Aiden Fisher...great IU linebacker and even a better person. After losing his father and step father to aggressive forms of brain cancer, he is reaching out to help others facing the same battle..... https://x.com/Jared_Kelly7/status/1951015979317698932/video/1

I agree with you about more expansion....just so many teams now. I would love to see the NFL realign divisions first with more of a regional footprint. I know that would impact some old rivalries, but the Cowboys in the NFC East? Colts in the AFC South? Miami in the AFC East? To me, there is some work to be done in this area. Future cities...I understand the CFL, but Toronto is the 4th largest city in North America, only behind Mexico City, NYC, and LA. I would think this has to be something to consider, even with Buffalo close by. Perhaps after a study of % of Buffalo fans from Canada/Toronto area. But one team in Toronto, would truly make it "Canada's Team" in the NFL. No more teams in Florida...and Austin TX doesn't seem to make sense with the Cowboys and Texans, and most importantly UT. Just don't see Austin as a NFL city. St. Louis probably deserves a team. Portland...again, not a huge city, big soccer and NBA town. Not sure I see it as NFL. Seattle is 3 hours away with not much inbetween....I made that drive last year going to the IndyCar race in Portland while visiting family in Seattle. Same with OKC...just don't see it as a NFL city and there would be so much competition from OU and OKState. Salt Lake is interesting....on the fence with that location. With NBA and the new NHL team, can they absorb another pro sports franchise right now?? Interesting topic Irish!!

You are probably right....but the equation for rapid success today seems to be how much $$ one is willing to spend. If Purdue lays down top dollar for players, they can improve quickly.

Yes, if I were a coach and a child was on the fence about participating, I would talk to him (and mommy & daddy if needed) about the values of the sport, beyond winning and losing. Hopefully, they would see the potential in what I as a coach would be teaching their child in this activity. Now, done going down your rabbit hole. Have a nice weekend. Get outside...the weather is awesome! -

That the program may be in a cycle with less talent and/or the right coach had not been hired. But it only takes the right hire to perhaps change everything. Center Grove had ONE sectional title in its history before HC Eric Moore. It doesn't mean the football program had little value prior to Coach Moore. Look what has happened in his 2 decades of tenure since. Now a consistent state powerhouse. Sure glad the administrators didn't vote to eliminate the program prior to Moore. No dodge at all. If a person has played the game of football, they understand the inherit value to a young man playing the game, and how those lessons learned apply across life. Additional explanation is not needed. -

Tenure criteria for head coaches remaining in their position, and cancellation of any given athletic program are not the same thing. You know as well as I that in so many cases, wins and losses are cyclic, and in many cases dependent on the talent coming through during that period. I am not going to explain to you the benefits of football beyond W's/L's. If you played the sport, you already know. If you haven't ever played the sport, well I don't have the time nor the inclination to explain it to you. -

Perhaps in your own community in which people are elected by local constituents. But for other communities, its really not much of your business. But if your only criteria for student involvement for sports programs in based on what you deem success (wins and losses) not sure if your voice means much to administrators. -

But who are you to decide what activities children should have at their offering? That is the responsibility of their local communities, and perhaps winning % of their football program is not their top reason in deciding to continuing to fund the activity. Those communities certainly don't need to align to your views. -

I didn’t take that from his comments. CGHS has a plethora of options for student activities. Additionally Coach Mills offers strength and conditioning opportunities for both students and the community. Your comment came across to me as today’s media 101, which is less about accurate understanding and more about pushing a personal agenda. -
It would seem there are future plans for an upgraded Memorial Stadium. https://www.si.com/college/indiana/football/curt-cignetti-indiana-football-memorial-stadium-upgrades-look-different-future-01k18xgcjn3r

Having Marty Mills as the strength and condition coach and this facility has to be a major factor for Center Grove. Champions are made in the off season. -
I'm with you....Ryno was something else to watch....this one does hurt

Perhaps....NIL and TP absolutely allows a program to build rapidly....as long as the administration is willing to spend. IU certainly now seems willing and will eventually renovate Memorial Stadium. My guess like Assembly Hall, they will get a big time donor and put their name on the facility

I am not saying he isn't good or won't be great...but 5 picks in a day of practice would indicate not the greatest day. He does have a great HC that will certainly be at his side. I read it and understand the video timing. My share was about the tweet and the rough day at work. I absolute see him at a hard working dude and think he will be quite the player. All young player struggle on given days. He's got an excellent HC there with him in Minnesota.

if that is the case, then take the voting away from sportswriters and give it only to MLB HOF alumni

Not a meme….a tribute. Didn’t realize the Hoosier product was 4 time all state at Gary Emerson and a runner up for the Heisman at the University of Iowa. Definitely a work horse. Not a bad actor either!!

IU beat Michigan in 2020. 11-62 record all time against UM. Ugh! 😩
-
A QB with a torn ACL and only one 1 season in Power 4. I agree with your comment, but interesting IU had such an advantage with that position against UM.
-
Day should have that record with the talent he has. Give him 2-3 stars and let’s see his record.
