rich alumni or boosters?
  20. Three p/p schools, whose total constituency make up probably around 10% of the football playing schools in the IHSAA, have just taken home 50% of the available state championship trophies. The p/p hegemony continues unabated, with the "success factor" doing little more than rearranging the deck chairs. This will continue as long as the IHSAA stubbornly sticks to a primarily enrollment based classification system, and not a system that truly measures the historical success, or lack thereof, of Indiana high school football programs.
  21. Please expound on this. Sounds like a football co-op situation, which I didn't think we had in Indiana?
