From what I know it was a one year contract. CG moved their schedule around last year to play Westfield after Westfield originally told them no to playing. I have a few AD friends that both confirmed this. CG wanted to continue this on, but Warren came back into their schedule. I really wish HCC would have voted CG into the conference a few years back.

Agreed. Or move Warren into LC/LN/WC. That was strange to me. Kind of lazy on IHSAA in my opinion. Also, 5A with 33 schools..?? I was under the impression they would drop the lowest 5A into 4A. Especially since there are 2 sectionals with only 7 schools in 4A now.

I think you might be forgetting that Warren Central will be in that sectional as well…NC is going to beat LN and WC?

Track works yes and will continue to work. But don’t think for a second LN isn’t practicing football as well. They are using their spring practice time for football just as much as running track if not more. Not sure what CG does as of lately.

Loved the days of 10 schools. Very competitive early 2000s.

I’ve heard rumblings of the Circle City opening the door to them…not sure if I buy it though. What they need to do is add some more talented teams. CG is still available and is on the Southside with short drives to those schools. Franklin Central is in the process of their way out of the HCC. Make a deal and work hard to get those 2 schools back in. The other sports don’t matter because they have plenty of games anyway. Southport wouldn’t be a good fit football wise, but Columbus north and Bloomington south would very much benefit from having those 2 schools on their schedule. Maybe try for Columbus East? I doubt they’d come over though. New pal or greenfield potentially? Who knows what will happen. My guess is that Conference Indiana will officially be obsolete come 2026-2027. Will be a sad day because of the history in that conference.

Indystar reported that cathedral will be moving down to 5A starting this upcoming season.

Any word on when the IHSAA will release the updated sectionals with the new rolling 2 year SF? I know there will be some changes for this upcoming season.

I am assuming that name was Kevin Wright and he took the position at Carmel. Interested to see who will be getting hired for this position. I have heard some rumors of big names as well.

This was a hot topic all over socials for a week or 2 period and now it seems to have gone cold. Any new info or speculation on this position at Noblesville. Seems to me like they have been wasting time…

Mostly older coaches. Several have been head coaches before. Not many young coaches there…do you think at some point they will need to go for younger coaches?

The split of Franklin and Whiteland in 5A south and placing Homestead with the 3 East Hamilton county schools are very odd for me.

Unsure as to why the 6A would change how they have been in the past…??? It’s the same schools with additions ones that slot right in in the north. Don’t see IHSAA switching sectionals up that much.
