Gibson Southern 27 Vincennes Lincoln 13 Final Game was closer than the score shows. Was 13-12 VL late in the game. GS defense really had to work to win this game due to miscues on the offense.

I think GS made some minor mistakes at times but it was 28-7 I believe then a silly turnover and basically a Hail Mary and all of a sudden it’s 31-28…catch the kick…kneel it out. two or three plays is the difference between 38-14 and 31-28….but hey….others might see it as 2 or 3 plays go differently and HH might have won it too. So it’s a matter of opinion

I think the score shows a much closer game than what it was

Let’s just take a deep breathe here lol GS has a lot to prove still. Any given Friday haha. I absolutely want to see it cuz I know what the soonest game for that would be…but I don’t think Gs can throw its name in the hat for that discussion just yet. Losing to 4A/5A champions from KY is still a loss

I gotta asK cuz I’m not close to Chatard/Indy is this one of those special Chatard teams? Brebeuf Roncalli and cathedral…why did we let them come back down to 3A? Lol

I know they are consistently top 5 in the state for rankings and I believe have won multiple championships already. South Warren was an underdog in 2021 when they beat FD for the KY 5A state championship.

Anything can happen…but I imagine this game is for the conference pretty much

Came up short 45-28. had it to 35-28 in 3rd but the little things were too much…namely 3 special teams TDs for the first 3 scores for SW. it’s weird lol….like there are moments where you are like this team is really good…the defense can be amazing….and then they miss on a sack or a tackle on sideline and something goes from 3rd and 20 to 1st and goal….or the ball pops loose/can’t convert a 4th and short inside redzone. Maybe it’s just the level of talent they are facing and the rest of the schedule will work out better…certainly lots of things the coaches can point to and say they need to be better

Ky 5A #5 South Warren 45 Gibson Southern 28 Final just too many little mistakes. 3 special teams TDs and turnovers difficult to overcome…this team shows so much promise but then let’s little things get away from them at times. Maybe it’s because Boyle Co. is ranked 4th in Ky and South Warren is a top 15 team in the state too…but both games GS has shown it can compete and win against these tough opponents….but only for a few quarters….not a complete game. and the mistakes vs these teams are magnified instantly because they are disciplined. it’s a weird situation where you can see all the potential…but there is plenty to work on still. need to find ways to be consistent I think. Lots of football left though.

Don’t see it covered here Gibson Southern @ KY 5A #5 South Warren (15th overall for KY) game started weird…GS gets an int, goes to kick FG…blocked…returned for TD. 7-0 SW Sw was then able to find 2 more special teams plays including a KR TD and led 21-7 Traded drives…GS turns it over…td follows and it’s 28-7 South Warren…But gibson southern isn’t going down easy and has clawed its way back into this behind Boyd and Delong mid to late 3rd Qtr South Warren 35 Gibson Southern 28 this is a weird game of momentum no doubt but GS has shown a lot of resilience and isnt giving up despite the 3 special teams TDs and turnovers. job isnt done though and still trailing.
