I know some of the lower revenue earning sports that cannot award full scholarships for their entire teams (ie, track, swimming, etc) base the amount of scholarship based on athletic performance. (i.e., points earned by the athlete) I know this doesn't work for football, as the highest performers get the most NIL $$. But would love to see some type of performance indicators used...perhaps academics could be tied into that equation.

IU picks up an experienced CB out of Pitt. Ryland Gandy has 2 years of eligibility. https://hoosierhuddle.com/hoosier-blog/tag/Ryland+Gandy

it was a very good game to watch. I was pulling for the Montana State Bobcats, as NDSU has won the title many times. But the Bison deserved it, and made the big plays when they needed. Another title for the Missouri Valley Conference FCS football, the conference for Indiana State University.

BTW. congrats to McLaurin for breaking this Washington single season TD record. Years ago, was blessed to take in some games at the old RFK stadium in DC, watching such Redskin receiving stars as Art Monk and Gary Clark. Quite an accomplishment by McLaurin to earn this record.

that would be an incorrect statement. Glad we are done talking about it

perhaps if you had read the entire dialogue, you'd have better perspective to go with your opinion. Just hope the mantra on GID doesn't become one that allows people start crap in the first place by alleging ridiculous accusations, even go as far as lie about others, and then when it gets hot, just try and steer the conversation back to the topic....and get credit for doing so.

Great question...but seems there are other cultural challenges with the team, if one prescribes to McAfee's view. This is the Colts defensive captain's antics following their "impressive" win over a 4 win team in OT. Makes me question the overall leadership and maturity of this team. https://www.outkick.com/sports/zaire-franklin-pat-mcafee-suite-video

Fair enough....but you did confirm a trend...with trends there is typically a root cause I also don't find a good man labeled a racist entertaining in the least bit either
-
Some may see it senseless fighting....it beyond ticks me off when a fellow long time respected member is singled out for racist comments by another that is far from being "free of sin". The same individual alleges multiple cases of racist comments with is just pure bunk. Its a pattern that I hope we all take offense to when labels are placed on people that are both undeserving and coming from an individual that has issues of his own. I'd done....but I will darn sure stand up for an attack on good man.
-
You started this entire mess by calling another out for racism. You stated his comment "was even low for him". If you are going to claim repeated cases of racist comments by another forum member, back up your claim. I've been a member of GID for years, much longer than you....I have NEVER seen the individual you are accusing with a history of any racial comments. I think you are flat out embellishing or even lying in an attempt to justify your ridiculous claim. You stirred the pot by calling someone out for racism, (when you could have privately shared your concern) you've made repeated comments about wives, and just recently made a joke about Bob and I in a relationship. You absolutely stir crap. You have a history of starting crap, then retreating into a victim state when you are called out. You are no victim, you are not the spokesperson for morality, and you are certainly not innocent. We have to endure your "tactics" when discussing sports topics....but we shouldn't have to put up with baseless accusations smearing a member of this forum that is well respected.

I read on Twitter today, that some Colts fans brought in signs that said "Fire Ballard". They were promptly removed from the stadium. Colts ownership and leadership simply does not get it.............

