  1. I thought of some more Catholics that ended up at Jeff or Harrison. Larry Larrabee - Assistant basketball coach at Jeff in the 1980's. His son Mike also played basketball at Jeff in the late 1980's. Tim Rody - Played football at Jeff 1981-1982. The Yeoman twins - Basketball stars on the Harrison girls team 1985-1986. Vince and Andrew Harris- Played football at Jeff in the 1990's. Here are some other names. I don't know if they played sports, but they were Catholic and went to Jeff. Vince Larrabee Jennifer Dillard Mike Petgen Rebecca Knoy Brian Clark Autumn Sowders I am sure I will think of more names later.
  2. Lafayette Jefferson Football Team 1981 The 1981 Jeff team went 11-1 and lost to FW Snider 18-17 in the regional Members of that team Troy Bonty Bob Mulvey Gary Russell Doug Cowen Tim Rife Joe Downing Scott Schilling Mike Burkle James Weaver Ken Flanagan Tom Kriebel Tim Rody Darin Pattick Todd Brost Kevin Cox Joe Finch Mike Trout Roger Funk Davy Crickett Vince May Stu Skibinski Manager Kevin Hildenbrand Doug Butz Brad Berry Eric Rawe Mark Withers Randy Griswold Jay Bota Brad Kabig Larry Grant Roger Guinn Dave Sutton Bently Anderson Todd Tyrie Kenny Gordon Doug Downing Kim Hawley Darryl Sutton Mark Keiser Tony Albrecht Coach Bob Downing Coach Dick Skibinski Head Coach Dave Knott
  3. I'm not sure about them. Bob Downing was Catholic and was assistant football coach and head coach from 1985-1994 at Jeff. His sons Joe and Doug Downing played at Jeff from 1979-1982. Paul "Spider"Fields was the baseball coach at Jeff for many years and his teams won state in 1969 and 1973. Paul was Catholic. The 1992 Jeff basketball team went to state and lost in OT. Courtney Harris and Brad Knoy were Catholic and were both stars on that team. Carson Harris went to St. Lawrence grade school and was the best player on the 1996 Jeff basketball team that went to the final four. Chris Deno was Catholic and played football for Harrison on the 1989 and 1990 teams. Jason Sowders went to St. Lawrence and played football for Jeff in 1991 and 1992. He was their best D player. These are just some of the names off the top of my head.
  4. I know Lafayette Jeff can thank the Catholics for a lot of their success in sports over the years. When Jeff went 10-0 in 1981 and 1982, the best player on those teams was Catholic. There is a list a mile long of Catholics playing sports at Jeff.
  5. Some Lafayette Central Catholic Football players from 1993. Tom Vaughan Nick Rooze John Blye Matt Buche John Bush Kevin Sanson Tony McCloud Steve Redinbo John Shireman Mark Elsner David Montgomery Jamie Pearson Donavan Yarnall Scott Muncy (1st year football coach)
  6. Some Lafayette Jeff Football players from 1993 Ryan Cole Nyles Lehnen Tom Dixon Jeremy Jarrard Will Clampitt Neal Biggs Rick Lester Ryan Fischer Tom Mulder Richard Coolman Chad Bowyer Andrew Greer Ashley Barrett
  7. Indianapolis Shortridge Football 1927 (record 9-2) 0 Stivers (Dayton, Ohio) 12 20 Lebanon 7 33 Sheridan 0 14 Richmond 6 33 Noblesville 0 14 Elwood 13 19 Indy Tech 0 25 Indiana Boys Prep 0 40 Bloomington 7 33 Indy Manual 0 0 Gary Froebel 70 (played Thanksgiving Day)
  8. What do you want to happen? Have all the p/p's kicked out the Ihsaa? Move all of them up to 5a and 6a? What do you think would be fair?
  9. Wow! You sure do know the history. I am not going to say any more about it. My uncle was in the LCC class of 59. Went two years to Jeff and two years to LCC
  10. Of course they aren't going to do that, but that is what some people want.
  11. They are going to fix it! They are going to move all the p/p's to 6a and if they win in 6a they will kick them out of the Ihsaa just like they did to Cathedral and other Catholic schools until 1942.
  12. What year did LCC start their youth program? I know you were involved with the youth program for years and did a great job.
  13. Thanks! I didn't want to look up the numbers. One of the winning seasons was 1987 when LCC went 7-4 and lost 42-0 in the sectional to Frontier. I guess the advantages for LCC didn't start until 2009.
  14. What year did these advantages start? LCC didn't win anything in football from 1977-1998. They had one good team during that time. I never heard anyone say anything about advantages in the 1970's and 1980's.
  15. It's only boring to some people because their team didn't win. Nobody ever says anything about Center Grove going for their 3rd in a row.
  16. Let's go back to 3 classes. That would be better than what we have now. Some people are never going to be happy until the p/p's don't win anymore.
  17. They should get rid of the success factor. It's a big mess, and some of the P/P's are still able to win.
  18. I don't like the success factor. Everyone seems to be in the wrong class.
  19. BTF knows I don't mean anything by that. I think I gave him a hard time about this before. I know he wants someone from Fort Wayne to win really bad, and there is nothing wrong with that. 🙂
  20. Andrean is the favorite, but its hard to beat the same team 2 years in a row at state. Chatard is in the north, but they are in Indy.
  21. You better hope Carroll wins next week because they might be the only team north of Indy that does win. The game last night reminds me of 2015 when Penn beat Carmel 16-10 and then lost to Center Grove 28-16. Carroll has never been to state and Center Grove is there every year, that might make a difference. Carroll could be like a deer in the headlights. It's hard to beat Center Grove because of the way they play.
  22. What are some of the worst weather games in Indiana high school football history? It will be about 24 degrees at game time at WL tonight. I can't remember anything this cold at game time for an Indiana high school football game since 1991.
  23. I know you have been to a lot of high school games through the years. Is this going to be one of the top 10 coldest games ever for an Indiana high school football game? 24 degrees at WL when the game starts.
  24. Memorial and Linton have never played in Football. Memorial did play Cathedral in the 1920's and 30's.
