I hope the Irish win, but only 4 teams have won 6A. Warren Central, Ben Davis, Center Grove and Carmel. Its probably time for Ben Davis to win state again.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams. Both teams played Winamac. LaVille beat Winamac 38-6 and LCC beat them 42-14. Should be a great game.

The East Central game wasn't fun. East Central will probably win state 47-0, just like they did tonight.

I don't know which LN shows up, but I remember in 1990 LCC played Indy Park Tudor the last game of the season on Sat. October 13 and lost 23-0. LCC then played Indy Park Tudor on Friday October 19 in the first round of sectionals and beat them 28-0. You just never know!

You never know what might happen when LCC plays at Seeger. Remember what happened in 1988.

I wanted to wish your son and Harrison good luck tonight. I hope Harrison wins, but if they don't, you can always say the system is broken and Plainfield should be in 6A. 🙂

You will need to talk to them if you want the classification process changed. If you let every school in the state decide what class they want to be in, that is changing the process.

Most people were happy with one class basketball. They should get rid of the success factor. Nobody seems to be in the right class. One class football might stop some of the whining.

Its looking better for LCC all the time. 🙂 I just hope LCC can beat Rochester.

Should be a great game! Rochester will have had two weeks to get ready. I think it will be a 14-13 type of game. Is Rochester going to throw the ball this year? They didn't throw the ball one time in the first half of last years game. The winner of this game has a great shot to make it to semi state.

It might be their 2nd best season in school history. In 1979 TV went 13-0 and won the 1A state title 44-14 over Hamilton SE. Their closest game that year was 26-7.

Guerin Catholic might have something to say about this. Chatard only beat them 13-7(OT) a few weeks ago.

I think you are right on the money. The winner of Rochester/LCC has a great shot to make it to semi state and will probably take on Luers. Luers is getting better and played very well against Homestead. I think the Rochester/LCC game will be a low scoring game, maybe 14-13 type of game. Luers will probably make it to state and take on Triton Central or Mater Dei.

There is not a 1 perspective limit. Its all good and you can "Oh my" any team or an area that you think needs it. 🙂

Its been 50 years since the playoffs started in 1973. From 1973-1997, 103 teams won championships. 47 of those teams were in and north of Lafayette. From 1998 to 2022, 135 teams won championships. 39 of those teams were in and north of Lafayette. 15 of those 39 championships were won by LCC and FW Luers. From 1973-1997 it looks like 8 teams south of Bargersville won state. From 1998-2022, 13 teams south of Bargersville won state. 4 of the 13 in the last 4 years. It looks like the far south is getting slightly better, and the Indy area is getting much better. And the north "OH MY"

The teams south of Bargersville seem to be getting better all the time. Evansville Mater Dei won state - 2000, 2022 Evansville Memorial won state - 2017 Linton won state - 2016 Heritage Hills won state - 2000 Evansville Reitz won state - 2007,2009 Columbus East won state - 2013, 2017 Jasper won state - 2001 East Central won state - 2022, probably 2023 Mt. Vernon (Fortville) won state - 2021 Gibson Southern won state - 2021 It did reach double digits. Many of the schools in and north of Lafayette were good for many years, and that doesn't seem to be true anymore. South Bend had some of the best teams in the state from the 1920's-1970's, and now look at them. Penn seems to have fallen off, and the list goes on and on. Indy might have a lot to do with that, but that is why the teams north of Lafayette get an "Oh My"
