Winning the district could be the same thing as winning the conference. That would have meaning and maybe even more as you fight for the playoffs. You could have all district teams just like all conference teams. You essentially get the same outcome and it makes it better for playoffs. You would not have the argument for computer rankings or some committee. And again, scheduling is easy!

IHSAA should get rid of conferences. Enforce Districts that are re drawn, aligned with location, success factor and class obviously. Use the district play records to determine seeds within the tournament. Get rid of conference play and meaningless records. Could still have a couple out of district games of course, but use district play to determine seeds for tournaments. Not that hard. Would also help scheduling issues with schools. Probably too much work from the IHSAA though…

Hoosier Hills Conference

Again, not official until numbers come out. Just something that was told to me through a couple of AD friends. Sounds like some movement of students and numbers within Bartholomew county schools. -
Hoosier Hills Conference

Interesting… Ive heard that Columbus North will be dropping down to 5A. I didn’t think that East would be dropping as well. Also, I am sure many coaches have applied and reached out about the East position correct? Any other insight on if they are big names? -
I usually like to post this as the season comes to an end. Does anybody know or would like to find where success factor points stand as we approach the semi states? Which teams will be moving or staying in the same classes next season? I know I could probably find this information through IHSAA, but I am not the best at tracking these. Also, it tends to be a little confusing with multiple 2 year cycles going on at once.

5A Tournament: OFFICIAL Thread
Indiana Fan replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
It is honestly very shocking and I can never wrap my head around why Noblesville is never better than what they are. They do not have a winning season since 2001. I realize it is a tough schedule with usually having a tough sectional, but it is a large school with an athletic community mixed with great facilities. Why can’t they have success? -

What do you believe will end up happening with HHC or schedules with HHC teams? Or in your opinion, what should end up happening? What is the most realistic? -

Many PE departments in school title the classes as wellness. My kids who have gone through school had Wellness. It’s a physical education and health classes. As far as the big schools when it comes to head football coaches, I do not believe any of them should be teaching more than 2-3 classes a day depending on the school schedule. It is too big of a job with too much responsibility. -

You think LN should be a higher seed in the South? Sagarin has them at #3 seed -
6A Tournament Sagarin Seeded

Probably how it should be yes. I think if I were to do the 1-4A, I would seed 1-8 in each sectional. -

This is straight from Sagarin ratings. Which I have expressed in the past that I am a firm believe of sagarin. In my opinion, there are only a couple of flaws with how the seeds would come out in this case, but it’s pretty darn close most years. -
Here is a look at what the 5A bracket would be if the IHSAA chose to seed the tournament based off of the Sagarin ratings. Still split north and south with 17 teams in the south and 16 teams in the north. NORTH: #1 Merrillville vs #16 Hammond Central #8 Valpo vs #9 FW Northside #5 Warsaw vs #12 McCutcheon #4 Concord vs #13 SB Adams #3 Michigan City vs #14 Munster #6 Hammond Morton vs #11 Kokomo #7 Chesterton vs #10 LaPorte #2 Lafayette Jeff vs #15 Goshen SOUTH: #1 New Pal vs Winner of #16 TH North & #17 Anderson #8 Bloomington North vs #9 Floyd Central #5 Whiteland vs #12 Castle #4 East Central vs #13 Columbus East #3 Bloomington South vs #14 Seymour #6 TH South vs #11 Franklin #7 Plainfield vs #10 Evansville North #2 Cathedral vs #15 New Albany

Temp’s Top 25 (After Week 7)
Indiana Fan replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Geesman was at Rensselaer correct? Head coach or assistant? I know Rensselaer went through some great coaches a while back. -
Exactly… Carmel splits into 2 - Carmel high and Clay high. Could possibly split into 3. HSE &Fishers split into a 3rd.

Temp’s Top 25 (Week 3)
Indiana Fan replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Saw on Twitter ( X) or whatever they call it now, that Center Grove has 2 of their best players, receiver annd runningback, out for the season or at least most of the year. If that’s the case, could definitely change some things for them. Tough to hear Pike QB is injured. That kid is a heck of a football player. Lots of injuries thus far this season for multiple teams. -

Love little classics like this! Especially early on in the season with good weather. I wish we saw more of these.
