Did you choose to not read my comment that Carroll is undervalued? Besides, thanks to Homestead’s near disaster @Noblesville the league needs to rethink it’s inclusive scheduling. Crap, I’m going all DT again.

Yeah, I'm hoping someone fixes that!

It's this time of year that Sagarin starts to gain accuracy. Notice the top ten teams. 5 HCC and 5 MIC. (Bold teams are still alive in the tournament) After last Friday I don't think anyone can argue the strength of these 2 conferences this year. Sagarin is the only poll that continues all the way through to the championships. So, each week if you beat a team rated better, you move up. Even if you are done with the season, you can move down if your SOS goes down. Stock up/down games this Friday: Crown Point with an upset of Merrillville could move up 5-7 spots. Carroll has the best opportunity with a win over Homestead. Carroll is undervalued and Homestead is apparently trying to find a running back? Zionsville would most certainly jump into the top ten with an upset. Southport has a herculean task ahead in Ben Davis. A win would duplicate Crown Point's opportunity. If the favorites all win Saturday, expect the gap between #2 and #3 to close. But their places will remain the same. I expect Avon to eventually drop down a couple of spots as teams they play are knocked out. By Thanksgiving weekend Sagarin will be looking pretty accurate. Teams that finish well should start out well week #1 next fall. Most Intriguing Sectional Final
Staxawax replied to HoopsCoach's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Kingsmen are not so mighty this year. -
I know Sagarin isn't the gospel, but Avon/Brownsburg and L. Jeff/Merrillville were tossup games. These are not OSU/Michigan. They are not 'Bama/LSU.
-
We must have different definitions of “upset”.
-
Other than maybe Westfield dominating Fishers, I don't see any upsets or even surprises in 6A.
-
I’m sure the seniors were very emotional in beating THE rival and the #1 team. But, I think they have the same goal...... winning a state championship. Every game from here on out will be tough. Hart will prepare them well.
-
You realize you just called Westfield over Carmel? Are you sticking with that?

The Hendricks Co. Brawl, Part II
Staxawax replied to Staxawax's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
The things I’ve noticed this entire season, penalties, mental mistakes, not putting teams away....... all came back to haunt #1 tonight. It was pretty clear watching this game that Avon SHOULD have won, but numerous penalties, including unsportsmanlike and late hits, kept the game anybody’s to win. Kudos to Bburg for defensive adjustments and getting 2nd half turnovers. Avon has quite a few keys returning next year so should be something to look forward. But I know this one hurts. Bulldogs will have their hands full next week vs Zionsville. Should be a great game! -
Noblesville was out scored 99-27 in their last 3 games. They had not scored 21 points in a game all season! There are absolutely NO excuses!

Lafayette Jeff Bronchos.... The 6A wildcard
Staxawax replied to Staxawax's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
“Unstoppable” L Jefferson earned every one of their 20 points, which is 16 less than their previous low scoring game. Strength of schedule does matter! They would have been better prepared if they were still in the HCC (don’t tell DT I said that!). -
See Bonecrusher's post.

Haven't been following this thread. Is Moore out for the season? Redshirt?

Avon paid a visit to the Reitz Bowl in 2005 and beat a very good Hart coached team 42-35 in the 5A regional. Best stadium in the Hoosier state! -

10-0 Boone Grove @ 7-3 Andrean
Staxawax replied to WolvesOnTheProwl's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I'm is agreement with the spirit of your post, but losing by scores of 48-20, 33-10 and 33-10 isn't exactly playing tough. Common opponent....... Hanover Central........... Andrean wins 44-23, BG wins 42-13.