I'm calling you out.....can you prove one other time in addition to your allegation? If not, you just lied. If the term he used was the worst you will ever hear, you are one blessed guy. Again, had Bob used the term "redneck" you would have taken no issue. I don't use the word, but have heard it plenty of times. I don't throw a fit. How the word is used and who is using it matters. (see below) I bet a guy like you is without sin, correct? You throw about sexual insults, including same-sex references, references to wives you do not know, and somehow you feel like you can sit in judgment of others? Does that seem right to you? You are 100% a stirrer. You have admitted repeatedly on this forum that sometimes you just like to argue. By definition, that is called "stirring the pot". BTW https://www.cnn.com/2013/07/01/us/zimmerman-trial-cracker/index.html The origin of cracker is murky. Some sources suggest it came from overseers who commanded slaves. Others say it derives from a Scottish word for boasting. At The Center for the Study of the American South at the University of North Carolina, Bill Ferris says it emerged in the 1700s as a descriptive term for drovers who used small whips to move their livestock through the pine barrens along the Gulf of Mexico. “They were basically poor people. White people. A class of people who were landless.” Initially, cracker was not a pejorative term, but Ferris says it has become one, the equivalent of redneck. Its meaning and intensity as an insult depends on who is saying it and who is listening. For example, a white who might not object to being called a cracker by another white might consider Martin’s use of the phrase offensive and evidence of ill intent. https://greensboro.com/cracker-deemed-no-hate-crime-charges-against-black-man-dropped/article_4a729374-5ca6-54e6-ba00-a2409a38e310.html ``Cracker' is often seen as a derogatory term for a poor Southern white, although it is sometimes used as a friendly term among white people. Gov. Lawton Chiles, a Florida native, has often referred to himself as a ``cracker' and a one-time minor league baseball franchise was called the Atlanta Crackers.

You obviously aren’t comprehending correctly….
-
Gotta love the make yourself a victim approach….. I don’t put the N word anywhere close to the term “cracker”. Not saying I’m right or a fan of the word. But to me, they are not apple to apple. I don’t disagree that “redneck” would be a better word. I’m not sure of the club you are referencing. I believe our moderator’s have and continue to do an incredible job. Very little thanks for what they do, and guessing they don’t do it for the pay. I know they will deal with most concerns privately, so please think hard about your claims. I do know this….Bobref is a class individual. That is from my experience over the years reading his words, debating with him, witnessing his interactions with others. You might want to get to know him better before making allegations of racism on an open forum. I bet if you would have shared your concerns privately, you would have experienced positive dialogue. Instead you insulted him publicly. Totally an unfortunate approach. Bottom line, Bob is a good man. You feel the way you wish…your prerogative. Just don’t expect everyone to buy into your views and I’m darn sure you are no victim. If you find yourself in a hole, my guess is that you dug it yourself.
-
So you criticize Bob for an inappropriate reference, then come back with "attempted humor" with a same sex comment? As I said previously, throw logic out the window with you. I'm sure to appease your sensitivity, Bob will use "southern redneck" in the future.
-
interesting what you call a "sex" joke. Then again, you went after an outstanding man with racist allegations. I've realized with you, logic and clear thinking takes a back seat. Bring it...but let's leave wives out of on-line conversations, shall we?

Give it a rest...no one on this forum has talked about a coach like you have about Jimmy boy. Inspirational to read your words coming to his defense for the scandals at UM. As Harbaugh himself has stated, his first championship allowed him to sit at the big boy table within his own family......Not hardly Mount Rushmore material. For your personal safety, I sure hope Jimmy doesn't stop walking abruptly....it would break your nose.....

Hoosiers adding more depth. They need it at OL https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-football-transfer-portal-names-to-know-ohio-state-ot-zen-michalski/ Picked up another experienced QB to back up the older Mendoza brother. Guessing this became necessary with the Tyler Cherry serious injury. Cignetti going back to his old conference. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-football-adds-old-dominion-transfer-qb-grant-wilson-from-the-portal/

Nice article focusing on what led Fernando Mendoza to select IU over other schools targeting him. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/2025/01/03/why-cal-qb-transfer-fernando-mendoza-picked-iu-football-curt-cignetti-indiana-hoosiers-portal-news/77434787007/

And tapped out of a game, 3rd and goal, because he was “tired”.
-
Excellent coach. No where near the NFL coaching legends that did win multiple championships. Dont kid yourself…rings matter. Especially in the coaching business. Attempting to blow out the candles of Saban or others won’t make Harbaugh’s burn any brighter. Your extreme man crush is duly noted.

Not great news…..

Looks like former IU QB Tayven Jackson has landed in the Big 12. Hope it’s a great fit.

perhaps he was placed on the practice squad? https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/commanders-waive-qb-sam-hartman
