  1. How does one keep up with other state's programs? I am assuming they have their own versions of the GID? Anyone have those links? I'd like to follow the surrounding states (Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Illinois), then some of the big boys like Florida, Texas, and Cali.
  2. Friday Adams Central vs. Lutheran - Two massive offenses meet two stingy defenses. This game will come down to whoever wants it more. Adams Central by 1 Brebeuf Jesuit vs. Gibson Southern - The Titans have one of the best cultures in small class football, expect them to pack LOS. The Braves might make this one closer than some expect, though. Gibson Southern by 6 Zionsville vs. Cathedral - Either the Eagles or the Rocks are coming up with an upset this weekend... the Irish aren't letting it happen on Friday. Cathedral by 15 Saturday Andrean vs. Mater Dei - This is the most interesting matchup to me. On one side, we got arguably the favorite out of the South. On the other side, none of the top three from the North made it to LOS. Instead, we have a team that was able to capitalize on the opportunities given to it. Did the Fighting 59er's get lucky with an Eastside team that was worn down? This one will be good. Mater Dei by 3 Northridge vs Mount Vernon - This one, unfortunately for the Raiders, is going to be the most lopsided. Marauders end the Cinderella season. Mount Vernon by 20 Westfield vs Center Grove - I know what you're going to say: "you just said above that the Rocks were going to get the upset!" I did indeed say that, hypothetical internet stranger. That doesn't stop me from also thinking that the Trojans are still the better team. The Shamrocks will need to pull every single trick out of the bag to pull this one off. If they can punch the Trojans in the stomach hard and early, they could pull it off. That said, Center Grove by 8 I might be biased, but I still think the North could pull a couple out of the hat this weekend, don't count your physically superior Southern chickens yet.
  3. Okay so I can see how S&C can solve the physicality issue, but not sure how it is supposed to add height to a kid or 50lbs to an 18yo with a sky high metabolism. Size at the high school level is very difficult to train because these are physically developing children. That's why you see colleges chase after the big boys, even if they can't move all that well. Because speed and agility can be taught, size can't. Central Indiana schools have more big boys because they have more students, period. The larger a sample size, the more likely you are to have outliers. The FW area and the Region just don't have the numbers to compete with the Indy area in terms of size. That said, however, (before @temptation comes flying in to say I told you so) that doesn't mean us Northern teams can't schedule and scheme to make ourselves as competitive as those Indy teams.
  4. Andrean at Eastside - The Blazers have now beaten arguably no. 1 and no. 2 in 2A. The 59er's might not be on the level that the Knights and Panthers were, but that doesn't mean the Blazers can overlook them. A team doesn't get this far into the tournament on luck (unless you're Tri 👀), this could easily become a trap game if the Blazers are looking ahead to State. I think they stay focused. Eastside by 5 Adams Central at North Judson - The Jets are just a step above everyone else in the North, including the Bluejays. Congrats to Coach Lambert's team, though, for building what looks like a consistent and successful program. They might just make it to LOS in the next couple years. Adams Central by 18
  5. I know what these words mean, and I understand the sentence, but I have no idea what you mean by it. Like is it supposed to be sarcastic? Are you making fun of me? I’m genuinely baffled on this one 😂
  6. From my topic about this: The Saints welcomed in the Panthers last week and just dominated from kickoff to kneel down. Playing a rival can do special things for a team. So can the fact that you might be related to half of your teammates. Zionsville had a brutal regular season schedule that has them more than prepared for the Fort's Fighting Tippmanns. Zionsville by 20
  7. Shield's Field, on their campus. Corner of Washington Center and Clinton in Fort Wayne.
  8. Passing thought: I know the SIAC has had a thread that has lasted all season, and the HHC thread has been going since 2019. How about a NEIGN (Northeast Indiana GameNight) thread for next season? I know the SAC has some supporters on the forum, and so does the NE8, ACAC, and NECC, just not as many as some of the other conferences. It'd be nice if people from NE Indiana could have their own dedicated thread instead of being spread out across the forum. Said thread would encompass 35 teams across 4 conferences. Any thoughts?
  9. Agreed. I could flip Dwenger and Carroll but only because I think they both have about the same chances this Friday.
  10. So I basically included teams that fell under the Northeast Indiana GameNight umbrella. This includes the SAC, NE8, ACAC, and NECC. I didn't wanna call it the "Northeast Indiana Teams" thread, because I knew that would include teams that I wasn't planning on talking about. And growing up in Fort Wayne, I've always considered Auburn, to Columbia City, to Huntington, to Decatur, to the state line, and everything in between to be "Fort Wayne" area.
