Just a hunch. Kids have to be coming from somewhere, and I didn't mean for it to sound like it was just because of football. The enrollment for Adams Central has continued to grow over the past couple of years at a very high rate. A school that is consistently in 1A for many years starts to make it to the state championship year in and year out, then would've been in 2A regardless of success factor due to enrollment. Kids are being drawn there from somewhere and for some reason. My guess was outskirts of Fort Wayne but could be from anywhere. Can't ignore the growth in enrollment though. There are many Jets fans on here that if they see this have a better explanation than I do, but like I said can't ignore the numbers. I've always said schools are kidding themselves if they think kids are just coming to a school for the academic draw. It's always been about sports more times than not when it comes to transfers. Watch Adams Central. It's not like they are running a lot of plays. Give kids a little bit of credit. Learning "belly", "down", "down option", and "rocket sweep" could happen within a summer.

They've been hunting that football one for a while. Was this the first football sectional championship in school history? If not I know its been close to 30 years since. Hopefully they can continue to build on the program they have. Always like to see the TRC having success. Will force the rest of the conference to step up. Iron sharpens iron!

2A North probably still goes through Adams Central. Gotta think with this new transfer rule they will keep growing in enrollment with a lot of kids on the outskirts of Fort Wayne heading their way.

Hurt Feelings

Hey I've got no problem with Muda. I don't agree with probably 99% of what they guy thinks or says, but he donates to the GID and brings a lot of interesting topics to this place. If there's one thing I've learned in my short time being here, it's just let him have his say and walk away from the keyboard. No need to talk about anyone's wife. We're just here to argue and talk about the game we all love to play, coach, watch, or any combination of those things. -

I doubt Muda's wife knows anything about drones and end zone cameras. -

The rest of you can bash on the guy, but gotta give him props. For him to view that HC job 30k times on his own to generate these numbers is impressive work. Gotta respect a man that works at his craft and puts in the time. Skys the limit for this guy and what he's trying to accomplish. Hats off to him lol.- 171 replies

Schedule Upgrades
First_Backer_Inside replied to Bobref's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Completely agree. I would say there are more options for East Noble to find a great matchup for themselves to prep them for 4A than there is for Snider to prep themselves for 6A. If Snider were to drop East Noble, hopefully East Noble goes out and finds another 5A or 6A that can better them for the rest of their season. From an East Noble standpoint, you are absolutely correct. -

I would agree with dropping the East Noble game, but I would keep the Warsaw game. I understand Indy area might give them better competitive look, but in recent years in the playoffs, Snider has struggled with option teams defensively. This gives them a chance to see it before they get to the playoffs and know how to prepare for it when the season isn't on the line. Just my two cents. They could upgrade that East Noble game tho. -
24-25 DOE Enrollments
First_Backer_Inside replied to HoopsCoach's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I understand. I'm not saying that they did or didn't manipulate them either. Just wanted to provide your evidence and say that based on the numbers it wouldn't be crazy for someone to make an assumption because of them. -
24-25 DOE Enrollments

2017-2018 and 2018-2019 enrollment period. Luers was smack dab in the middle of 3A enrollment. Didn't have a lot of success in those two years. Crazy enough when the next enrollment period came around, they were back to 2A enrollment and playing in 2A. So yes manipulating enrollment numbers for the sake of winning isn't as crazy as it sounds. -
If you want a successful coach, find an up and coming really good special teams coordinator and hire them. They are the best options for head coaches. Too many OC's and DC's getting head coaching jobs. They know how to relate with guys on only one side of the ball most times than not. Special teams guys work with any and all players on the team. They know how to connect with any and all players on the team. Hire a special teams coach to be the head coach and make big time decisions. Bring in OC's and DC's to do exactly what they are good at, calling the offense or defense.

HH is really good. To say their schedule doesn't stack up with Luers' schedule is comical. I'm tired of hearing the Summit league break their arms jerking each other off. You look at the conference and not too many of them had a whole lot of success come playoff time. You could make the case they all played each other, but HH did the same thing in their own sectional. Luers didn't even play arguably the two best teams in the conference in Snider or Carroll that probably would have helped make a case for their schedule being tougher. As far as the summit league goes, they didn't exactly light it up in there nonconference games as a conference. All I'm going to say on the matter. It's hard to bet against a guy with as badass of name as Jett Goldsberry...just sayin!

I don't think Bluffton would have just from seeing them on film, but it was the most wide open sectional in the North in my opinion so who knows they might have been able to. How it ended hurt. Shouldn't have been in that situation to begin with. Too many mistakes and turnovers by the Zebras. Eastern made big plays when they needed to. The Zebras return 9 starters on defense and 8 on offense. The Juniors going to be Seniors seemed very hungry and ready to get to work for the next season. Time will tell! Back to the Adams County teams. Don't want to change this thread to something that it isn't. Very impressed with the football being played throughout the county. Look forward to one day getting to play against AC, Bluffton, or possibly even South Adams due to success factor in a sectional or regional. Best of luck to the two teams tonight. Both teams will have their hands full tonight!

2A Semistate
First_Backer_Inside replied to adambetz's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
From a p/p vs public standpoint, would love to see the Jets get to Lucas Oil and get a rematch against Lutheran if they can pull it out against Linton. How many times have two teams been bumped up a class from success factor(I understand AC was going to be there anyway with enrollment but still) and still find a way to meet each other again in the state championship? That is cool. From a selfish standpoint, if Andrean wins that's one step closer to them being in 3A which is where I personally think they belong. Either way, I think this is going to be a great game won in the trenches on Friday night. Gonna root more for the Jets on Friday night. Go public schools! -
Semi State 3a Luers vs. Garrett
First_Backer_Inside replied to MikeTyson15's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Nothing would make me happier than seeing Garrett win this one. It would be the first time since 2000 that two public schools would play for the state championship in 3A, the winner of that game oddly enough, Heritage Hills. Some might call it a coincidence, I say its destiny that Garrett beats Luers on Friday night...And then takes one on the chin from Heritage Hills in the state championship lol. -
That's odd. Luers is usually middle of the pack 2A enrollment. They get success factored up to 3A and all of a sudden they have 3A enrollment. But it's so hard for these p/p's to keep their doors open. They can't control their school population. It's so hard to recruit kids to their school. Must just be a coincidence.

SIAC 2024
First_Backer_Inside replied to TigerFan20's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
This might have been discussed already here, but was there any thought by Memorial to voluntarily stay up in 4A before the reclassifications and season? Looks like they might have been better off making a deeper run in 4A than 3A this year. -
1A Tournament Discussion

The 1A state champion has to be a private school STATE LAW! Crown Providence state champs right now and move on to basketball and wrestling (and swimming if you're into that sort of thing)
