  1. Was Merrillville a potential opponent for CG? Would have loved to see the Pirates play the Trojans. Especially to beef up Merrillville's schedule and prepare for tournament.
  2. Speaking of out of state opponents, just saw where Center Grove will play Louisville Trinity in 2022 week 3. Carmel vs CG will move up to week 2. This is on John Harrell's website.
  3. Intrigued...updates needed!!
  4. Not saying it isn't fun to see these matchups every once in a while. I just personally would like to see them play Cathedral, Fort Wayne teams, or Penn or Valpo
  5. I think they'd like to win first
  6. Never understand why people always want to see these out of state games. Play teams affiliated with the IHSAA. I get that these games happen at times for various reasons, but I would much rather see Ben Davis play teams in Indiana rather than out of state. I do not care about how good teams from chicago or cincinnati are.
  7. I would definitely not be surprised to see Kevin O'Shea show interest for this job
  8. With Carmel and CG being kicked out starting 2023, remaining MIC schools will be looking for new opponents for nonconference matchups. What are the future matchups that have been confirmed or even just rumored? Or what are some matchups you would like to see? Looks like Warren Central has plans for FW Snider and FW Carroll. Also saw that they will potentially be play Warsaw in the future. Any others so far?
  9. According to the Indy Star, IHSAA will be releasing their new classifications in the coming weeks.
  10. Curious, is there any word on if they are freezing it for one more year? Or reclassifying? Needs to be reclassified now!
  11. Not to be biased, but if I am them I am taking Warren and Center Grove.
  12. I really believe that CG would have gotten in the HCC if they went alone and no connection with Carmel. FC to the MIC makes so much sense.
  13. I think this will be the serious topic in regards to the sectionals of 6A. It has serious implications. The south is pretty much standard and set if you ask me. The 6 North side of Indy schools makes it very difficult. I find it hard to believe Zionsville and Carmel get split up. But, Westfield is right there as well. It has to be split somehow. And this is all assuming Cathedral is 6A which I believe should and will be.
  14. Just wait. It will happen. An above post might have a few of those schools that would like to break away with CG and Carmel.
  15. HCC did not want them in. I guess that conference did not want to better itself. I would be willing to guess that CG is not that dominant in any other sport. Softball would be about the only one. Keep in mind that it is high school sports. CG will not always have the dominant teams it had the past 2 seasons in football. Also, as much as I enjoy the MIC, I am still not buying the culturally aligned statement put out by the remaining 6 schools. It was a money and competition thing.
  16. you would think...Unless there is another way to sectional those schools. I just do not see another proper way. And it has been like this in the past.
  17. 6A South Sectionals according to new enrollments: Sectional 5- Avon, Brownsburg, Pike, Ben Davis Sectional 6- North Central, Lawrence North, Lawrence Central, Cathedral Sectional 7- Warren Central, Tech, Perry Meridian, Southport Sectional 8- Center Grove, Franklin Central, Columbus North, Jeffersonville Not sure what other options would work best. I think the main question would be how Sectional 4 in the North is divided up between Carmel, Zionsville, Westfield, Noblesville, HSE and Fishers
  18. I look at it like this, CG and Carmel have the option to create a new conference in the near future (I am talking 2,3,4 years from now). From what I have heard and sources that have shared, there are some HCC schools who would be willing to go with these schools. Possibly some MIC schools as well. You could see a small conference look like this... Carmel, Center Grove, Fishers, HSE, Brownsburg, Avon, Cathedral (Maybe). On the other hand, maybe CG is better off finding a conference to join or trying to avoid connection with Carmel. Carmel seems to be at the culprit of this entire thing. If CG stays away from them, they might have a better opportunity of joining a conference or possibly creating one on their own. Carmel is dominant in all sports and the school is so big it does intimidate programs. HCC obviously was. It sure will be hard to find football games for both of these schools when the big schools of the Indy Metro area won't even schedule them or put them in their conference.
  19. People seem to forget the real reason Carmel and CG decided to look at HCC. I agree with you. Also, I find it funny that there are still a handful of the remaining MIC schools who have reached out to Carmel and CG about keeping them on the schedule. Kind of funny to me...
  20. Indian Creek? I feel this is a good fit and would be less travel for them.
  21. I would NOT kick out Carmel and CG. And I WOULD vote in Carmel and CG
  22. If I were Carmel I would not want to schedule them with them voting against to allow them in. Obviously Carmel will need to find opponents though so I am sure they will continue to schedule. I am a MIC guy and will miss having Carmel and CG. However, I think it is completely weak minded of the HCC voters to not allow those schools in. HCC has large schools with lots of money and good communities and they don't want Carmel and CG in? Just crazy thinking. They play them in most sports anyway. I think it is very weak!!
  23. Roncalli has turned down playing the Trojans in the past. And I have heard they do not plan to in the future.
  24. From what I have learned, CG and Carmel will probably not play MIC schools. MIC made those 2 schools look bad and sound bad. I would not play them. However, I also know from the football side of things that a couple of the big MIC schools left that they are wanting CG and Carmel back or at least have them on schedule. The football programs do not want them gone. And a potential new conference from 1 or 2 of the HCC schools, Carmel, CG, a couple MIC schools, and a possible Cathedral could be on the horizon. Lots of info though, but I assure you that is a real possibility.
