IFCA Poll Week 4
First_Backer_Inside replied to Titan32's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Just my opinion, Maconaquah is not a top ten 3A team yet. Run the tables in the TRC and maybe they will break through. Strength of schedule isn't there for a top ten rating yet. The second half of their schedule is where they will be tested. -

Wabash River Conference Week 5

My mama said she talked to Donnie's mom Phyllis one time when she was picking up chicken wings for dinner from the place Phyllis gets her sticky singles. Said Donnie has a whole wall of people's saw tay'd karate arteries. Don't play with Donnie! -

Seems to be a recurring theme with NM every year, when they are good or bad. Why do you think that is? Do the kids need to get tougher? Just bad luck for Coach Grant and the Warriors or what? -

Top 25 - Week 3

Its weeks like this last one that make you question how good Warren Central really is. Beat Center Grove and then play a close one with North Central? -
TRC Week 4
First_Backer_Inside replied to First_Backer_Inside's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Big game at Clinton Prairie Friday night Mr. Muda. Any chance we will see you there? I know you are pretty faithful to Frankfort, but should be a good matchup Friday between the Gophers and Zebras. First possibly only matchup ever between the two. History will be made Friday. -
Peru shocked the conference last week with a win over Cass. Interesting matchups this week. How do you see the conference right now? Who ya got this week? Cass at Manchester Maconaquah at Whitko Peru at Northwestern Rochester at Clinton Prairie Southwood at Northfield

TRC Week 3
First_Backer_Inside replied to First_Backer_Inside's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Peru is better than anticipated. Athletes can scoot and the offensive line play is very impressive. I think they rocked Cass early and they just never recovered. Cass is good enough to regroup and have the senior leadership to still be well in conference contention. They are gonna have to probably run the tables though. One loss in conference play this year is not as devastating as years past. Two losses can cause for hitting the panic button. -
At Rochester, you earn your stripes by going to team camp in the summer. It is a stripe that goes down the middle of the helmet. Then during the first two weeks of practice, players slowly earn their English R on the right side of the helmet and their number on the left as they stand out and work hard in practice. The coaches put them on for the players. During the season we give out little white football helmet decals for awards during the week for things such as TD's scored or blocked for, TFL, INT, etc. We even started giving awards out for guys that sprint down the field to celebrate in the end zone with the guy that scored.

Most of the non-conference games are out of the way this year with just a few teams that had to replace Wabash on their schedule playing out of conference still. This should be a fun season with multiple teams that can and will contend for the championship. Who ya got this week? Friday, Sep. 4 Benton Central vs. Manchester, 7 pm, Wabash Northfield at Maconaquah ©, 7 pm Peru at Cass ©, 7 pm Southwood at Northwestern ©, 7 pm Whitko at Rochester ©, 7 pm

I get it, everybody wants to win, everybody get frustrated, they want what's best for their players, but we're grown men. We always tell our guys at the youth level until they start handing out state championships for 3rd and 4th grade then we are going to continue to 1. Make sure each kid gets to play offense and defense every game. 2. Kids are starting to learn the basics of our offensive and defensive system within the rules of the league. 3. Make sure kids are learning proper tackling technique and making the game as safe as it can be for them and their opponents. Sad to see grown men letting their emotions get the better of them.

North Side makes a change

Kind of how it was when we didn't have the transfer rule in place, but flipped. Not saying the transfer rule is a good thing. It is what it is, but the private schools might be getting a taste of what the public schools feel like. Can't speak for all privates, but there are stories of 10-15 years ago, kids go to a public school all the way up till freshman year, then end up at a private school. Could be for the private school education who knows. All I'm saying is since the implementation of the transfer rule, there are fewer dominant privates racking up two or three state championships in a five year period. I also understand that the success factor plays a huge role in this as well and is doing its job also. -
NE Indiana Power Poll - Week 1
First_Backer_Inside replied to 23andCounting's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
It is interesting what happens as kids grow. Middle school not always the indicator for high school success. For example, the seniors here at Rochester only won one game between their 7th and 8th grade seasons. The class behind them, Juniors, only won 3 or 4 both of their years. They played really well together week 1. Interesting to see what they do the rest of the season. -

I said that Adams Central would come back down to Earth when Black at QB graduated. Then came Jamison Roach. I'm not even going to say anything when he graduates after this year because there will be some other kid coming up just as good or one ups him. Impressive stuff going on at Adams Central. -

Sounds like something where immediate action needed to be taken and not having anything to do with x's and o's. Have to wait to see what the media puts out if/when they do. -
Fun start to the season for the TRC. Northfield beats North Miami. Maconaquah with an impressive win, and Cass with an impressive showing even though they couldn't quite beat the defending 1A North Champs. Who ya got for Week 2 Friday, Aug. 28 Cass at Northfield ©, 7 pm Maconaquah at Carroll, 7 pm Madison-Grant at Southwood, 7 pm Northwestern at Eastern, 7 pm Peru at Whitko ©, 7 pm Rochester at Tippecanoe Valley, 7 pm Tipton at Manchester, 7 pm

Didn't they have like 3 SEC type dlineman on a team that didn't make it past the regional? And haven't made it past the regional since 2018 other than last year? Just a hunch that is why. -
Scores and Updates 🏈 Week 1 - 2026
First_Backer_Inside replied to gonzoron's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Not trying to knock EN in any way, but if 8 D1 players is true, your three away from having a college team. You shouldn't lose let alone get shutout. I'm sure some coaches would love to have 1 D1 athlete on their team. 8?! It def is easy to blame coaching.
