No, the CRP was put in place during the Daniels administration to attempt to take the final decisions out of the IHSAA's exclusive hands. The IHSAA now precludes a student from having an attorney present during their internal appeal, but an attorney can advocate at the CRP level. If the CRP upholds the IHSAA decision, the next step is filing a lawsuit. Michael has kicked the IHSAA's @$$ more often than not. Extremely good lawyer and man.
Having been involved in a successful appeal from a negative Case Review Panel decision for a student in Evansville, all I can say is this process is heavily tilted toward affirming whatever the IHSAA decides, and a family that cannot retain a lawyer to file in Court has almost zero chance of success. Like him or not, Gregg Doyle is making heroic effort to eviscerate the dark underbelly of the IHSAA when it comes to seemingly idiotic decisions denying eligibility.
BINGO. He was lead counsel in the case I was involved in. He runs circles around the IHSAA's attorney.
Calpreps has obviously never been to a Mater Dei v. Memorial game. This game is almost always within 14-17 points. The rest look pretty close to me and I would take the favorites.
Bosse's QB is a stud. On routes, their WR seemed to give up on plays, which is bad with a mobile QB. A little surprised VL didn't win bigger against MD. What's the story? Central won't win a game.
No question NP looks to be a contender. It will be interesting to see how much MD can improve throughout the course of the year and if taking some lumps in the SIAC will help them in Sectional 40.
Its a long season. Great coaches and tough players willing to work can make a lot of improvements before tournament time. It would not shock me in the least to see MD win Sectional regardless of the regular season record.
LOL. I meant statue. But ironically the Goebel statute is an amendment to the HS football rules in SW Indiana that allows him (and ONLY him) to be between the numbers and hash for purposes of berating the white hat without penalty.
I thought they were bowing to the pressure from North Posey and building a fieldhouse. Maybe the statute of Goebel will go on top, like William Penn on top of Philadelphia's city hall.
Boy, MD sure hits a tough 4 game stretch - VL, Memorial, Jasper & North. All but Memorial are at the Bowl, so that will help some. It will be interesting how they bounce back from the blowout L to Castle.
Those kinds of players are rare. Branson was easily the best two-way player in the SIAC in decades. Brodie won state in the 100. Nobody has those kinds of players in SW Indiana this year. I am curious though, what SIAC teams have "game breakers" in your opinion? Who had them last year? MD won state, who was their "game breaker"?
I agree with Screagle. Whoever wins 24 is going to have their hands full against EC.
I don't see any of these games being all that close. I'd take all the favs to cover except Memorial, and only bc Hurley will rest the starters after the first half.
