  1. Touchdown Bulldogs, set up by a really nice pitch and catch on a fade down the right sideline for about 30 yards. Crown Point 7 -Andrean 0 7:42 2Q
  2. CP FG attempt no good. Niners need to get something going on offense.
  3. Andrean 0 - Crown Point 0 End 1Q Bulldogs were knocking on the door after a long pass up the seam but get hurt by a holding penalty. It’ll be 3rd and goal from the ~15 to start the 2Q.
  4. Fair enough, probably jumped the gun a little on that one. Definitely one of the marquee matchups in the entire state tonight though.
  5. Probably the biggest game in the regular season for the Fort this year? Obviously going to be imbued with a lot of emotion. Wish I could be at this one. That being said I'm going to take Carroll.
  6. Yeah, I also was expecting them to be solid with the number of returners they brought back. We'll see how they progress as the season goes and if some pieces get moved around. Playing larger competition definitely paid dividends last year in the playoffs. Hopefully the new QB can step in and be solid. Conference will still be right there for them and the postseason is 'nother ball game.
  7. Lol, I knew that comment would rile you up if you saw it.
  8. This is the big key for the Niners. Their line struggled quite a bit last year as well until they shuffled some guys around, and the Rensselaer game was a big turning point when they didn't throw a single pass and put the entire game on the running game and the line. I fully expect the Niners to lose these next two weeks (CP really impressed me last week and Crete-Monee is a very good program that just played in IL's Final 4). However, they should be able to build some postseason momentum when the play EC and then start conference play. I didn't see the QB play but according to Skinner he and Ballentine were splitting 1st team reps over the summer so maybe there won't be too much of a drop-off. Was the freshmen you're talking about the Bolz (unsure of spelling) kid?
  9. Blindly following rules is a sickness.
  10. NorthWood vs East Noble is a very interesting match up... I think the Panthers get it done.
  11. You can't really say it's 'what they should do' when their record against them the last 10 years is about .500. That's by far the largest margin of victory I've seen in the leather helmet game. That was Buz's statement game.
  12. - Warsaw's QB went down against City. Chesterton surprised a lot of people last week with how they handled Hobart. I think the Trojans get it done. - Crown Point gave the entire Region a big statement last week. They should take care of Andrean easily. - Valpo should roll. Not sure this game needs to be played anymore after this year. - As I suspected, it looks like City might be in a little bit of a down year. Jeff will roll. - I guess we'll see how much LC has improved under Good so far. I think Providence wins this one comfortably. - Lowell got blasted last week but I think they bounce back this week. - Ville should win this one with little resistance. - Penn should crush Portage.
  13. You're gonna have a hard time convincing me a coach that's 140 games over .500 and has taken his teams to 4 state championships isn't good at what he does.
  14. Yeah, but they won 3 of those in the first 5 years of the formation of the MIC. 20+ years since nothing. The teams from Indy started playing better competition more consistently, year after year. The level of play in Indy got better and better, until they left Penn in the dust. Same thing with the HCC.
  15. Preaching to the choir here. I don't stick my head in the sand and ignore your SES argument...
  16. Your logic seems pretty solid there. If someone had the time and the effort, they probably could go back through scores and give a pretty good ballpark number as to where enrollment discrepancies cease to make a significant difference in determining games. Penn's problem is indicative of what @BTF is getting at. They are far too big to be playing the schools they do in the NIC. They've tried to mitigate it by playing a tough noncon schedule, but the truth is that playing in that conference is the main factor why they've fallen from grace statewide. You are who you play against.
  17. This is a big factor. Add in the fact that MIC schools will now be looking for more non-conference games with CG and Carmel no longer in the league. This will give a chance to more non-Indy area teams to schedule them. I think a big reason why the HCC has made such significant strides is that most play 2 MIC teams for their non-con schedule in addition to their HCC schedule. Iron sharpens iron.
  18. I think this was mentioned by someone on another thread (sorry, can't remember who or where), but is there an aspect of diminishing returns when it comes to enrollment? Does an extra 500 kids make that big of a difference when we're talking about schools of 2500+ to begin with?
  19. Ok, literally everything that has ever happened in the world had never happened before at some point lol. It'll take a special group and a special coach but it will happen.
  20. Thanks for spicing up my very boring work morning, guys. That being said, and I've mentioned this before, when a true 'North' team wins 6A, because it will happen, they will be instant legends.
