Apathy from whom?

Let’s not pretend FC has faced murderer’s row. Wins over Perry, Noblesville, Avon and a Zionsville team that was rumored to be short handed isn’t much better. They are improved and should be commended but let’s pump the brakes.

While I admire your loyalty and anything can truly happen, BD just doesn’t have it this year I’m afraid.

14-2 thus far in 2021... Franklin Central at Fishers: A true tossup game in my opinion. Two teams that have overachieved and are ahead of schedule. The Flashes may be the state's biggest surprise. Everyone expect them to be better, but not this quickly. The schedule does them no favors in October with three heavyweights on the schedule and then a potential matchup with CG in the section. I'll say their luck runs out this week in a close one though. Fishers wins 24-20. Noblesville at Hamilton Southeastern: A broken record perhaps, but two more teams that have overachieved based on preseason expectations. Noblesville seems to have come back down to earth however. HSE, on the other hand is not quite ready for the top dogs of the conference but is definitely in position to prove they are "the best of the rest." This is a feel good game for the Royals. HSE wins 41-17. Westfield at Avon: Top of the conference taking on the bottom of the conference. Avon seems to be improving weekly, but is just is not showing up in the win column. A season to forget for the Orioles. Westfield, basically sewed up the conference crown with last week's thriller against Brownsburg. They'll start slow but hit the gas in the second half. 'Rocks win 38-14. Zionsville at Brownsburg: An interesting matchup on the west side. These two teams are likely sectional partners in the next classification but for now they will take different paths. Brownsburg proved they belong last week, albeit in a loss to Westfield. Zionsville took one on the chin against HSE but I still like their chances in the 5A north. Brownsburg's speed and depth allow them to prevail. Bulldogs win 24-14. What say you?

The calendar turns to October this Friday and we will continue to sort out the MIC hierarchy. 14-3 picking MIC vs MIC contests in 2021. Carmel at Ben Davis: This appears to be a contest of two teams heading in opposite directions as Carmel seems to have found its stride since the CG loss whereas BD has not been the same SINCE their loss at CG. Who decided this would be a good homecoming matchup for BD? I guess I just have a differing philosophy. I stated that BD would have trouble recovering from their devastating rivalry loss to Warren and then history repeated itself in Lawrence Township Friday night. This game could save the season for the Giants and while I think they keep it close, Carmel ultimately prevails on the road. 'Hounds win 37-27. Lawrence Central at North Central: Two teams hungry for a win. LC (as silly as this might sound) has exceeded expectations in my book, whereas NC has been a disaster. I'll take the Bears on the road, though I am not extremely confident in either offense. Low scoring game. LC wins 20-16. Pike at Center Grove: It's Pike's turn to take one on the chin as they head to the southside. The Red Devils kept it respectable on the east side last week whereas CG continued to roll and is in cruise control. Running clock in this one. CG wins 51-7. Warren Central at Lawrence North: Warren had a classic first quarter let down after an emotional rivalry win last Friday but eventually stepped on the gas and disposed of Pike. Lawrence North got its biggest win of the season in come from behind fashion against BD. LN failed its last litmus test in attempting to elevate themselves into the second tier of the MIC as they were throttled by Carmel. This will be another opportunity and I expect a competitive game. Warren wins it late however. WC wins 34-28. What say you?

Never said they wouldn’t. Completely different topic than the character of their head coach.

Can’t speak for Bears fans but is it possible Nagy was/is the problem and not Trubisky? A line that has now been trotted out for 3+ decades… ”If the Bears only had a quarterback.”

I have an uncanny ability to read people, lol. (No seriously, where there’s smoke there is usually fire.) Clemson, the SEC and a handful of other programs are some of the worst kept secrets in sports Google is your friend.

Pike @ Warren Central

Only off by 40. Sometimes it’s tough to “rise up.” -
Over 8.5 = a lock.

He’s very much so a “look at me” type of guy who is a fake religious guy. Just Google it. Its all a sham. Google New Spring Church also. Dude fools kids, can’t fool adults.
-
As much of a “must win” as a game against a non power 5 could be. Pennix loomed good but WKU’s secondary isn’t Penn State’s obviously.
-
Ah, Dabo. Couldn’t happen to a worse guy.

Gave it away in the final 3 minutes AGAIN. Definitely not a good look.

Hammond Morton at Cathedral

A real shame for those Hammond kids. They were done a large disservice by their athletic department. Just my opinion. -
Still completely plausible but its kinda sad that CG and Carmel are carrying the water for the MIC these days. Outside of them and Warren, its hard to see an upward trajectory for any other MIC school. On the other hand, EVERY HCC school outside of Avon is trending upwards and can sell that to their kids and fanbase. But I get it, until the HCC wins when it matters folks will roll their eyes at this topic. Rightfully so. As would I. Taking nothing away from Westfield, but it just doesn't feel like a "state championship game" to me when two schools within 5 miles of 465 play at Lucas Oil. Never did in the Carmel/Warren or Carmel/CG years either. Caveat: The Merrillville fans would be nearly UNBEARABLE were they to make it to the state title game.

I think HSE could absolutely play with 2-4 in the MIC. Next three weeks will tell though. I agree on your MIC rankings and think I would still swap Zionsville and FC in the HCC (I’m fully aware of the on field result a couple of weeks ago).
