  1. Reitz blows out Castle 42-7 in the SIAC GOTW MD upsets North 24-21 Memorial edges Bosse in a squeaker 27-16 Jasper pounds the winless Bears 42-0 Lincoln keeps it rolling 35-7 over the winless Warriors Tango will be OOT next weekend so looking ahead to Week 7... We have a nice 5 game slate where 1 team will get its first L (Memorial), one team will get its first W (Harrison), MD will face the most explosive player they've seen so far in Bosse's QB Wagner, and 2 games - Castle @ Jasper & Lincoln @ North - that should be dandies.
  2. Aren't they all? Who wins unlimited vote "awards" is usually just a function of who has the most time to keep hitting "Return to Poll"...
  3. Oh come on, you don't really have that attitude! The sun sets through the "IB" sign at Jewell.
  4. I really have a hard time believing that because GS has gotten more mileage for playing 3 or 4 competitive quarters in 30 point losses in KY than I've ever seen. LOL. GS wins by 3 scores.
  5. There's a school or two who want divisions. The problem is the EVSC bottom dwellers at least get good gate receipts when they play the schools like MD, Memorial, Jasper and Castle. They would never be able to find opponents who could bring the fans those 4 schools do, year in and year out.
  6. Well, the last season they beat all 3 they didn't win state, so who knows. It would be fun to see GS and BC square off again.
  7. How is that different from two divisions?
  8. Forgot Castle... that's why enrollment based doesn't work real well..
  9. It would be so easy: EVSCs: Harrison, Bosse, Reitz, Central & North Nots: Mater Dei, VL, Memorial, Castle & Jasper
  10. Duh, I came up with Dale and Gentryville. Was there another?
  11. @HHPatriots Is HH a consolidated school? If so, what were the original schools that consolidated?
  12. We hit big passings plays in the SIAC last year too. Different animal facing a DL like what EC has... and when one gets dinged, he's replaced with the same sized guy. Their depth is incredible.
  13. I would bet the vast majority of our fans don't even understand the whole SF thing. My desire to go back to 3A is really more a function of wanting to see different teams in the Sectional instead of the same teams we play in August and September. The closed SIAC gets redundant. Plus, it's fun to play teams like Chatard every once in a while.
  14. Memorial had a much better OL/DL last year and could not do much of anything on O or stop EC on D. EC was up 28-0 at the half. We blocked a FG and returned it for a TD in the 4th Q to give Enlow some life, then had 2 more late scores to make it a respectable 35-21, but we were never really in the game. I suspect with the injuries we've had, it is likely we come up short in the sectional and find ourselves back in 3A next year, which is fine with me. From what I've seen, Reitz would have to play almost flawlessly to have any chance, unless EC just laid an egg. You ordinarily don't see defending state champs lay an egg. Reitz hasn't played an opponent like EC in a long time. And, I suspect Reitz won't be seriously challenged until Regional, so the challenge for them will be taking on a team like EC (who will punch you in the face) and playing #discplined ball for 4 Qs. It would be worth a drive to see that game though - at the Bowl, not through KY and OH to St. Leon...
  15. Anybody can have a bad game and lose. Heck, look no further than undefeated Reitz getting upset by Boonville last year. I think Memorial will have a tough time against Reitz, in conference and tournament. Losing starting QB and RB is tough to overcome. Maybe Jasper can challenge then in Sectional? EC is another animal though. Huge roster, lots of size and speed, likely Mr Football, defending state winner.
  16. I think he'll get a chance to compete for the starting spot next year if Fisher decides not to play football, but he'll be a back-up this year.
  17. I'll take MD to upset North this week.
  18. It was the regional championship. HH was 8-3 and we were 10-2. It was the first meeting in 5 years between the two schools. It poured from the time I left Evansville until I got home. Final score was 6-3 Memorial and it was a sloppy mess of a game. Neither team could do much of anything.
  19. I think Memorial may use more than 1 QB and also more wildcat formations than in previous week. Should be interesting.
  20. That is an incredible record. How many of those 74 losses were regular season? I know we sure had some epic battles with HH during his time there. I always enjoyed making that drive and seeing a game in the Jungle, expect in 2008 when it was played in a monsoon...
  21. I would agree. I count only 11 regular season losses from '94-'11. What is the number for his entire career? HH was definitely the PAC top dog for 20+ years.
  22. Looked to me #6 got injured. Assuming he is out or just limited, #5 will get more touches on O. I still expect him to play D too.
