  1. Kudos to the coaches for rewarding the 3 remaining undefeated teams in 6A. Are they the 3 best? Who knows. What we do know is this....... all 3 could be knocked off in their own sectional! 6A is like the NFL minus the Patriots this year. Parity.
  2. 2 completely different running backs. Coleman had elite speed. Most memorable game was in Columbus when he ran through and away from the OSU defense twice for 2 TD runs of more than 70 yards. Scott is bigger and stronger, has very good speed but harder to bring down. I think he also has a future in the NFL.
  3. So you're counting WeBo out? They are near Indy, defending 2A champs, and have lost once.
  4. Hate quoting my own post....... Checked the roster and there are 4 other QB's listed, including Jack Tuttle, the red-shirt freshman that transferred from Utah. I had heard he was going to leave but I cannot confirm that. The other 3 I don't think have taken any practice snaps to speak of. Reese did play some offense last year so he has some experience handling the ball. But hope it doesn't come down to this. If Penix can get and stay healthy, he will surpass all other Hoosiers as the all-time leading passer.
  5. No problem. I think I heard the other QB that came in to challenge for the starting position had left the program. I haven't seen the roster, but I think Taylor might be the guy. The way Ramsey runs an injury isn't out of the question. And, I'm pretty sure Nebraska is a little more physical than either Rutgers or Maryland.
  6. Brissett's best game by far. Running game was few and far between. But, coming out of the box throwing and doing it successfully was a big key. The O-line gave Briz all kinds of time and he picked the Texan's secondary apart. Their continued self-destruction with penalties didn't hurt either!
  7. Stay with me now. If Penix can't play, then Ramsey is the STARTER.
  8. My how this thread has died. Georgia's loss to South Carolina removed ANY chance of ND cracking the top 4. And a close win at home vs. an ordinary PAC-10 rival didn't help. Michigan will probably knock them clear off the New Year's Day Bowl schedule.
  9. Ramsey is a very good passer. Penix is an elite passer. He shouldn't be running at all. Just after the commentators said Tom Allen wants his QB's running more, Penix ran and was tackled hard......... result? Out for the rest of the game. He should remain a pocket passer and if forced to run slide baby slide. But, having said this IU's weak spot was and is it's defense. They will stand up a RB for a loss one play, then give up 40 yards the next. If Penix can't play against Nebraska, who is the backup? Reese Taylor?
  10. Their last 5 games were against smaller schools that are waiting for basketball. Only Tech has a winning record (5-4). The days of Jeff putting up big numbers may be over this year. We will see if their defense can keep them in games!
  11. I'm not ready to count LN out of this just yet. There may be a big surprise here!
  12. So language would fall under “unsportsmanlike conduct”?
  13. So 2 weeks on this thread. Over/under 5 pages. BTW, Pickerington Central is ranked #17 in Ohio, #187 nationally. Keep this game low scoring (in the teens) if you want to win. If CG score 20+ it will be hard to overcome.
  14. This is exactly what I have heard from a reliable source. But they are optimistic about the soccer program.
  15. Only the coffers of the self proclaimed commissioner should be used for this.
  16. Any neutral sight game is going to be a road game for both teams. You've already sighted the lack of road attendance for MIC schools in a highly competitive conference. Driving 90 minutes to see Kokomo and TH North, regardless of day and time, would be a net loss of revenue. It MUST always be home/away scheduling. The home team needs the revenue as football is the only revenue producing sport/activity at the football stadium......... and that is only 4-5 times a year (plus any tournament games).
  17. This is my mystery team. Certainly I don't disagree with their ranking. After all it is for recognition purposes only. And they are deserving of this recognition. But they basically had a 3-game season. West Lafayette, Harrison and Lawrence Central. They passed those tests. Barely! And all 3 scored a lot of points. You can convince me that they can score points, but it will be hard to convince me they can stop the top teams in 6A defensively. But they don't play conference foe Marion, 20-2 in their last 22 games, which could have been a good test. New Pal has proven themselves, Jeff is going to have to do it right away against Merrillville in the sectional 1 opener. Win that game and a lot of doubts will be erased, and a semistate matchup with either an Allen Co. school or a Hamilton Co. school could be waiting. Someone educate me on what they do well. Defense? No!
  18. For Avon to be a top contender next year, they will need to improve defensively and develop a good running back or two. O line is always good and Hesson is a very good pocket passer. But if they cannot run the ball........
  19. Speaking of Reese, I know he's injured. Will he be redshirted this year?
  20. I'm not backing off what I said last week. Avon is not showing much improvement. I know #1 means you're a target, but Brownsburg is blasting teams that Avon is struggling with. I'm afraid since this showdown will be @ Brownsburg in sectionals that Avon is a one and done. Prove me wrong Orioles!
  21. Careful T, next thing you know he’ll accuse you of being from Avon. All of Avon disrespects Cathedral! 😂😂😂
  22. Nobody is running BD out now. Vast improvement I’m not seeing improvement out of Avon.
  23. Avon is looking like anything BUT a top 5 team. An average Westfield team could have won last night. They moved the ball well, and were aided by numerous penalties (at least half a dozen personal fouls). Avon is dying on the vine. Look for Brownsburg to come out of that sectional. Having said this, I think any one of 7-8 teams could go on a run to LOS. Brownsburg, Avon, Warren, Homestead, Snider, Center Grove, North Central, Ben Davis, Lafayette Jeff........
  24. You need to read this thread my friend! I called it. You said you “wouldn’t be surprised”. That’s hardly calling anything!
