I think they would prefer to be in the Indy area rather than Evansville

Conference Indiana is stuck. Terre Hautes make it difficult and they really do not have a true place. Bloomingtons and Columbus North need to find a true home.

When would these plans go into place?

Still rather them play an Indiana school. I know it’s a big time matchup and I know for CG’s sake that they are struggling to find games. I love INDIANA high school football. I don’t mind these matchups every so often but I feel people want them all the time now. It is ridiculous that these “MIC” schools won’t play CG or Carmel. Seems more towards CG.

What class is St. Edward in?

Looks like it will be held in Massillon. Paul Brown Tiger Stadium. 4 games over the course of 2 days.

Mid state is a better conference. I would feel some of those conference Indiana schools would love a shot to join mid state. I believe all schools would be fine with tech joining. They need to add schools for scheduling purposes. Especially football. Going from 6 to 7 would definitely help. Columbus East potentially if they ever get tired of their opponents, but I feel that is a super long shot.

Definitely meant 2023 lol. Still have 2022 on my mind. There is a potential for Tech. They definitely need a place to go in a year.

Who is the favorite and what are some things to look for this upcoming season in Conference Indiana? Is there a chance at a state title in the future for this conference? Used to be regarded as one of the best in the whole state. Now lots of talk about the future of this conference. What is on the horizon? Potentially departures? Potential adding of schools?

I hope it is. I believe that is what everyone is thinking it is at the moment.

So is it truly better for BD to replace CG with them? What is really truly better for Indiana football? What is better for the Ihsaa?

Is it that great for Indiana high school football though really?

In all reality, do the other sports even matter? Financially they need football and basketball. It’s the only sports that make money for the school. Other sports lose money.

Looks like Ben Davis will play IMG now for week 4. That takes the previously scheduled game of CG vs Ben Davis.

I also would love to know which MIC schools truly do not want CG and Carmel and which ones are open for them coming back. To me it still seems pretty silly for those schools to kick them out and then want to continue playing them. Kind of a weak outlook to me.

Looks like CG has weeks 5,7 open. Hearing they are struggling to fill that. Also, may have a potential week 4 open as some Ben Davis faithful seem to think they have another game they’d like to play in that week instead.

I see this as a potential. Who would make up that Southside conference? You would think that some of those MIC schools now would likely try and join either of those. The MIC will still live on, but it will never be the same. The MIC made a huge mistake by getting rid of Carmel and CG. And Carmel and CG made a huge mistake by automatically thinking they were set to join the HCC. Something has got to give soon.

I take back my guesses. Speaking with some pretty good sources that I consider solid, it does not sound good for a Carmel and CG return to the MIC. Many of those MIC schools are taking CG off their schedule. Breaking contracts even for this season…

Article came out this past summer of Arsenal Tech leaving the NCC. When is this taking place? According to John Harrell they are still in conference and playing NCC teams for next season. what is their plan in joining a conference in the metro area? Is there any other news on the whole MIC/HCC or any conference realignment? Feels like it’s gone dark.

I personally feel that there were many 4A teams that could’ve won 5A. I think to most people, 5A is just a lower tier of 6A. An “extra” 32 teams. I know it is not intended that way nor do I feel it will be like that every year. If I had a say, the most fair way to divide this up is have 6A at 32. And class 1A at 32. Then go through and place 64 (or 62,63) in classes 2,3,4,5A. I feel this would create much more of an equal setting and allows that very small schools to have their class just like the largest 32.
