This is as clear cut of an answer as it gets. Sorry Yucca… Bob wins this match. The ball was recovered opposite of Team B sideline. Those players had no real effect on the result of the play.

I don’t have the capacity to send any video. Purely just trying to understand what was called and why. I figured after the long conference the correct call was made. This has been helpful. Thank you.

Nope, you’re doing great. It’s truly an odd ending that is hard to describe. We are getting somewhere. Just trying to figure out what actually happened. No one really knows from my point of view. The ball was recovered by the kicking team advanced a few yards before being tackled. Line to gain was goal line but here’s the kicker. It was just 3rd and goal. Does that make any difference.

Never said it went forward to the 20 yard line. If we could kick a FG that rolls forward to the 20 after being blocked I’m certain this question would not be asked. That would be about a 40 yard attempt. I said it settles around the 20 yard line and Team A recovers as time expires. The ball was blocked backwards from the 5 to the 20, never crossing the LOS. During the play, immediately after the block and during recovery Team B’s sideline empties. Never mentioned illegal participation either. I’m purely asking what the call would be. A flag was thrown, a long conference occurred and the game was over. No signal was given.

LOS was 5 yard line. Ball blocked backward to around. 20 yard line. Team A recovers. Flag thrown for Team B entering field of play during live play.

Team A lines up to kick a FG to win the game. Team B blocks field goal. Ball settles around Team B 20 yard line as time expires. Team A recovers. During the recovery Team B sideline empties onto the field in celebration because they don’t realize the play is still live. What’s the call?

My understanding is you can push the pile but not the ball carrier. So make sure he's up in it!

Sectional is right around the corner. Seems this season has flown by. MSC Sectionals 23 (4A) 32 (3A) and 39 (2A) and PLAC Sectionals 40 and 48 look fairly competitive. What's everyone's thoughts at this point? I'm not sure there is a clear favorite in either one except maybe East Central in 23. NH has the size and style to go head to head with Heritage Hills in 32 and Charlestown has yet to play to their full potential I believe. 39 looks to be shaping up as a rematch between Btown and Triton Central. Valley will likely have their hands full with Providence being the hot team in 48. Paoli has a good chance of moving out of 40. Would be great to representation from both conferences in regional this year and it looks as if that could be a possibility. Pairings happen Oct 8. Can be streamed on https://www.ihsaatv.org/

Realistically producing a good basketball team and football team are 2 very different things and not comparable at all. 2A football is very competitive in this area. Their conference is getting stronger and and the sectional is tough. They've never had a chance to build off of regular season success. Winning helps cure a lot of problems.

3A: Bishop Chatard vs Lawrenceburg

If you really can't understand the demographic difference between public and private schools, I suggest you sign up to be a substitute at a couple nearby public schools for a couple reasons. One, they probably are in dire need of subs and two, it will not take long for your eyes to be opened. -

How in the world does a team have 12 players and not one single coach, including the ones up on the press box, not scream their heads off at the officials to bring it to their attention. Is it a penalty? Sure is. Would it have helped them have a better chance of winning? Sure could have. Did it decide the outcome of the game? Maybe. Unfortunately, the game is over. I see no way of a game being replayed because of this. That would be a terrible precedent to set. I'm not saying I wouldn't be very upset to see this if I was on staff at CP. You trust the crews at tournament time to be on point, but I'd be a little more upset and a bit embarrassed that no one on our sidelines caught it.

Sadly, it does look like this will be the last week for MSC/PLAC.
