  1. Wonder if those “mega” schools can put together a football roster the size of Cathedral’s?? 😉
  2. Fauci and Biden told us that if 70% of the public was vaccinated, they would stop the pandemic through herd immunity. They were wrong. The states that have achieved this are not seeing a cease in the transmission of the virus. Influenza kills on average 30-65K in the US each year. Do you challenge everyone that doesn't get their annual flu vaccine? Or do you decide the level of risk before judging others?
  3. I was absolutely around when the polio vaccines and boosters and received them myself...along with smallpox. I just don't remember my father sticking his nose into other people's business and judging. My parents made the choice for their family. Had someone told my father what to do, he would have kindly told them to mind their own business. I am not an anti-vaxxer....my family have had there shots including the booster. But its none of your business what I chose, and certainly no one's business what a handful of Colts players decide what is best for them and their families. We already know that having the vaccine, while lessening the spread, does not prevent it. And we don't know yet the long-term impacts....not after a few months. We also know the risk is not uniform and that certain demographics are at higher risk than others. While I believe in the vaccine, I have no right to impose my beliefs on others. You don't get to decide morals for everyone....you may think you have that right, but you don't.
  4. OUCH!! Sounds like your Dad knew great football!!
  5. When did an individual's medical choices become everyone's business??
  6. I was reading one of the reasons he left coaching was his fear of flying. As an analyst, he did travel in his Madden Cruiser bus. He was a legend as a coach.....those Raider teams...wow! Stabler, Sistrunk, Upshaw, Casper, Guy, Biletnikoff, Branch, Van Eeghen, Hayes, Villapiano, Tatum, Hendricks, Banaszack, Davis, Otto, etc. Man, his teams were fun to watch.....
  7. I am not sure why you would throw Westfield out of the equation....considering they made it back to back through the Northern Region of the state quite easily. CG is middle of the pack when it comes to 6A schools, and also made state appearances and won state with even smaller enrollments. To not study them would be foolish Please don't.....it is NOT the only factor and repeating yourself with me is a colossal waste of your time.
  8. Eric Moore nominated again for the All-American Bowl Coach of the Year......he was the recipient last year https://aab.nbcsports.com/2021/12/28/finalists-selected-for-2022-all-american-bowls-coach-of-the-year-award/
  9. Yet the last 2 years, CG and Westfield played for the 6A state championship....... perhaps enrollment isn't the only variable in the success equation...... Perhaps the schools previously mentioned in this threas can study their formulas??
  10. IU and Vanderbilt....the only 2 FBS programs this past season without a P5 victory........

  12. I thought that was what you meant. Center Grove's Nate Wozniak, was listed as 6'10" during his playing days at TE for Minnesota. (Gophers)
  13. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Davis_High_School
  14. Really done talking about this....my concern is you hijacking this thread and totally misrepresenting me in my words and feelings about Brady Allen. Beyond inappropriate.
  15. There is a difference between 3A and 6A. There is a difference in competition between the 2 conferences. And that was the same discussion back and forth during the Kiser and Bell year. That doesn't mean I stated the young man wasn't good.....I have plenty of statements on this forum indicating I felt he was outstanding. I don't care one second about your opinion about Center Grove. Its your dime. I've made it clear that I accept the qualifications of those folks for MaxPreps, HSFA and USA Today well over yours. So you can pontificate yourself to death...as usual. Its one thing for you to be the forum blowhard...every forum has one. But you are simply rotten to the core. And that is a completely different issue.
  16. that is not attacking or discrediting anyone.....there was a difference between him and Curry. Those are facts. I see you left out the repeated times I stated he was an outstanding player.
  17. At no time did I ever discredit any high school football player. I even stated he was an outstanding player. I simply stated the young man we were pulling for is a better ALL AROUND football player....given he played both sides of the ball and special teams. But I also understand the history of award recipients and stated such. I never typed or stated one negative word when Mr. Allen received the award. Not one. I just wonder if you are man enough to admit this and apologize for making your above statement which is blatantly false. you are indeed pathetic
  18. Do the folks at MaxPreps and USA Today not watch high schools nationwide? Guessing those folks have a solid qualifications and invest way more time than anyone on GID to evaluate teams and talent across the country as they issue rankings throughout the season and their final rankings. I don't believe they have a motive to rank a central Indiana team in the top 10 do they? HSFA America was a little tougher on the Trojans ranking them #11th in their final poll. https://playfootball.nfl.com/discover/high-school-football-america-100/ Regardless....5th, 7th, 11th....pretty dang good. And pretty darn consistent among the 3 groups. Is it so tough to say great job fellas running the table 2 years in a row and earning national recognition both years?
  19. They have since Favre and Rodgers. Before that? Starr? Magic Man was solid I guess. I am not sure the wind is quite the same in GB and Chicago. Who is the last great QB for the Bears? Please don't say McMahon. He was solid...not great.
  20. Why would Ryan Day to that to himself? That would be like slamming your head into a brick wall. Chicago....the land where QB's go to end their careers. Given the formula now for NFL success, not sure without a great QB that can somehow survive the wind and the cold, that the Bears will a contender anytime soon. Given all the rules in place now, I don't believe we will ever see a 1985 type Bears team again..... Might be time to put a roof on that stadium and then get their QB.....
  21. We can agree to disagree. I don’t place entertainment at the top of the value chain. I realize others do. Additionally the focus more on sports are corporations than it is on the direct paying fan. Just a theory as to why an athlete will turn his back on his teammates in a big game. The money is so excessive that it drives this behavior. Too much to risk.
  22. Venable was with him for years. Both his DC and OC received promotions to head coaches at Oklahoma and Virginia respectively. Then he promotes current Clemson coaches to the OC and DC positions. Sounds like the role of a leader…develop their people. What a jerk….
  23. Perhaps athletes are overpaid? This certainly didn’t use to be an issue in the past. $$ seems to drive the “me first” behavior. Just searching for root cause…
