  1. I thought it was odd the way the Danville coach ran across the field to shake hands. Never seen that before.
  2. I believe you are correct. I also learned today that Holland and Huntingburg had the same school song, which is now Southridge's. I was a little surprised at that.
  3. The Tiger Football Trivia question from the Coach's Show podcast this week was "Although the Tigers have never played Southridge in football, they did play one of the two schools that consolidated in 1972 to become Southridge. What was the school, the score, the date and that schools' team mascot name?" Answer: The Tigers defeated the Huntingburg Happy Hunters by the score of 47-6 on Sept. 10, 1966. That is one of the best HS mascot names ever...
  4. Exactly right I would be very disappointed if our coach ever gave a quote like that
  5. Coach Hurley said during the podcast last night that Coach Buening started as an assistant at Evansville Harrison. I was not aware of that. Where was Coach before getting the Southridge job?
  6. LOL. Titan32 was the one who first projected a Memorial v. Memorial match-up, so blame him!! As big as a game next week would be for the fans, I know all the focus is this Friday for the players. Southridge is a tough opponent for anyone, but especially us because we don't see that style of offense. It's possible some our players played Southridge at much younger levels (middle school). I know we played in 2014, but after that I have no real idea.
  7. Interesting. I would put Fisher on equal standing with Lindauer at QB, but we don't have anyone as dominant as Branson Combs was on either side of the ball. This is the best group of WRs we ever had though.
  8. I don't recall seeing any VL posters on the GID all year. Haven't seen any SR folks lately either. That video was ... What do the kids these days say... cringy?
  9. Calpreps Lincoln (Vincennes, IN) vs. Heritage Hills (Lincoln City, IN) at TBA, 7:00pm [projection and percent chances to win: Heritage Hills (Lincoln City, IN) 38 (98%) Lincoln (Vincennes, IN) 6 (2%)] Reitz Memorial (Evansville, IN) vs. Southridge (Huntingburg, IN) at TBA, 7:00pm [projection and percent chances to win: Reitz Memorial (Evansville, IN) 41 (96%) Southridge (Huntingburg, IN) 14 (4%)] The question is whether these predictions are more accurate than the incorrectly listed start times?
  10. **edit** 49 games...
  11. New Albany at North (-25). North's best W is Vincennes Lincoln, which as a 5A school in the SIAC is just not saying much. New Albany's 3 wins came against opponents with a combined 2-28 record, so they seem to be right on par with the Bosse and Central types of the world. That is right up North's alley. North 35-0. Castle (-7) at Floyd Central. Floyd Central looks the be a pretty solid team. So is Castle. They finished the SIAC losing only to the cheatin' Catholics. Knights 24-14. Bosse (+21) at Boonville. Remember in 2018 when 2-win Bosse nearly beat an undefeated Boonville team in the opening round of the Sectional? I do. Sadly, it scared Boonville out of joining the SIAC. Well, this isn't 2018. Bosse has zero wins and just isn't very good. Boonville 31-8. Reitz at Jasper (-1). Just imagine the pressure on Reitz. Undefeated regular seasons the last 2 years and no Sectional titles to show for it. The Mighty Ps seem to be getting healthy again after some injuries, but facing a disciplined Jasper team on the road that has played pretty well over the last month. Tight tournament games have not been Reitz's forte in recent years. Jasper 24-23. Southridge at Memorial (-11). This game is really interesting because neither team can replicate what the other does. Tigers had a very workmanlike W against MD. Southridge giving up 35 points to MV caught my attention, but seeing they held some kids out and just kept scoring on MV to win with ease. The Raiders will need to be at full strength in the secondary because Memorial has a lot of weapons and Fisher can create time to find them. Memorial will have to read the keys and stop the run. At some point I expect to see the Tigers start rotating some guys in both ways on D. Should be a big All Saints Day crowd in what will only be the Tigers 4th game at Enlow Field this season. Close for quite a while, but Tigers win 35-21. Lincoln (+32) at Heritage Hills. The Patriots pretty-well manhandled a good GS team. I would have liked to have seen GS and MD play. Maybe next year. The Patriots are just too strong for the Alices and will coast 42-0.
  12. I don't think its so much winning or losing as it is connecting with the rest of the state. Only 1 of 97 games played by the SIAC teams so far involved an "outside" opponent.
  13. Yep, that was always an unfortunate PAC scheduling quirk that prevented a lot of potentially good cross-conference games between the PAC and SIAC. BTW, not too shabby on the radio the other night. I listened to most of the first half. Did you ever think about strangling the co-host? Just kidding. LOL
  14. We never seemed to be able get non-conference games against PAC teams.
  15. Maybe Danville should have been more disciplined and not put the refs in the position of having to make a decision in the first place?
  16. It will be interesting to see if the SIAC Sagarin numbers change much after this week as we are finally getting some games outside the conference.

  18. My bad, I thought we were on the road next week. No Round 1 surprises. First ever meeting between Southridge and Memorial at Enlow next week.
  19. F'ing Hurley being compassionate....
  20. Somebody better have a lotta dimes.
  21. I personally think SR -24 is the safest of the 3 bets.
  22. A little birdy told me this is what our friends in the desert have: Heritage Hills -14 @ Gibson Southern Memorial -14 @ Mater Dei Mt. Vernon (Posey) +24 @ Southridge If I was a gambling man, I would take GS +14, Memorial -14 and SR -24.
  23. Yea, I don't think a team can refuse to have its game streamed in the tournament, since all tournament games are property of the IHSAA. I'm pretty sure all tournament games that are streamed have to run through ihsaatv.org.
