  1. From what I have learned, CG and Carmel will probably not play MIC schools. MIC made those 2 schools look bad and sound bad. I would not play them. However, I also know from the football side of things that a couple of the big MIC schools left that they are wanting CG and Carmel back or at least have them on schedule. The football programs do not want them gone. And a potential new conference from 1 or 2 of the HCC schools, Carmel, CG, a couple MIC schools, and a possible Cathedral could be on the horizon. Lots of info though, but I assure you that is a real possibility.
  2. Any assistant coaches that are on the radar for potential head jobs? Or would be great head coaches
  3. Do not forget about Gary Harris for HSE. Obvious top recruit for basketball. He did play some football and was very talented. Just wanted to share another big time player out of the HCC.
  4. Voting will be soon. Have not heard much more from which way the votes will go. I would assume nothing much has changed since before Christmas. I would guess Carmel & CG are starting to get nervous.
  5. People are always trying to fix the system. Sometimes it is just the way it is. It is not always fair. College football isn't fair. Neither is high school. Sometimes some schools are just not a school that can win the state championship. It does not mean it is a bad program or the system needs fixed to make it "fair".
  6. From all the people I have spoken with and heard from, there are more schools that do not want to vote Carmel & CG in than ones who do. However, those schools are nervous about not letting them in because of a new conference that will be created by Carmel & CG. There are at least 2 or 3 HCC schools who would most likely leave to join this new conference. This would then break up the true HCC. With this being said, if I was someone in charge of a HCC school, I would vote to put them in. Financially it just makes too much sense. I would be nervous about the potential HCC break up.
  7. Interested to see MIC schools fill their non conference games in football. That will be 4 non conference games now. Hard enough for MIC schools to find games.
  8. I am with ya on this. I do not see a reason why HCC would not add them. In football, I think the best would be a 7 game conference schedule that rotates every year. I do not see them adding just 1 of the 2. I believe it is all or none.
  9. Exciting stuff. If i had to bet, I say they hold off for 1 more year.
  10. I think Franklin Central and Southport should join for sure. It makes so much sense to me and probably all of us. I just do not see them wanting to at this time. Franklin Central is rumored to have already turned down an invitation to the MIC just this week. The same goes for Avon.
  11. Again, from some inside sources that are very credible, CG and Carmel originally reached out to the MIC schools in hopes to combine with the HCC. This would have made a mega conference. MIC did not want that. So to me, the BS about the academics and everything else was just something for them to fall back on. However, I have also heard that a decent amount of the HCC schools want NO part in allowing CG and Carmel in. It will definitely be interesting how this all shakes out in a couple of weeks. Cg and Carmel may have to start persuading teams into creating a new conference...
  12. Hate to break it to ya, but that is why conferences for sports are built. MIC stated that to try and look like they are bigger than athletics. It is just things people say. Athletics is the sole reason for that conference.
  13. Years back when Conference Indiana had 10 teams this was their format I believe. And it worked. Also, would Harrison and Jeff be curious to joining the MIC?
  14. I hope the HCC makes it a 7 game regular season and leaves 2 weeks for nonconference. HCC can alternate who plays who each year. Again, this is waiting to see if CG and Carmel are approved (they will be).
  15. The article was misleading. The only reasons for leaving are because of money and competition. The 6 remaining MIC schools bring no crowds and their sports besides football and basketball are not competitive whatsoever. This has been in the works for 3 years or so. Its a money and competition thing and nothing else. The MIC will probably try and make them look bad for leaving and that is why the article said what it said. The HCC will need to have 5 of 8 vote yes to allow Carmel and CG in. If this does not happen, CG and Carmel will be in some serious trouble for football scheduling. However, I am not sure why the HCC would turn this down. The money and competition is too good.
  16. I am with ya on this. Expecting some news here shortly...
  17. Was unaware Indian Creek was open. Just saw where the head coach was gone mid way through the season. Not sure why though. Indian Creek usually is a strong program!
  18. I think another interesting dynamic is when the IHSAA releases what they are doing with the classes next year. If Cathedral and Zionsville move up as they should, as well with any other teams experiencing growth (Harrsion, Valpo, Jeffersonville, potentially Whiteland), who will go where in 6A? Which or if any will drop down? There will definitely have to be some movement in sectionals.
