  1. I don't know if Rudy wants box scores, but I have all the box scores for Lafayette Jeff, LCC, some for Frankfort and Harrison (WL), and some for other schools.
  2. It might have been because Lafayette Jeff fired coach and teacher, Fritz Grosshans in 1925. Jeff students went on strike in February 1925, and for several days the students skipped school. The students had signs that said "We want a New school Board"
  3. Thank you Ballhawk! This is awesome info! I didn't know they played the IU Freshmen team, and they beat the Wabash B team. Its funny that they have a winning record against Carmel and not against Noblesville.

  5. You might be right about Osceola Grace beating Twin Lakes. Everyone in the Hoosier Conference should be worried. Bad football seems to be spreading all over northern Indiana. I know SB will be good again someday, just like they were 50 years ago.
  6. I'm glad you will fix it. I hate to see things that bad up there. They had some great teams in SB back in the day.
  7. The public schools in South Bend have gone from the top to the bottom. Twin Lakes is the worst team in the Hoosier Conference and they beat SB Clay 46-8. Some Home schools could probably beat the SB public schools in football. Is it ever going to get better up there?
  8. I think most would agree that these teams will win their sectional. Cathedral Warren Central Center Grove Merrillville Northwood New Palestine Norwell Evansville Mater Dei Park Tudor Adams Central Sheridan North Decatur Indy Lutheran Are there any other teams?
  9. 1981 Lafayette Jefferson Football The regional playoff game was at Jeff with 5200 fans on hand. This crowd was the largest to witness a football game in Tippecanoe County since Jeff met West Lafayette in Ross-Ade stadium in the early 1950's. Jeff was playing 11-0 FW Snider. Jeff had a 10-0 halftime lead after Tony Albrecht kicked at 32 yard field goal. Jeff's Joe Downing returned the 2nd half kick off 90 yards for a td and Jeff was up 17-0. Snider then shut Jeff down. Jeff gained only 16 yards rushing and 22 yards passing in the 2nd half. Snider's 2nd string QB, Archie Lunsey, threw a 34 yard td pass to Geoff Williams with 1:26 to go in the game and Snider was up 18-17. Doug Downing threw a pass intended for brother Joe, but the pass was intercepted and the game ended. 1981 was probably Jeff's best chance to make it to state.
  10. I don't know if Andrean is the best in 2a, but Lutheran might be able to beat Luers and Andrean, and they are not even in 2a. 🙂
  11. The Hoosier Conference seems to be down this year, but at least Benton Central is getting better. BC beat Twin Lakes for the first time since 2012. Looking forward to the RC/LCC game. I think LCC will win by a point. WL will score at least 40 points on everyone they play until sectionals.

WL beat Monticello 72-0 and played them again.

This shows how good South Bend Washington was that year. South Bend and Gary had the best teams in the state during the 1940's, and now look at them.
  16. Yeah, you should probably focus on West Lafayette. If LaVille does play Andrean it should be a good game. I think LaVille could beat LCC and Rensselaer this year. Do you think Andrean is going to win state again? If LCC can't win, I guess it might as well be Andrean.
  17. What would the score be if LaVille played Rensselaer? LaVille 47 Pioneer 8 Lewis Cass 16 Pioneer 0 I said that come sectional time Andrean could beat LaVille. Maybe the teams in the Hoosier Conference are not very good. It looks like LaVille could beat most of them.
  18. I had to pick LaVille or Andrean in Sectional 33 and right now it looks like LaVille might be a little better. That could change by sectional time and Andrean might beat LaVille.

  20. The most disappointing night for Tippecanoe County! November 4, 1988 - Sectional Championships There was heavy rain in Indiana and conditions were not good. Harrison (WL) was at Logansport and Frontier was at LCC Logansport 11 Harrison 8 (3ot) game played in the mud Harrison 0-0-0-0-8-0-0 Logansport 0-0-0-0-8-0-3 Frontier 14 Central Catholic 6 (game played in a driving rain) LCC 0-6-0-0 Frontier 0-8-6-0
  21. I think LCC can win Sectional 34, but I don't think they can beat LaVille. I hope they make it to state, but LCC has been giving up a lot of points. I want to see how we do against Tipton on Friday.
  22. Right now it looks like it will be LaVille and Luers up north and Scecina and Linton down south. I'm not sure if Luers is a top team, but it will probably be Luers and Linton for state. But this could change.
