Time to believe folks!!!

28-0 Snider win, Panthers defense completely dominated this game. You could have played 8 quarters and Merrillville wasn’t scoring. Pirates defense was really good, but they got worn down by the middle of the 3rd quarter. For BTF, you really need to believe in your team brother. Merrillville’s offense wasn’t scoring on this defense unless they were given great field position, which they were with the muffed punt and they still didn’t score. Snider offense was methodical and wore down the Pirates. Buchanan was quiet, but still had 3 TD’s and Billingsley was lethal on the QB options throughout the game. Time to believe folks!!!

Snider 28 - Merrillville 0, final Panthers defense basically shut down the Pirates offense throughout the game. Rohrbacher for Snider had like 20 tackles and set the all time Snider record for career tackles, Logan had his 4th pick 6 of the year to seal the game. Merrillville’s defense was really good and kept them in the game until late 3rd quarter, but their offense just couldn’t move the ball. Buchanan for Snider had 3 TD’s though the Pirate defense did well on him. Billingsley hurt the Pirates continuously on QB keepers

I agree with you, while East Central has had a fabulous season, their schedule is creampuff central outside of Moeller. No way should they be #2 in anyone’s rankings

It was rainy and wet, it is one thing I do remember from many years ago as the bus ride ride home was extremely long being soaking wet and cold

With you on this, rings do matter. Don’t care that the Stiebling led team in 2015 was 5A champions, I will always believe the best 2 teams in the state that year were Snider and New Palestine, best game I have ever watched at the high school level

Ok, I was a freshman in 1981 and I went to the Snider/Carmel game. Think we had about 3 fan buses that went. It was cold and rainy, brutal weather, totally negated the speed advantage we had Dunbar team was fantastic, right at the top of all time best Panther teams

It did impact the game, personal foul, untimed down from the 7 yard line. In my opinion, Valpo would have scored a TD to win the game

Fair enough. When I think of the 1981 team with Woodson, the great mystery to me is that not only did they not win the state championship, but they lost 27-0 at Carmel in the pouring rain in semi-state if memory serves me correctly. I will never understand how that happened… What year was the Vaughn Dunbar team? I just can’t remember…

When thinking of the best all time teams at Snider, do the state title teams get special designation and move up the list or not? In my opinion, that hardware means something… Love this list!!! 1981 team featured all time great Rod Woodson

So I made a comment in the Luers vs LCC thread that this year’s Knights team wasn’t even in the top 15 of all time Luers teams so it got me thinking about this year’s Snider team and where they stack up all time amongst all time Snider teams. Wanted to go others thoughts on this…

No way the game is 42-39, defense is too good

Well, having read the region sports board from the link above, some quotes are out there: 1. Merrillville’s defense is far superior to Snider - Wow, that is quite a statement. Not sure what games that poster watched of Snider, but the Panthers defense is pretty good. Must be the 11 D-1 starters on defense for the Pirates… 2. Snider hasn’t seen speed like Merrillville - Uh, Snider plays plenty of speed teams. FYI, Snider has plenty of speed as well… 3. The real state title game was Valpo vs. Merrillville - Let’s see how that plays out… Pretty damn sure Snider isn’t going to lay down against the Pirates and whoever comes out of the South is pretty damn good as well… It is only Tuesday so let’s see what else is said from the Region…

Luers, when they have a really good team, has shown the ability to compete with and beat 4, 5, and 6A teams. That is not hyperbole, that is fact. This year’s team is not on that level, but they are able to compete with and beat 2A teams
