  1. I know we’re straying off subject but Butler’s 2020 class is already top 20 in the country and could end up top 10.
  2. Unless things have changed, BDGiant93 and his WBDG crew are in the visitors press box across from the home stands. However, being a Ben Davis teacher I would think he is privy to factual information that those such as I do not know.
  3. As rankings go, it's the biggest game ever. But, it's still just a backyard rivalry/brawl. I think it's a tossup and I cannot pick a winner. I will say I think whomever loses, will get revenge in the sectional.
  4. I learned long ago that rivalry games are just a different animal. I don’t think it will do much of anything.
  5. Paragraph makes zero sense to me. As for my age? Carmel grad of ‘71. I was rooting for the Irish when they ended Bloomington’s long winning streak. But they lost the championship game. I believe they lost in ‘76 too. And 2015? Well, you see the pattern. But all that is irrelevant to this year. Cathedral vs New Pal. Sorry SAC, this is your championship game.
  6. The comparison to 6A teams can never be proven. Cathedral could play up in 6A, but they have never asked. Bringing up a pre-season scrimmage? Laughable. Did you have a tailgate party at the scrimmage? Yes, New Pal will remain #1. Does it matter? This will be decided on the field. And I want to see it!
  7. Pretty much agree with this. But if you say CAN beat the Irish, then Avon, Brownsburg, Warren, Carmel, Center Grove are all capable. But are any of them better? No, based on the Irish’s performance so far this year!
  8. All I saw in the home stands was a very quick mass exodus by just about every student, including the band. Seemed to be a commotion at the south end.
  9. Your statement is just as bold! I do think New Pal/Cathedral winner is your state champ. I’m not sure there are even 2 teams in 6A that could beat either of them.
  10. Yes, a loss is a loss, unless your name is Jeff Sagarin!
  11. No intention of a weekly poll, but I think I’ll do one after week five then a final one at week nine.
  12. It should be noted that Warren, Carmel and Brownsburg all lost to out-of-state teams.
  13. New Pal vs a MIC schedule is irrelevant. They have proven that playing 1 game against a perennial power is not a problem. Cathedral’s schedule is by necessity because of being independent. It plays in their favor come tournament time barring excessive injuries as they will be battle tested. A Valpo/Dwenger showdown seems imminent. I’m not ready to pick a winner yet. 5A is going to be fun!
  14. I would say knocking Carmel out in the sectional and having either Avon or Brownsburg advance to Lucas Oil. This would certainly be a knockout!
  15. I don’t vote this year (1st time in a long time) but I’m not convinced Avon is the #1 team in 6A. They have been hard to judge in 2 games because their opponents have played sub-par football. Perhaps Avon’s defense had something to do with that? If they are still spotless after week #4 then I will be onboard.
  16. So you must think Warsaw is top 15, considering they beat MC @ MC?
  17. My criteria is my opinion, just as I stated at the very top of the thread. But, generally speaking, yes, most of the best teams are from larger enrollments. New Pal is one pleasant exception. This reminds me back about 25 or so years ago, when people were wanting a Dullaghan/Ben Davis vs. Wright/Sheridan winner take all game. After all, they both were cleaning up on their classes!
