  1. I don't think they could have gotten Goff. LA let him go because they received a better QB option. Colts didn't have that to offer. Goff doesn't leave LA without a better QB option. I do think they looked at Stafford. Lions would have demanded way too much. The Colts future. Trade up for Mac Jones....possible. But with getting Buckner prior year, not sure how much collateral they had to trade up. And then there is the issue with development. Not sure Colts had patience to start all over. But Mac Jones sure does look like a beast for the future. Free agency? May be their best option without a 1st round draft pick this year. Just not sure of their cap space, who they perhaps couldn't resign, and if Wilson still have lots of good playing days ahead of him. Not sure how is short size and scrambling need fits in with their blocking scheme. I am not sure the Colts have the receivers that will really attract a known FA.
  2. I struggle with the entire NIL concept, knowing how hard my wife and I had to work, sacrifice and save to help our children with their educations. (and they invested as well academically, jobs, etc) We have seen to forgotten the value of an education. Also, that university football program develops that athlete and helps him/her to make it to the professional level. The athlete does not do it on their own. They get coaching, use facilities, get athletic and medical treatment, food/training tables, academic tutoring, etc. In football, they don't make it to the next level without the collegiate program investing big time in them individually and collectively. But I also see the issue of universities making big bucks using the athlete's name....and being fair. Where I really struggle with the NIL is 3 fold. 1) recruiting in general such as bait for transfers...what Charlie Batch is doing is what the NCAA has been chasing down for years...boosters gaining advantages 2) high school players getting nice payouts and they haven't done squat at the college level...ie, Quinn Ewers. 3) its not a level playing field...no way an IU can compete in football against OSU in providing bucks/payouts to prospective recruits and transfers. Let's face it....universities continue down the path as lucrative minor league systems, with unequal playing fields.
  3. He sure was special...no doubt. On another level. I would have loved to see Rod Woodson play in high school to compare. I believe Rod is the greatest player to come out of Indiana, but I judge that typically from his college and professional days. The Banks family was so athletic...little sister Janese was a heck of a basketball player.
  4. Looks like IU has a new defensive coordinator https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/33034970/sources-indiana-hires-minnesota-football-assistant-chad-wilt-defensive-coordinator
  5. that will help significantly......and be used for other major events
  6. Weak sauce man....if you're going to call out someone, ya gotta back it up. Or...just refrain from posting if you don't want to put in the effort..... Sideline warning for excessive laziness
  7. Chicago...where QB's and Coaches go to die......at least over the past few decades The NFL game has changed so much with its focus totally on the passing game since the Bears were last really successful....going to take an awful special QB to make it work off the lake.
  8. Looks like Tiawan Mullen is coming back to Btown. He should be a NFL prospect again after this season...hopefully. https://saturdaytradition.com/indiana-football/indianas-tiawan-mullen-makes-announcement-on-2022-season/
  9. Defense didn't show either....they made a rookie QB look like an all pro. Oline was so disappointing. Wentz...ugly again. Playing a 2-14 team and was manhandled in all phases....and the game meant the entire season. How does a team just lay down like that?....7 Pro Bowl players...yea right. Will be interesting to see how Irsay handles this over the next few days....
  10. says the guys that comments on every dang post.....constantly blowing the the horn How many times did I say given the NFL formula in today's era focusing on the QB, Rogers will most likely win? But I don't agree with some of what you say....much of what you say sometimes. That includes your comments about GB as a team. I should have let your comments go considering the expected response....that's on me. But you have the same option.....
  11. IU transfers in December 2021 https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/2021/12/06/indiana-football-transfer-portal-adds-emery-simmons-bradley-jennings-ledarrius-cox-patrick-lucas/6408398001/ another LB transfer yesterday from Kentucky. Hopefully, this former 4 star steps up his game https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/kentucky-transfer-linebacker-jared-casey-announces-commitment-to-indiana/
  12. Looks like another good grab…
  13. Just didn’t align with some of your comments. Not always so cut and dry as you’d like it to be.
  14. GB would hardly be the first team favored to win the SB, and didn’t. That’s why we let games play out and my comment was about year end being the best team. That’s what matters. As I already stated, Roger’s has had a great year, and in a league that places a massive focus on the QB, I expect him to win. But I understand people that make an argument for Taylor. You don’t need to keep making a case with me. I don’t really care one way or another…all good
  15. Cmon…it was based on YOUR comment of them being the best team in the league. NOTHING to do with the selection process. Less can be more…..
  16. LOL I know the process for the award
  17. We shall see if they are the best team in the league. Great regular season. But let’s allow the playoffs decide.
  18. Doesn’t mean tickets weren’t sold…game was listed as a sellout a few weeks before game. I was also there
  19. Not accurate. I was at the stadium for the Cincy game. Your bias is showing now.
  20. MVP’s shouldn’t just be mainly QB’s on only SB contending teams….but I do understand what the award has become
  21. I get it...its a QB league, especially in today's era. But Taylor wouldn't be the first RB to win MVP. But, at the end of the day...I expect a QB to win MVP....and Rogers is having one heck of a year. I do wonder if his "likability" will come into play. It shouldn't, but with the media...one never knows.
  22. I don't think you can do either very effectively without an offensive line. Certainly not at an MVP level.
  23. for both running and passing.....
  24. ESPN reported 3 years....not sure if accurate. Did indicate he was SEC co-freshman of the year in 2020...and I believe everyone got a free year for 2020 with Covid. From Dayton, so not that far from Btown. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/33007624/connor-bazelak-commits-indiana-hoosiers-college-football-transfer-portal
