  1. thank you...I had not appreciated that fact.....I assumed he was mainly just getting all the attention
  2. Rack 'em up, Sack 'em up...Give 'em hell Stars!!
  3. Mike Gundy out at Oklahoma State....been at the school since 2005. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/mike-gundy-fired-oklahoma-state-head-coach/
  4. Although Old Dominion slapped Va Tech around, didn't they?? Beat the Hokies 45-26 in Blacksburg. Maybe better than people had thought.....but I hear you on the execution
  5. Lack of P4 experience, yet he was an assistant to Saban at Bama. Sure glad they saw it that way. Starting to see "experts" talking about Cig at Florida and perhaps Bama. Hope that is just hot air and he loves Btown.
  6. The D line really got my attention...7 sacks against Illinois...by 5 different players....none being Kamara. I am not sure if he has a sack this season. Guessing he's drawing his share of attention, which is opening it up for others and they are taking advantage. This game will give them the experience of playing in a very noisy and hostile environment....they will use for the first time silent counts....and that is needed with Iowa, Oregon and Penn State all coming up.
  7. Fair statement....as I shared earlier, 4 out of the 5 on College GameDay picked Illinois to win. So much I read from college pundits on social media picked Illinois. Then immediately after the game, Illinois was overrated. Experts.... Spot on about Indiana being admitted to the "Big Boys Club". Seems its far easier for some to attempt to blow out the candles of others....I guess it makes them feel the candles burn brighter for their programs of choice. As you said...embrace the underdog...use that as motivation. Most importantly, the Hoosiers must bring their A game to Iowa City this Saturday.
  8. now THAT'S a cool helmet!!
  9. As you well know coach, that's what a good coach does...exploits weakness. That being said, not on the secondary Illinois gave up over 300 rushing yds. IU won both LOS. Besides the 7 sacks, Illinois held to a total of 2 yds rushing. Indiana State had 39 total rushing yds. If it wasn't for one blown coverage leading to the lone Illini TD, they barely have 100 yds total offense. Hoosier D really showed up.
  10. Ouch!! Reminds me of my 7th grade year...team went 0-8 and we didn't score a point. 2 TD's called back my penalties....on the same guy. Student body named us the "The Zips". Following year, same crew went 6-2. The best part, we won our first game 2-0 on a safety....a total of 9 games without scoring a TD!!
  11. Colts #2 scoring offense in the league with only 1 punt in 3 games....I guess a feat not done in over 85 years. https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/news/indianapolis-colts-accomplish-feat-not-123234932.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAM4j6JekzeuDUhduP8X6Og2-np9VVbUrg4ZmNeDqpmXWhYBM4CiR5pq71O-FbZn8mLEql0PfOi0TZD226pdUw6BimeIcKEbEsk7V1JHbLYoT5PrpZ79yOfskBysbwcMyvrsRdirxtiW_Zt0O5TFD2psOYapAdTtBfSNuIWeQ9C7D Colts also have a franchise record for most points scored after 3 games into a new season...even including the Manning, Luck and Unitas eras. https://www.si.com/nfl/colts/news/colts-offense-sets-record-after-trouncing-titans Who would have thought this going into the season??? Pretty incredible. Kenny Moore and Alex Pierce injuries are attention getting...guessing they will both be out for the game in LA against the Rams. That will be a tough one.
  12. My good buddy is a Penn State grad and has taken me to games in Happy Valley. He told me after watching IU Saturday night, he's darn glad its a home game for the Nittany Lions and hope they consider another white out game. IU really impressed him....let's just hope the Hoosiers sustain and stay healthy!
  13. Oh yeah…many of remember when a Bielema coached Wisconsin team dropped 83 on IU at Camp Randall. No mercy. Can’t lie….yesterday knowing that his 9th ranked team got 63 dropped on them (could have been worse) was extra sweet.
  14. Experts…. Been in the stands at Memorial Stadium many times over a lifetime. Never witnessed anything like that before from an Indiana team. Incredible. Mendoza 5 TD’s to 4 different receivers, 21-23 all over 3 quarters. 7 sacks, gave up a total of 2 yards rushing for the game, while rushing for over 300 yds. I’ve never seen a Hoosier team this strong and this fast. Just got to keep it up going into a tough place to play at Iowa next week. Man, it was a joy to see this type of performance.
  15. think I read first Tulsa win in Stillwater since 1951
  16. Center Grove 31 Trotwood-Madison OH 20 Final
  17. Fair comment....I remember years ago watching David Carr QB the Texans against the Colts in the RCA Dome. That poor guy was given the reins immediatly on a poor team and he would just get pummeled. Always wondered what if he would have landed on a really good team in a system where he could have developed...would his outcome been different? Then I used to think of Tom Brady....what if he had been drafted by the Texans vs the Pats??
  18. fair point...I have always heard about the 3 points given for hosting, but wasn't sure if really accurate. Your example makes sense
  19. they are in a position not only to win, but win big. My guess is that they will not take much mercy on Purdue.
  20. ESPN analytics for what they are worth
  21. Does the hometeam automatically get 3 points?? Does that factor into the spread?
  22. Guess in your definition "giving a team all they can handle" means playing 3 quarters of a game. OK...I read you. Hardest hitting D ever that gave up 500+ total yds. (300+ rushing) That's certainly a ribbon to be worn. Look, lots of respect for the Carroll program. But you've embellished and left out key facts of the game. But, sometimes homers do that. I understand. Go back and look at enrollments when CG won a number of their largest class state titles and tell me what you see. Regardless of today's enrollment, CG and Westfield are 16 and 18 respectively. Carroll and Homestead are not that far behind them. I think coaches can and already have done excellent things with programs those size.
  23. No...it doesn't bother me that Carroll had some good hits during the game. I would expect this...as I would when CG plays Warren, Carmel, BD, Brownsburg, etc. You didn't say Carroll was competitive...you stated.... Your statement wasn't accurate. I don't care if you were in the stands or watching at home. Carroll hung in there for almost 3 quarters and CG opened it up. CG never trailed in this game. Carroll got a late score when the game was decided to make it look closer than the 11 point spread. You keep referencing the physicality of Carroll, while not acknowleding their D, also gave up 500+ yds of offense. 300+ of those yds were rushing. That doesn't sound like an incredible D. Congrats on some "hard tackling"....my guess if you go back and look at the stats, the Carroll safeties racked up most of those tackles. No one is "triggered"...just pointing out some embellishment. Would Wright ever take a job at a school of 2500? Not sure. Coach Moore took one at a school <2500. He's done pretty dang good. CG and Westfield are #16 and #18 respectively....both less than 2900.....they are 2 of the elite state programs. Carroll and Homestead pretty close to them.
  24. I think you are totally missing the point... Your bias is obvious man. To say no one can comment if they watched a high school game on TV is just silly. They may just had far better sightlines that someone there. I don't care how much CG won the game by...good grief. Guess you need a moral victory, huh? How about this? Just glad the finesse Trojans who amassed over 500 yds of total offense barely escaped with their lives against a far more physical Carroll team that hung in the game for 3 quarters. Is that better for you??? 🤪
