  1. Addressed briefly on GameDay lol
  2. lol And a reply lol
  3. Basically a few days left for some reason to decide on any changes to the playoff system. The only holdup to expanding to the 16 team playoff is the B1G Commissioner wants the field to expand to 24 teams with more automatic qualifiers, and eliminate conference championship games. The SEC is against eliminating the conference championship game. With the size of the conferences, I get the notion behind automatic qualifiers. With the size of the conferences, you have more teams that don't play each other to determine clear cut places like what we saw with the ACC. But the problem you run into with AQs is forced matchups that don't match the rankings like what we saw with Tulane and James Madison this season. I still believe 16 is enough and there is no reason to expand to 24.
  4. lol
  5. Another crazy game....wow
  6. Tough to watch the Patriots Texans game. It was fugly. The number of turnovers in the 2 Texans playoff games is crazy; not good football at all. CJ Stroud looked uncomfortable and not confident all game.
  7. I think the TV folks on every network were catching heat from the league about disagreeing with calls on the field too much. It’s been clear the last couple of years they are more supportive of the calls made.
  8. Seattle has dominated every phase of the game tonight. Impressive performance by them. So the road to Santa Clara goes through Seattle in the NFC.
  9. I did not see that. I assumed it was on the kneel down with that being the play everyone is posting.
  10. This is crazy…..did this when he took a knee to set up the game winning FG
  11. The DPI was clearly the right call in OT, but I have seen this happen in several games this year. Apparently holding the arm of a receiver is allowed more than it is called.
  12. I agree. I hate that the standard for two guys on the same play is so significantly different. This is a catch in my mind too. He hit the ground being the player in control of the ball.
  13. This is absolutely f***ing ridiculous.
  14. Dang Bills miss again….geeez…crazy game.
  15. Hoooray for mediocrity, amirite?
  16. The interwebs never disappoint
  17. Getting all psychological here…….the part of the brain where decision making occurs does not fully develop until a person is about 22 years old. Adult brains access the frontal lobe to do so. Prior to that, the temporal lobe is where kids and teens access theirs. We are putting kids in positions to make grown up decisions that can impact them for years to come. With no control whatsoever regarding agents, many of these players have been manipulated into entering the portal with promises of big paydays. I am sure that parents and guardians played a big part for many of them as well. So many of them now are likely just left out of the game.
  18. I am convinced:
  19. 1. Had they met in the playoff, I think the result would be different. I think of how Ohio State played during the regular season last year and cranked it up in the playoffs. I see IU in the same light now. Funny that in both instances, both teams smoked Oregon after a close regular season game. 2. The ACC went all out the last two weeks of the season to promote Miami, especially the last 48 hours of conference championship weekend. They were definitely in the conversation, and I think they were always in. Maybe folks on the committee deny that, but the shift in the rankings with two weeks ago sent the message. 3. Cannot argue that point, but I do think IU is that good.
  20. Also remember the effort that the ACC put into promoting Miami to ensure they made the playoff. And this is Miami’s way of saying thank you? They had the reputation of being the dirtiest program back in the Jimmy Johnson era. Does this set them up as the dirtiest in this free for all era?
  21. Miami basically saying F you to the ACC. Remember the ACC said Miami did not have to share the playoff cash with the other conference teams, the first conference to do such a thing.
  22. The math ain't mathin'
  23. How long can MLB continue on its current path? While Tucker is making $60 Million, The Dodgers are so far over with the luxury tax that they are paying 110% of the value of player contracts. So they will be paying $66 Million, for a whopping $126 Million. That combination alone is higher than what 11 teams spend on their entire roster.
  24. Another angle on the previous post.
