  1. - Merrillville by a lot. - Chesterton in a low-scoring snoozer. Why is Portage so bad? - City gets back on track against the most-disappointing program in the Region. We'll see if they can string together some wins here the next couple weeks. - Dogs overpower the Vikings in likely the only good matchup of the week. I'll give Valpo a better shot if their RB1 plays this week (went out with injury last game).
  2. Sheesh, you drew the short end of the stick on that one
  3. Let's see if Lutheran beats Scecina this Friday first.
  4. Man, that's really tough for the kids. I remember my sophomore year our game with West Side had to be moved to Saturday because West Side's AD didn't get refs for the game (not kidding). Luckily we were able to use the refs for what was supposed to be the JV game that next day.
  5. Man, I know Pike has looked better than their record indicates, but if the Red Devils beat the Warriors then Warren and Kirschner are in some trouble. I also think LC will keep it a little closer than that with CG. I think we'll see these next few weeks whether the Bears are a serious threat to Cathedral in Sectional 6.
  6. Sagarin #2 vs Sagarin #243... Is this the biggest discrepancy in rankings for a non-conference game ever?
  7. CP-Valpo will be interesting but I don't see Valpo winning. This year CP does everything Valpo does but better.
  8. Could you create ratings for every team in the country based on the same criteria (obviously this is not feasible for one man)? Then you could have the most-accurate analysis in terms of common opponents, as well as a common formula for every team. Not sure if this would be a potential solution but it's the only thing I can think of off the top of my head.
  9. Andrean, Luers, and Mater Dei will all be bolstered by the schedules they play. I cannot emphasize enough how much playing larger schools pays dividends for these programs come playoff time.
  10. I just think it's hard to give any predictions when it's still so wide open. I will say that Scecina has been the most-impressive team to me so far but LaVille and Linton have looked good too. IMO 2A North has been a tad deeper the past two years but this year it's looking like 2A South might be a little better overall. Either way I think this is one of the most-balanced classes at the top and whatever team is left standing at the end will have earned it. I think we'll have a little bit better picture of the contending teams in a couple weeks.
  11. Valpo rips off a big run as time runs out in the 1st. 14-14
  12. Valpo punches it in on 4th and Goal. 14-7 MC 4:21 left
  13. Michigan City 14 - Valpo 0 1Q City runs back the opening kickoff and then gets a pick 6 on Valpo’s first drive
  14. This is highly debatable. Maybe at the smaller levels but 5A/6A is another story. See: Noblesville.
  15. Maybe. But that victory was very impressive, especially coming back down two scores. And CP’s JV team running clocked Merrillville’s as well. At the very least the DAC is CP’s this year.
  16. Not trying to pile on the refs here but this has to be one of the most ridiculous things I’ve seen in a while
  17. Earlier today, Andrean came back from 16 down to beat Crete-Monee out of Illinois 30-28. A gutsy win for the Niners that they really needed.
  18. To add insult to injury, and maybe a little telling of things to come, CP’s JV squad running clocked Merrillville’s today…
  19. Crown Point 48-40 final. There’s a new sheriff in town fellas.
  20. 48-40 Final. CP knocks off the Ville.
  21. Crown Point leads Merrillville 42-34 with 3:40 left in the game