  11. Westfield at Carroll - The Rocks come to the Fort this Friday after a scare against the Royals last week. While the Chargers dismantled the Tigers and their "Bart Ball", the Rocks needed a last minute field goal to lift them to the dub. The Chargers come into this game focused. If they can go into halftime with the lead, they might just have an upset. Westfield by 13 Bishop Dwenger at Zionsville - The Saints welcomed in the Panthers last week and just dominated from kickoff to kneel down. Playing a rival can do special things for a team. So can the fact that you might be related to half of your teammates. Zionsville had a brutal regular season schedule that has them more than prepared for the Fort's Fighting Tippmanns. Zionsville by 20 Brebeuf Jesuit at Norwell - These Knights have played well this season, and have risen to nearly every challenge thrown their way this year. The Braves, however, are simply better. Those Indy Catholic schools are something else. It might not be a score blowout, but I fully expect the Braves to soundly win this one. Brebeuf Jesuit by 15 Eastbrook at Eastside - Just about everyone in the state will have their eyes on this one. Two unstoppable offenses meet two immovable defenses. Flip a coin and take your pick. Will the Blazers' win over the mighty Knights last week have them feeling lax this Friday? I think not. Give me the homefield heros. Eastside by 2 Adams Central at South Adams - The Starfires have improved since their Week 6 loss to the Jets. Just look at their grind-out win over the Bears two weeks ago, a team who shut them out in Week 5. Unfortunately for them, the Jets have also done nothing but improve. Adams Central by 26
  12. You are correct. I was a little distraught still when I posted and forgot who was in the regional lol
  13. Finals: Warsaw 0-36 Carroll Snider 20-42 Dwenger Wayne 6-42 Mississinewa Eastside 21-16 Luers I work second shift and was mostly listening to the Snider game, but I was very disappointed in their performance. I don't know if they were just shook by the close game with Northrop last week, or if they were bit by the injury bug, or what... such a sad way to end a season for a team that exceeded expectations this year. Good luck to the Saints, y'all have a beast in Valpo next week. I didn't see much of the Luers game, mostly just checked the score now and then. They lost to a very solid Blazers team, Who I also wish all the luck to. My heart goes out to the Knight's seniors... to come up ~just~ short last year in the State game, they wanted nothing more than to come out on top of the State this year. They ran through the SAC, beating almost all the perennial powerhouses, and looked poised to finally take back the 2A crown. Hopefully this isn't just a one time thing, I'd love for Luers to rejoin the ranks as one of SAC's best. Fort Wayne football is the most exciting when Dwenger and Snider aren't in control of the city. Godspeed to all the teams left in the tournaments. From this week on, I'll be cheering for BD, Carroll, and Adams Central. (Just saw that Leo lost as well tonight. Upset central all across the Fort tonight.)
  14. Gotta make it up to Georgetown and have some Ziffles. Honestly, it's a coin toss on if you get good food, but when you do it's amazing. It used to be and my family's go to spot after my games at Snider. They have good pizza, ribs, and chicken. Oh, and lots of cold beer for @Yuccaguy lol Powers is also great if you don't mind waking up at 4 am and emptying your bowels. Definitely worth it though.
  15. Half of the SAC is playing for hardware tonight. Lots of great games all across the state. If you're not at a game, I hope you've got good internet access so you can stream all the games. Go Panthers!
  16. Not sure about successful on the field, but definitely successful in helping teach young men valuable life lessons: Smith Academy for Excellence in Fort Wayne. Actually, as I was typing this, I decided to pull up their school's website, and under the athletics page, it says they have previously participated in flag football and are currently trying to put together an IHSAA sanctioned contact team! Would be great to see a school that is TRULY dedicated to setting up young men for a good future to have a football program.
  17. Yes, Luers is ~just~ off Calhoun, so @statmurp_10 is technically right, he's just doing a bit of trolling lol
  18. Warsaw at Carroll - The Chargers won in a more convincing fashion over the Spartans last Friday than they did in Week 7. The Tigers will have had three whole weeks to prepare for this game though, come this Friday. Will it be enough? Carroll by 13 Snider at Bishop Dwenger - Both the Panthers and the Saints were given more than they bargained for last Friday. Were they both looking ahead? Regardless, both teams are chomping at the bit to finally play one another in the playoffs. Panthers restart their sectional dominance. Snider by 9 Wayne at Mississinewa - The Generals proved me dead wrong in the score category, but dead right in the improving program category. The Indians might want to watch out, Haydock is getting hot at the right time. Mississinewa by 14 Eastside at Bishop Luers - The Sag favors the Knights by 7.5. Offensive and defensive averages favor the Blazers by 2.5. Strength of schedule is in the Knights favor. What does Luers Field look like on Friday? Watch this one for sure folks. Bishop Luers by 3
  19. Couldn't agree with you more on this. Definitely one of the most exciting sectionals and regionals in the state!
  20. Homestead at Carroll - Chargers welcome the Spartans to their home this week, new stadium gives them the edge. Carroll by 6 Northrop at Snider - Panthers prove once again that they own Spuller. Snider by 35 North Side at Bishop Dwenger - Can the Saints redeem themselves from a mediocre regular season with a deep run into the playoffs? Probably not, but the Legends give them somewhere to start. Bishop Dwenger by 26 Wayne at Delta - I think the Generals are on a path to build a good program. The Eagles prove too much for this upcoming team. Delta by 11 Concordia at Norwell - I don't follow a lot of teams outside of the SAC, and the Knights are not one of them. But from what I see, this is a highly underrated program. Cadets get shut out. Norwell by 31 Bishop Luers at Prairie Heights - The Knights take out their anger from another Panther team on this Panther team. Bishop Luers by a Gajillion
  21. Panthers thump Bruins - One year the Bruins will pull an upset ala 1999 sectional championship, just not this year. Luers throttles Fairfield - Get ready for some of the most lopsided victories in the state. Carroll over Homestead - I think the Chargers are capable of making it to State, and this is step one. Wayne beats Marion - The Generals are better than their record... I think... Dwenger whups North Side - The Saints let Luers use their field this Friday, good karma carries them. Delta bests South Side - The Archers keep the SAC from advancing a team on from each game. Concordia defeats Northwestern - These teams have a combined record of 1-15... I have nothing else to add.
  22. Completely agree, it's unfair to call it like that. IMO, this wasn't a down year, but instead all the traditional non-powers in the conference were actually playing better, meaning this would actually be a tougher year in the conference. Don't underestimate the play of Northrop, Wayne, and North Side just because Luers was at the top.
