  1. Fishers 26. North Central. 0. Halftime Yes, it’s not a typo!
  2. No info on his condition. I know that Coach Bless has quite a few holes to fill, so I'm sure this scrimmage was a chance for the "rookies" to get some experience.
  3. audiosportsonline.net (asoaudio.net) has a number of high schools that are covered every week. Some audio, some video.
  4. And should have beaten them in 2015......... a double OT loss at CG. Winner of that game won state.
  5. I like your style! Although with many of your predictions you are keeping games at one score difference, kind of like an Indy Star sportswriter that doesn't want to offend any readers! I think Cathedral will be a double digit winner as will Westfield and Decatur Central. Carmel should be 7 points better than Trinity. If Avon has rebuilt their offensive line then they "should" be a double digit winner. But, the brother thing might keep this one a tossup. I'll be in the dome Friday catching the double header. I'm hoping Fishers can get back to where they were when they won state a few years ago. Here's hoping to a closer outcome vs. NC. Nice to see someone from HCC country contributing in this forum. I enjoy reading your insights!
  6. I would add until proven otherwise that Brownsburg and Avon are the best the HCC can provide. So we're talking the cream of the HCC vs. a rebuilding middle MIC team in Ben Davis. But, I'm never surprised when the Giants beat these Hendricks County rivals.
  7. Working fine today, thanks. Funny they put Ohio is the east instead of midwest. Would have significantly altered the ratings.
  8. Link doesn't work for me.
  9. But Cathedral had a winning record both years against Indiana high schools.
  10. I would be surprised if that happened. Surely there are many qualified candidates already on staff.

  12. "This will be the first season of existence for Bishop Sycamore as a school or as a football program as they are a start up non-charter school aimed at offering kids in the inner city of Columbus a better means at an education and also top level football. It appears Bishop Sycamore is a re-boot of the Christians of Faith (COF) Academy out of Columbus that played its first season last year as the same type of school. Last year as COF they played a loaded schedule including traditional Ohio powers Huber Heights Wayne, Cleveland St. Ignatius, and Lakewood St. Edward and such major out-of-state programs as North Alleghany in Wexford, Pennsylvania, and IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Last season, the Ohio High School Athletic Association ruled on September 21 that the COF Academy was no longer considered a school and would not count towards points in the Ohio state playoffs. They did however play out the majority of their remaining games, but finished with a 1-9 record against the daunting schedule." ..........Williamson, KY Daily News
  13. Per 24/7 sports he has committed to Notre Dame!
  14. IMHO, these are not goals, these are objectives........... which if accomplished would hopefully lead to the one goal every team should have....... to win a championship!
  15. The IHSAA is never going to change how the season ends.......... the 2-day state finals at Lucas Oil on Thanksgiving weekend. So changes would go backwards from there. Recent history has shown those mid-August games are brutal in the 90 degree heat and humidity........ perhaps if game times were pushed up by 60-90 minutes that would help. When the sun doesn't set until halftime there is just something wrong! I remember when I was in high school all games started at 8:00. Perhaps the later start would also help the visiting fans more time to travel?
  16. I'm sure Bryant Fitzgerald and Sampson James have been in his ear about IU. If healthy James is expected to play this season and Fitzgerald accomplished more than I thought he would as a red-shirt freshman. Avon has a reputation for producing good offensive lineman. On a side note, I noticed Brandon Peters, who announced he was leaving Michigan, is joining Illinois as a grad transfer so he will probably step right in as the starter at QB.
  17. Hey Center Grove, you might as well give up and join the HCC. That way DT can start all his posts out with something different.
  18. Well, he decommittted from OSU after being injured. IU knew what they were getting. I have no knowledge whatsoever but I assume the injury was repaired by surgery or time. If they redshirt him that will probably tell you something.
  19. When Avon's Sampson James was injured in the 2nd game of the season, he sat out a couple of games then played the rest of the season, but was just a shadow of himself. No lateral movement and a loss of what was blinding speed. It changed Avon from a semistate contender to an average team.
  20. They had a great chance in 2015....... double OT loss to CG in the semistate. IMHO, if played at Avon they would have won. That was Peters (QB) senior year. CG defeated Penn for the title. As far as talent, they do have a very good youth program, but the population boom and the escape from Indy to better schools and less crime is also a big factor.
  21. BD should be with Avon, Brownsburg and Pike. It just makes perfect sense geographically. However, your arguement holds little if no water. They are going to fight it out most years anyway, just a little sooner.
  22. It's my understanding that a school can petition to play up in classification if it so chooses. Otherwise, Snider's performance and enrollment decide what class they play.
  23. Couldn't find the totals either, but here is how the Kiser/Bell breakdown went: How Mr. Football is selected Sixty high school coaches vote for Mr. Football and the Mr. Football position award winners at the annual Indiana Football Coaches Association all-state meeting. There is one vote for each sectional and two at-large votes in each class. That comes out to 60 total votes — 10 for each class. Here is a breakdown of how each class voted between Kiser and Bell: Class A – Kiser 10, Bell 0 Class 2A – Kiser 9, Bell 1 Class 3A – Bell 4, Kiser 1 Class 4A – Kiser 3, Bell 3 Class 5A – Kiser 3, Bell 3 Class 6A – Bell 6, Kiser 4 And here is the story on how it will change next year: The voting process for IndyStar Indiana Mr. Football will change starting next season. The Indiana Football Coaches Association voted at its board meeting Friday to allow all members – coaches and assistant coaches – to have a Mr. Football vote. Previously, an IFCA ratings board of 60 -- 10 coaches in each of the six classes --voted for Mr. Football. Jason Simmons, the Ben Davis coach and assistant executive director for the IFCA, said the ratings board will select the Mr. Football finalists, which will be the top two for each of the Mr. Football position awards. Coaches will then have two or three days to vote electronically for Mr. Football. “We will leave the all-state meeting and send a ballot out that night or the next morning and then allow 48 or 72 hours to vote,” Simmons said. The previous voting process had been in place for about 15 years. Simmons said the decision to allow all coaches to vote is to make the process as transparent as possible “There is probably no perfect system, but I feel like we have been as progressive as any coaches association in the state,” Simmons said. “If there is a need for a change, we are going to attack it and adjust what we do. We felt like there was a need to change the voting system for Mr. Football.” The process became a topic of discussion in December when Pioneer’s Jack Kiser, a two-time state champion and Notre Dame recruit, was voted Mr. Football over Warren Central’s David Bell. Kiser had 30 votes to outdistance runner-up Bell of Warren Central’s 17 votes. Kiser was voted Mr. Football on 19 of the 20 ballots from Class A and 2A coaches.
  24. You must know this Artesian personally to know what he "meant". I did not read it that way. Threads tend to shift from the original statement and morph into something else. If I get "triggered" (probably an inappropriate term in this PC era) because of a thought I object, I'm not allowed to give opposing opinion?
  25. Right, because the MIC is the best conference, there is NO WAY ANY athletes at the other 400 or so schools could have the best player. I'm embarrassed for you.
