  1. Before the memorial fans jump all over you….in 2018? They absolutely beat the brakes off of Chatard in the 3A semi state. (IIRC) Might have been the worst loss Chatard has ever had. It was a full running clock on Chatard which is pretty much unheard of
  2. Was the only difference in proposals the amount of time and points? Or was there more to the 4 year cycle.
  3. In kind of the the same twist of fate….the same thing happened to Gibson Southern. they are no longer in sectional 32 with Heritage Hills Southridge….and where Memorial would be if they were in 3A. They are now in Sectional 30. Still have 8-2 Mt. Vernon and 10-1 Owen Valley in there…but it’s not the same as facing Heritage Hills in sectionals….or Memorial when they were in 3A. Just like WL knows it’s not the same facing other teams when they have been battling Brebeuf and Chatard in their sectional
  4. Arguably the most competitive and difficult class in Indiana outside of 6A. Pound for pound some of the best programs in the state with plenty of talent to go with it. 3A has also produced some of the closest most thrilling games to watch in November with so many close games between top ranked opponents. Preseason top 10 from the digest with their records and Sagarin rankings from last year 1) Bishop Chatard (7-5) 83.50 -Obviously were in 4A last year. But we all know the drill. Chatard is king of 3A and it’s up to everyone else to prove they are not. 2) West Lafayette (9-1) 79.99 -Perennial Top 3 team for 3A. Always competitive….just not always the best luck when it comes to the tournament draw or who is in their sectional 3) Tri-West (11-3) 71.42 -Always find themselves in the top 10 but it ultimately is going to come down to the sectional. Sectional 29 no longer has Chatard but it does have Webo and Danville who are both ranked. 4) Lawrenceburg (11-2) 77.36 -Another stable fixture of the Top 10 for 3A. I personally have some questions after they graduated a lot of studs, including All-American/Notre Dame commit Ashton Craig. Others more in the know seem to think it doesn’t matter and the tigers are reloading. 5) Mish. Marian (11-4) 75.41 - I’m not familiar with Mish Marian at all. I don’t even know their mascot. What I do know is that they consistently get ranked in the top 5 at some point every year but they stall out in the playoffs. 6) Gibson Southern (14-1) 94.32 -Reigning 3A champions and perennial top 5 team. Have a number of key players returning…but ultimately Brady Allen is now at Purdue and now it’s time for the next group to step up and take this team as far as it can go. 7) Oak Hill (8-3) 46.46 -Arguably the biggest wild card in this ranking. Are they a new school? Looking at their stats from last year….They MAYBE graduated 3 starters. Team was almost exclusively all sophomores and juniors playing. Their RB ran for 1991 yards and 34TDs in 11 games…he is back. Definitely a team to keep an eye on if the stats are true because they will have plenty of returning starters the next 2 seasons 😎 Western Boone (7-5) 65.30 -Pound for pound one of the toughest programs in the state. Need to beat Danville and/or Tri-West to just win their sectional…but it’s a task they are surely up for. 9) Danville (10-2) 71.44 -Always so close always so far. Danville is always a great team. They just have ran into the likes of Tri-West and Chatard the last 3 years. When it’s a battle of top 10 teams in November….you have to be at your very best and mistake free otherwise your season is over. 10) Delta (5-6) 50.44 -Moving down from 4A to 3A, they are in a unique position. It appears like 9 or 10 of the offense and 7/8 of the defensive starters are returning. Young core…but they were 5-6….but also they are likely at the top of 3A in terms of enrollment and having high 3A enrollment + a young core usually results in Ws and a postseason run. Honorable Mention These are just some teams that I personally think are worth mentioning and very well may find themselves inside the top 5 at some point this season Hanover Central (11-2) 61.52 Tipp. Valley (10-1) 62.36 Heritage Hills (9-3) 64.47 Brownstown Central (11-1) 63.45 Mt. Vernon (Posey) (8-2) 65.62 Southridge (5-5) 57.40
  5. Chatard hasn’t been able to do it at 4A yet though. They keep coming back to 3A lol. you would think chatard would be locked into 4A…but in the 10 years of the success factor memorial and Brebeuf in the absence of them have managed to be Uber successful and now have pretty much permanently marked their spot in 4A….and chatard is back in 3A lol not that I’m complaining. Gibson Southern fans still very much want to prove something to chatard and want that fight in November
  6. I think heritage hills would have had their opportunities over the last decade and a few Southridge teams. The real problem is the Lindauer/Combs era of memorial because the only team I’m putting over that 3 year span of memorial is last years GS team But there were some really good teams over the last 10 years. The 2014 Heritage Hills team was special…the 2017 Southridge team won the 2A. Kinda feel like Heritage Hills would have had a few teams worth mentioning if it weren’t for Coach Hart arriving at GS. Jasper in the big 8 at times was better than all of the SIAC/PAC schools Tbh…I have the opinion that memorial and Mater Dei are carrying the torch now for the SIAC. Central had a few good squads but I think memorial still beat them…outside of that I think you would have to go back to like 2010 ish for when Reitz was a top 5 team in the state as a 4A school when it was just 1A-5A (6A came in 2013)
