  1. They were also missing a starting OG who is also their best DL and their starting RB who ran for 325 against Brebeuf. Not sure if the RB will be back but the OG/DE has played in every game since.
  2. Well, Guerin is a soccer school more than they are a football school so I can see why they would treat football as a second class sport.
  3. Tippy reminded me a lot of Lawrenceburg from last year. Except they didn’t have that stud tackling machine at ILB. I’m still baffled by how many teams with good records can’t even run basic passing concepts. They might want to consider working on that instead of ground and pounding some poor 2A into a running clock.
  4. Last years regular season score was 31-30 Chatard and Guerin missed on a 2 pt conversion at the end of the game. The score of their playoff game was 49-13. I don’t think it will be as lopsided this year but I also don’t think Guerin scores more than 10 points this time. I would put my money on a healthy BCHS scoring more than 10. A healthy Chatard scores at least 28.
  5. It’s so clear now, @Titan32 is sad because his boy won’t get to win another state championship because they don’t have another Brady Allen at the helm. A truly gifted player and a generational talent at the 3A level. He should be proud of his one ring. You should be proud of your son. Hopefully your kid can go on to do great things in life and you can let go of the sadness.
  6. TV has some big kids and a few kids with speed. They played tough in the first quarter. The inability to pass (Int on their first real throw) and a fumble the only time they crossed the fifty (until late in the fourth against the BCHS back up defense) looked like it sapped their emotion. It seemed like the Chatard coaches made some defensive adjustments and I’m not sure if TV had 100 yards of offense until late in the fourth quarter (when the score was already 40-0). Their best RB was apparently in a boot for most of the week and I am sure that had an effect on their performance. On the other side of the ball, Chatard's starting QB was back after a 5 week absence and had to knock some rust off in the first quarter. After he settled down he threw two beautiful touchdown passes. The defense (the strength of this team) got stingy and the offensive line began to wear down the TV defense. They mixed throws and runs very effectively and a team will have to defend sideline to sideline against them as well as vertically. As I have said many times, it will take a very good offensive team to drive a ball the length of the field against this defense. They might give up a big play or two at some point but that will not be the norm. Offensively they have been pretty safe with the ball and haven’t self destructed (like the did against GC last year in the regular season). Look for next week to be BCHS 28-GC 0. Chatard will be entering the game healthy and their #1 RB may actually play (he has been out 6 weeks). Tonight their RB off the future, a freshman, carried the load on the last drive and scored his first varsity TD. This team is deep.
  7. So you are bragging that you have no rings? I moved here from a different state and just happened to have a brother in law who shared a back yard fence with the BCHS head coach. Didn't “buy” him anything but apparently God likes my son more than he likes you.
  8. And yet here you are, time and time again. It’s almost as if you have a secret crush on the Trojans and are dying for someone to invite you to the cool kids party. Us Chatard fans enjoy having you pop in regularly. After all, Jesus turned water into wine and you turn joy into whine. So close to being a miracle worker.
  9. Just a note on the level of talent at Chatard. Two years ago their punter was recruited by Oklahoma (he is no longer there). Last year they had two kids go to Dayton. This year Dayton has offered one of their kids and their best athlete is awaiting an offer to a particular D1 school. As is normal, most of their kids who continue playing end up at DePauw or Wabash. They have a receiver from a few years ago who walked on at Perdue and plays but, other than that I think the Martin boys were the last Power 5 recruits that came out of the school. Their success is based on numbers (which allows them to start very few kids both ways), coaching and being incrementally better than their opponent at enough positions to tilt the scales in the majority of their games. The whole is much better than the parts. That’s what is preached and that is how they play. There are a lot of kids on the team that will never see meaningful Friday night snaps but being a part of the team is important in the school culture. Interesting Note: Chatard’s QB from 2 years ago is at Alma and leads all college football (all levels) in passing efficiency. Caleb Williams is #2

  17. Make Carroll and NC play for capital letters. The winner gets the big letters and the loser has to use lower case. I was staring at so many spread sheets, print offs and calpreps pages that I am surprised that I didn’t make more errors by the time I was done posting.
  18. Rumor was that Elder’s starting QB was in a boot for most of the week. Chatard’s backup QB (who has been starting since the 4th play vs Guerin) has played well but was greatly assisted by the starting OL being back together for the first time since week 1. They manhandled Elders front 7. They were the real story of that game.
  19. If we can make all of the corrections in this thread then I will start individual corrected threads for each individual class under the title “Frozen Tundra Class A”’, “Frozen Tundra Class 2A’” etc. Hopefully we can save the discussions til then as long as we catch everything. Thanks for all of the help.
