  1. I was a guest for many months....debating to join. So I had more than ample time to observe your "behavior". Is due diligence creepy? Maybe to some. But you are way too modest.....you stand alone when it comes to "guiding", correcting and shaking down people for $$. You set the bar. But hey, please get in the last word, get that nap in recharging your batteries.....you've got work to do here....and we are all so very thankful.
  2. GID is so fortunate to have you as a volunteer “hall monitor”. Guiding people to appropriate chat areas, correcting spelling/grammar, badgering people for donations. Some would call this compulsive behavior, but other’s may label these repeated actions as passion. Hope those long naps are few and far between….GID needs you!! Keep on truckin’! 😄
  3. Wow! 7 hours after the post, this is still in your head. It's family time. Go enjoy your favorite beverage, snuggle with your significant other and check out a movie. I'm not going to put much time in this, but attached just a few examples. Seriously, have a nice weekend.
  4. Medical field? You keep making comments and assumptions about me that are grossly inaccurate. Not only is it a tad creepy, but ignorant. Now unless you are a biologist or a geneticist with some very compelling science regarding basic reproductive theories that have been proved wrong, then you don't have anything other than a political opinion, which as you commonly remind this forum, that those are best served somewhere else other than the football threads. Since I refuse to follow you any further down this rabbit hole, you ride your own horse and believe the way you want. Just realize others may not desire the kool-aid you are offering.
  5. ........or the failure by some to understand basic genetics and biology and recognition of a level playing field
  6. extra insulation comes in handy during the winter months, and sexy guys like us don't lose hair....it just moves around to other parts of the body......
  7. I agree with all.... I would add lack of a strong youth program and lack of investment by the head coach in the youth program. Strong feeders, with youth have a friday night vision, is a must.
  8. It will be tight....if they do, its only because of a very weak non-conference schedule and 8 of 12 games at home. They will lose at OSU and at Iowa. Which means they have to beat Penn State and MSU at home. We shall see. Take a lap....that was awesome!! Love it!
  9. I am not disagreeing..... How would have Tom Brady have faired if drafted by the Detroit Lions? Expansion Houston Texans? aka David Carr
  10. The officials missed that D holding call which was huge, and they also missed the Tee Higgins offensive pass interference when he grabbed Ramsey's facemask to gain an obvious advantage that led to a 75 yard TD. So I guess at the end of the day, those calls balanced out in the final score.
  11. How about all the coaches and players? Wouldn't they know best? I am personally not a fan of jock sniffing sportswriters....and they blackball more people than anyone....plus are biased toward regional candidates.
  12. It’s called humor….lighten up Francis Then again, it could be a reason why the post season should count. He didn’t look like a MVP against the 49ers at home
  13. I agree there is a potential for recency bias...there would have to be a more objective equation to reduce the subjectivity.
  14. That is not always the case for MVP's. Depends on the division and conference for the given year. I've seen league MVP's pick up some pretty worthless stats over the final games. Never said that.... Saying playoff games should be a factor in the equation for those that play them. May be a "value" to his team, but doesn't mean he is the " most valuable" of all teams
  15. Playing games for all the marbles separate the wheat from the chaff
  16. Hey T...don't chip your teeth putting the gun in your mouth. Safety first! Career 11-9 in the playoffs....5-3 at Lambeau. 1 SB win. Not bad at all. Just not MVP material in the post season
  17. Great regular season Aaron....as usual.
  18. My discussion is not about racial disparity with head coach hiring, but directed toward Brian Flores as a leader. As the Dolphins were improving over the past couple of years, I asked a good friend who is a big Fins fan if he was excited about the future. His response was he was concerned about what was going on internally. I wasn't sure what he meant, so I asked for specifics. He then told me that the rumor was that Flores was considered "toxic" within the organization. I wasn't sure what he meant, but I left it. This was a couple of months ago...definitely prior to his separation from the Dolphins. I then read this opinion....and it does have me scratching my head. Without getting into the alleged racism, is it possible that Flores needs to improve and mature as a leader? In other words, does he also need to look at himself internally and see where he can improve his leadership style? I am in no way shape or form trying to diminish a bigger issue....just thinking about Flores individually. Is there some potential that he rubs people the wrong way? Now, if they prove that Miami was tanking games deliberately, then there is zero doubt the owner and management team lacks ethics and should be dealt with harshly. Go tons of respect for you Yuccaguy....we fellow Lutherans have to stick together!! https://foxsportsradio.iheart.com/content/2022-02-10-doug-gottlieb-toxic-brian-flores-looks-unlikeable-after-lovie-smith-burn/ This is where Brian Flores DOESN’T GET IT, and didn’t get it when he got fired in Miami. I hear people all the time are like ‘Well, he’s a great coach’, no one is saying that he's not, but the ‘coaching’ is only a portion of being a head coach. You have to manage ‘up’ [with the front office] and manage ‘down’ [with the players], and he couldn’t manage up. The facts are different from the feelings, they just are, and here are the facts: the general manager in Miami, the assistant general manager, the director of player personnel – they are ALL Black men. They wanted him GONE. It was an ‘us’ or ‘him’, and the owner was like ‘I’m going to side with these guys.’ When I said Flores needed to be more contrite, anyone who has ever lost a job or lost an opportunity – at some point you just got to go ‘ya know, sometimes it actually IS me.’ It’s ME and the way I handled myself. He may have been misperceived, it’s totally reasonable to go like ‘ya know, I probably came across as a little brash, a little harsh, it was my first job, I had only been in New England, I only watched Bill Belichick and how he handled things…’ His story of the disconnect with non-Patriot people is the same story we saw in Detroit [Matt Patricia], the same story we’ve seen with Charlie Weis, the same story we saw with Eric Mangini; you go through all the Patriots’ assistants it’s all the same thing, and he’s the only one going ‘nah, it wasn’t me, it was them.’
  19. Muda, you can give me all the down votes you want....truly not much of a motivator for me. My comment wasn't directed toward any one person. Pretty much most comments. Jets vs The Sharks If that you "feel" my comment in a less than positive way, well sorry...nothing personal to you intended. Hopefully, we are all just bored without football.
  20. After a few days of being away, I came back and read this thread. I will never get the lost time back......
  21. Interesting data…..from this article… ARMANDO SALGUERO: BRIAN FLORES CLAIMS RACIAL DISCRIMINATION IN NFL HIRING PRACTICES, SO LET’S EXAMINE HIS HIRING PRACTICES Flores had 20 coaches on his 2021 coaching staff, with 15 of those white and five black. Flores hired four offensive coordinators during his time with the Dolphins, including co-coordinators in 2021. Three of those four are white. Flores hired four offensive line coaches during his tenure, and three of those four are white. Flores hired two defensive coordinators during his time as head coach, one black and one white. Flores hired four quarterback or assistant quarterback coaches during his three years, and three of those four are white, with Jim Caldwell the only exception. Caldwell, it should be noted, worked under Flores for a couple of months but departed before the 2019 season began, citing health issues. Flores hired one special teams coordinator during his time as coach, that being Danny Crossman, who is white. I think that’s quite a theory that tanking is racially motivated. That would demand proof/facts.
  22. I understand and read about this. I see 2 separate but equally concerning issues that demand investigation. I just was trying to understand the post that focused on tanking. I don’t see tanking as a racial issue.