  7. Not jumping in this argument but taking a tangent off of it. i fail to see how a school would be exploited….and currently feel that students being forced to stay at a school by the ihsaa is schools exploiting the students. The only ones being treated unfairly for benefit/benefitting from restricting the free will of a student is the student. in no way is a school being exploited if a student of theirs chooses to attend another school on their own free will for any reasons they deem worthy. that’s my 2¢ Lol
  8. But it really doesn’t matter Nobody cares if Rutgers/Maryland beats the bottom of the SEC. All that matters is the top. if I was a Memorial or Mater Dei fan I surely would not accept comparing the the two conferences by what the worst teams do and completely ignore their accomplishments
  9. That’s a really dumb way to look at it lol sorry not sorry “lemme judge and compare 2 conferences by comparing the worst teams who will combine for 15 wins between the 6 of them…..and completely disregard the top of each conference despite the fact that the PAC and SIAC have combined for 6 title appearances and 4 state titles in the last 5 years” COME ON MAN
  10. My argument is consistent on this the top teams in each conference each year are not that far off and depending on the year, it could be that a PAC team is the best team or it could be a SIAC team The argument used to be that the SIAC was better than both the PAC and BIG 8….and the BIG 8 always claimed they were better than the PAC too post merger and the only big 8 school making a major impact is Jasper….and they are a combined 16-2 in conference play after 2 years and swept the SIAC last year. The gap isn’t that big between the two
  11. From a fans perspective the SIAC and PAC are rival conferences….And Vincennes chose to go to the SIAC…and now after 2 years of them struggling across the board they are like “this is too hard. We want to go to the PAC” So you have the PAC members who very much believe we are on par or better than the SIAC depending on the sport….and you have a school basically saying “the PAC is easier” but asking to join….why would they let them join? They made their bed and they can sleep in it lol
  12. End of 2023 according to the interview you did last month with their head coach. They were already a member for all other sports. But after this year they will officially be back for football
  13. He also has a fighting chance now with the new PAC expanding the conference and splitting it into 2 divisions has been the best decision ever made by the PAC imo. for Context…only the Circle City Conference had more team state titles this year with 6.
  14. You would think that in this day and age…getting people to even be 60/40 in favor of something and not arguing against each other like madmen is nearly impossible….and you mean to tell me we have 90%+ in agreement and they were like “nah”
  15. Especially this time of year when things are ramping up to the start of the season. I can imagine many coaches just don’t want to put the time towards any more interviews.
  16. Last one? Have you really gone through and interviewed pretty much every other coach?
  17. Is it brownsburg camp or Coach John Harts camp? Haha but these things always give me a smile. Huntley -Illinois 7A Kankakee- Illinois 5A North- Indiana 5A Brownsburg- Indiana 6A and then little ole Gibson Southern as a 3A school. It just never gets old. Every offseason under hart the team is training against schools 2x/3x/4x it’s size….and the community wants this challenge with no shortcuts
  18. Back on this topic? im still in favor of having the coaches of a regional seed themselves half way and then random draw the rest Top 8 teams are voted on and put in a bracket spot ranked 1-8….random draw remaining 8 teams. best of both worlds and nobody gets their feelings hurt….AND (now this is the most important part haha) it will increase IHSAA revenue lol
  19. Tiktok/reels definitely paint things as easier or that there are shortcuts to the success and we all know what happens when you try to take shortcuts to success
  20. Unless that kid is like 6’3 already and put down a great 40 + other measurables I just don’t know if I can believe anything the TikTok says
  21. As someone who has moved out of the area…I just love what they do and think they do the best job of making it fun to follow. they spread the attention around too. (tongue in cheek) they are the reason Randal Parmley left the news business 😂. He got out because he knew the area was in good hands
  22. Very true. For the most part and definitely excluding last year, I feel like GS had the opposite problem. Good pass defense with plenty of experience but struggled in the run defense category. im sure you guys didn’t like trying to put together a scout offense and replicating Brady haha
  23. I know I know. It’s sinful for the ball to be in the air for y’all.
  24. I love the 812 guy. he does reporting for the 812 games better than the news stations and it’s always in a fun good hearted manner.
