  1. I used to officiate an 8-man adult league in southern Indiana. It was nuts, but they paid well and paid cash. The league told us up front they would not allow any BS and they didn’t, we had complete authority. I did it for about three years. Last game I did was a championship game and it got out of hand near the end. Last play left the center unconscious after a cheap shot and I ended the game with about 1:30 left on the clock. I took the ball, got in my truck and left. Not sure if they played after that or not.
  2. Roncalli and BHSS played in 18, first year of the contract. BHSS won, and promptly cancelled the contract. BHSS picked up Edgewood, and Roncalli picked up an Ohio school in 19. In 20 neither team could find a decent game and the elected to play a one time deal. However Covid cause BHSS to not only miss the Roncalli game, but also Chatard. I believe Chatard is the only team in the CCC that BHSS has played consistently. The season is still nine weeks long, BHSS is still missing the week 8 game for 22. Roncalli has Elder, I believe this is the second year of a four year deal. I would guess based on past experience they will either play someone really good or really bad. I know there weren’t a lot of options for week 8 in 2020.
  3. Isn’t week 8 and or 9 traditionally crossover weeks for CI and CCC? I know BHSS has seemed less than eager to play some of these games, cancelling the Roncalli 4 year contract after the first year, only to have to pick them back up when they both had open dates. Then of course the Covid hit. So my question is if BHSS has picked up Seymour for week 9, what does this mean for the crossover games? Seemed like a great idea with competitive games even though CCC is typically smaller schools.
  4. Not hard to figure out, the particularly in the money making sports. The power shift from metro schools to township schools, and now to the suburban schools. Many reasons for it, but it always boils down to two factors, numbers and socioeconomic.
  5. IC has some history of decent ball. I think the support is there.
  6. Potentially. I’m privy to some info I can’t share. I can say a good friend of mine who’s an Indy area AD says there’s all kinds of proposals flying around. I think taking the haves out of the HCC and the MIC and going their way, the have nots do the same thing and go their separate way makes a lot of sense. There has been bit of a power shift going on, it’s moving from the townships to the suburbs.
  7. I believe limited contact period has/will begin around this time of December. I would guess most teams in the state are beginning in school out of season limited contact sessions.
  8. Here is exactly the reason I quit worrying about this crap years ago, you can have any kind of system you want, if you’re not going to live with it, what’s the point? #2 ranked crew who was eligible was sitting at home this weekend. #23 crew who was SS eligible did not work a regional. Rumor has it the 6A crew was observed yesterday for the 8th time this season, can ANYONE explain the point of that? Perhaps I’m jaded, perhaps I’m just cynical, or perhaps I’m just tired of being pissed on and being told it’s raining.
  9. Inflation is demonstratively an over abundance of money, who controls the money supply?
  10. As far as the Rittenhouse trial, first you tell us it’s because judges and prosecutors are lazy, now it’s because the prosecutor wasn’t smart. Which is it Scooter? Could you please point to the posts where I supported the protesters on January 6? You’re full of shit.
  11. So you would have us believe, that the going’s on on January 6, were so dire, such a threat to our nation, so damning, yet judges and prosecutors are too lazy to prosecute them? Sure, makes perfect sense to me. God only knows there are no hot shot young prosecutors out there wanting to make a name for themselves. Would you care to share with the group what strain you’re smoking, I’d love some for myself.
  12. Agree hats off to Coach Cooley and his staff. Good to see him have some success after being in a couple of less than ideal situations.
  13. Perhaps had they had school choice, things would have turned out better for them.
  14. Curious if any of our legal types have listened to these proceedings? In listening to jury instructions this morning, the judge had three days to come up with jury instructions and he has stumbled and stuttered through this whole thing. I believe the trial is a sham, this prosecutor has clearly been pressured into charging this young man without having a real case. That being said, I’m also curious as to our legal guys take on the judge’s behavior during the trial?
  15. 1) Perhaps with age comes wisdom, the wisdom to realize that engaging with people like you is not a worthwhile exercise. 2) Coup attempt? How many people involved have been charge with treason, insurrection, or any of the scary words the media likes to throw around? 3) Perhaps your miserable attempts to bully me have driven me away? 4) Why wrestle with pigs?
  16. I’m reminded of what Joe Goodman told me when I congratulated him on number 200, in his gravely voice he said “well in reality it just means I’ve been doing this a long time.” In our case we're just too lazy to start a new thread, besides ain’t this one ain’t broken.
  17. It would seem just another big game in a long line of big games for two pretty good Football programs.
  18. How many coaches and AD actually understand it. We’ve heard some of this in this very forum.
  19. I had an incident many years ago when I was coaching where I refused to let my team take the field with what I deemed unsafe weather conditions. There is a back story, I’ll spare you the gory details. We were on the road, I called my AD and explained the situation. He said he had my back, do what I felt was best for the safety of our players. Ultimately we ended up playing, after I deemed it safe for us to return to the field. And the game went on without incident. But after some discussion with my AD, I found out, the IHSAA takes withdrawing, forfeiting, not playing a scheduled game is in fact a very serious deal with them. We had no issues, but as a coach, my players safety will ALWAYS come first.
  20. Bigger question will Mrs. Lysander allow him to wonder that far away from home unattended. I would trust her judgment on this issue.
