  1. I would rank Oscar #1 for the fro. Bake McBride would make the top 5 list. Used love to watch Bake take off his batting helmet. Never knew how those guys could keep their hats on while running the outfield. Bake sported the classic beard as well.
  2. Apologies...it a weakness.... I'm seeing help to combat this issue from an outstanding source....
  3. What I have heard....but it is someone speaking for him https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/deebo-samuel-trade-rumors-heres-the-main-reason-why-the-49ers-star-wants-out-of-san-francisco-per-report/ https://www.si.com/nfl/2022/04/20/deebo-samuel-san-francisco-49ers-report-wide-receiver-running-back
  4. I read where he wants to stop being used as a running back....don't blame him
  5. Major league attendance this season....6 of the bottom 10 teams are American League teams. Teams that have had the DH in place for a long time. Should I believe that the Dodgers, Cards, Braves and Padres attendance is due to the DH? (focus on the highlighted home attendance) Oakland is packing them in....2700 in the stadium yesterday......7 teams avg less than 20K at home....another 17 avg less than 30K at home. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/oakland-as-see-record-low-attendance-number-for-second-straight-game/ DH is interesting....but as the past studies have shown... little correlation with attendance......
  6. Will be interesting to see how Jim Knowles can turn it around. Had pretty darn good success at OK State. https://www.si.com/college/ohiostate/football/ohio-state-football-buckeyes-name-oklahoma-state-jim-knowles-new-defensive-coordinator
  7. So...Clemson isn't a blue blood, but Duke became a blue blood the moment Coach K took over the program?......even though it took 11 seasons to win his first title. He was 85-65 over his first 5 years. I am not debating they aren't a blue blood program....I am simply saying it took a few years of sustained excellence to become a blue blood.....but not your 40-50 year timeframe criteria. If you would have read the links, you would have seen where others disagree with you about Clemson. But they had different criteria than a half century timeframe, in which I included. BTW, I never said a decade....I just don't believe it has to be 40-50 years. And if we use your criteria, there are example of teams considered blue bloods that were dominant in the earlier period of those 50 years, that are certainly not dominant today. The authors that believe there are only 8 blue bloods list Nebraska, USC and Michigan in that list. Based on their performance over the past 10-20 years, I struggle with calling those blue blood programs any longer. Good discussion....I was just trying to understand your comment about 40-50 years of sustained excellence to be considered a blue blood.
  8. Just curious as to why it takes a half century of sustained top performance to be considered a blue blood. I understand an extended period...but 40-50 years?? Coach K was there 40 years....but his Duke program was nowhere near a blue blood program during his first decade. So even if a blue blood for 3 decades, he doesn't meet your 40-50 years criteria. BTW, regarding Clemson, and many other programs....I guess it boils down to who is defining blood bloods. I look at the articles that define 8 schools as blue bloods and one could argue that based on the last 2 decades, they should be falling off. Schools such as Nebraska, USC, Texas, etc. But using the criteria below, Clemson is considered a blue blood. https://lastwordonsports.com/collegefootball/2020/03/06/top-25-college-football-blue-bloods/ https://www.offtackleempire.com/2020/1/24/21078249/what-defines-a-football-blue-blood-in-2020
  9. Based on that definition, Duke would not be a blue blood in college basketball.........nor would Clemson be considered in college football. 2 decades is not enough???
  10. No flag, no penalty. Nothing to debate.
  11. Mike was quite the athlete with a very nice baseball career at Notre Dame. Check out his bio https://und.com/roster/mike-dury/
  12. Its commonly called "Frack" at CG. Coach Moore has won state titles in both football and track. Guessing that puts him on a very short list. Has coached a number of individual state champions in track, some going on to have nice careers at the next level.
  13. Until Ryan Day can do this.....he will never be a top 10 coach...... Wonder why Kelly never broke this out during his ND days....who knew of this talent?
  14. definitely not the first.....ask Aaron Rodgers https://clutchpoints.com/patriots-news-aaron-rodgers-says-patriots-qb-tom-brady-is-a-unicorn-for-playing-at-age-41/ https://nesn.com/2018/10/aaron-rodgers-has-immense-respect-for-tom-brady-hes-a-unicorn/
  15. Looks like he didn't run it because of temps....although I would have thought the indoor facility would have been heated.... https://www.si.com/college/purdue/football/wide-receiver-david-bell-showcases-skills-at-purdue-football-pro-day#:~:text=Bell%2C who posted a time,in the 40-degree weather. I was reading that his 4.65 40 time put him below the 5th percentile for all WR's. He's ranked 1578 of out 2613 WR's from 1987 - 2022. Scored around a 4 out of 10 for his Relative Athletic Score. (original was <3) https://cowboyswire.usatoday.com/lists/cowboys-2022-nfl-draft-profile-david-bell/ https://steelersdepot.com/2022/04/2022-draft-wide-receiver-prospects-relative-athletic-scores-ras/ https://www.profootballnetwork.com/david-bell-demarvin-leal-hurt-their-nfl-draft-stock-following-the-2022-nfl-combine/
  16. No confusion here....and my comments to you supported comments made in the past about a fit for the Colts. Simply clarifying my previous comments and I stand behind them. I hope and believe Bell will succeed....but there are questions. Not sure why you continue mislabeling my identify....now that's confusion.
  17. Because QB's and WR's are the same???? They need the same attributes? I didn't question if Bell would be successful. I questioned if the Colts need 2 of the same type of possession receivers, with Pittman already on the roster. If Campbell can stay healthy and with his speed, keep the field spread, it will make a possession receiver even better, and open up lanes for the TE's, and make life easier for Taylor when he cracks the 2nd layer. But if the safeties have no fear of speed...they will come up and shrink the field. That was my point about speed at the WR position. The NFL is not Big 10 football. Bell ran a 4.65 40 in the combine...that is an eye opener for ANY WR. Hopefully it was a bad day, and perhaps that will allow him to slip down to the Colts in the 2nd round. Doesn't mean he won't be successful in the NFL. Simply about diversity needed at the WR position.
  18. Wonder when Texas A&M admin is going to hold Jumbo Fisher accountable to deliver? Texas? Guess we shall see. They need to find a D that can actually stop somebody.....anybody. Brian Kelly, with his new accent and grind dancing didn't get LSU into the top 10???
  19. I'll meet anyone at the Dollar as long as we go inside, enjoy a breaded tenderloin and wash it down with a couple of malted beverages. Getting too old for this alley stuff. At my age, have become more of a lover than "wrastler".......well, don't verify that with my wife....she would probably only buy into the "too old" stuff. Takes a little more effort to convince her to "wrastle".......ok, a lot more effort.....😉
