  1. I hope not. The other officers were complicit, and there are issues with the department that need to be cleaned up as you pointed out in the previous post.
  2. How about the guy not drive his knee into the neck of the man he had in cuffs? That said, I do think a more immediate arrest could have kept things from escalating to the point it did with the protests.
  3. Just a list of people and the things they did when their lives were taken from them. Oh yeah, they do have one thing in common.
  4. More perspective: There are several of these where many more names could be added to each category. We can’t go jogging (#AmaudArbery). We can’t relax in the comfort of our own homes (#BothemSean and #AtatianaJefferson). We can't ask for help after being in a car crash (#JonathanFerrell and #RenishaMcBride). We can't have a cellphone (#StephonClark). We can't leave a party to get to safety (#JordanEdwards). We can't play loud music (#JordanDavis). We can’t sell CD's (#AltonSterling). We can’t sleep (#AiyanaJones) We can’t walk from the corner store (#MikeBrown). We can’t play cops and robbers (#TamirRice). We can’t go to church (#Charleston9). We can’t walk home with Skittles (#TrayvonMartin). We can’t hold a hair brush while leaving our own bachelor party (#SeanBell). We can’t party on New Years (#OscarGrant). We can’t get a normal traffic ticket (#SandraBland). We can’t lawfully carry a weapon (#PhilandoCastile). We can't break down on a public road with car problems (#CoreyJones). We can’t shop at Walmart (#JohnCrawford) . We can’t have a disabled vehicle (#TerrenceCrutcher). We can’t read a book in our own car (#KeithScott). 5. Perspective is interesting...... Next task...search the story about exactly WHO started the destruction in the rioting.
  6. Keep telling yourself that. It is not really accurate, but ok.
  7. I will add; as far as Dr. King is concerned. Would you believe the police response in both situations should have been the same then?
  8. Sure they are; and the biggest difference just may be the skin color of those protesting????? But there are also similarities between the two, and responses to those situations, regardless of where they occur, need to be addressed. But no one here wanted to point out the issues with the armed protests. In fact, the only things I saw were support for them here. Yelling and screaming, while heavily armed inside a State Capitol? Absolutely....is sitting on the ground while being a minority a violent act?
  9. Being the target of the comment; just exactly how is it juvenile to compare to other riots or protests? As someone who has been called out for being "selective" in my criticism by others; I was merely pointing to other riots that have occurred, and excluding the tea party one, that the other riots were never brought up here. I also added the disclaimer at the beginning of the post that I do not condone. Now that I have been called out again. I wonder what exactly was the point of posting about the riots at all? No posts about the murder of Floyd; in fact, the first comment made was AFTER a post about the rioting. I have also noticed that no one addressed the differences in protests I made in a follow up post. How is it that heavily armed militia and protesters can go inside a Statehouse (an illegal act) and yell and scream in the face of law enforcement, while many innocent protesters (excluding the looters and others causing destruction) were tear gassed and attacked by law enforcement in full riot gear (something law enforcement at various Statehouses apparently did not need).
  10. I think I am being targeted now. 😄 https://allstarview.com/products/apollo-space-rocket-lamp?fbclid=IwAR1rXE9rnc-_lOu50KKgjCbTd3EXV6NYQdX4TXFmdqpw9_KWjikPueX0xmg
  11. https://www.forbes.com/sites/robtoews/2020/05/25/deepfakes-are-going-to-wreak-havoc-on-society-we-are-not-prepared/?fbclid=IwAR37FEHW226oAZUajo7c3hMwNYsS6-FdyXHJHKM2D-Gonuw46ztmjy4crDg#7b9d00fe7494 FTA: "Several deepfake videos have gone viral recently, giving millions around the world their first taste of this new technology: President Obama using an expletive to describe President Trump, Mark Zuckerberg admitting that Facebook's true goal is to manipulate and exploit its users, Bill Hader morphing into Al Pacino on a late-night talk show." Potentially some problematic issues with this technology.
  12. On a similar note; how does this guy and his friends get away with this (armed; heavily armed INSIDE the Statehouse mind you)? But these unarmed protesters get tear gassed?
  13. Not condoning the riots at all; buuuuuuuuuut
  14. That will be one question I am NOT asking next school year. 🤣
  15. Having been a lifelong Peanuts fan, I think this is an awesome idea, and will likely be spending some dough here. https://ikonick.com/collections/peanuts?utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=UN_DR_US_EN_Peanuts_CostCap&utm_content=UN_DR_US_CA_EN_Con_DTM_Auto_Peanuts_7DC1DV_A2265%2B&utm_term=VID_MOUNTAINGETBACKON_1&WickedSource=Facebook&WickedID=23844850460310372
  16. Sorry....still not seeing what you are seeing. If she said something along the lines of “so by all means, you keep taking it Mr. President” as a following up, that would be considered mocking. All she said was they claim.....
  17. I get that, but the post I replied to made the effort to point out some level of hypocrisy. If they were both taking the drug for the same reason, a preventative measure, then that point would be valid. But, as it is, there is no case for anyone being a hypocrite here.
  18. Taking it for treatment of the virus and taking it as a preventive measure are two COMPLETELY different things.
  19. Just wait until someone tells them they can't get in free. 😄 They will have to shout from outside.
  20. I have long respected Eisenhower, as a General in WWII and as a President. I remember finding this article recently when talking with friends about him. http://centerforpolitics.org/crystalball/articles/the-underrated-eisenhower-coalition/http://centerforpolitics.org/crystalball/articles/the-underrated-eisenhower-coalition/
  21. To be fair, Joe has had a LOT more time in public office to pile up the stats on gaffes. The ones in the video I posted from his 88 campaign are classic.. 😀 Now, if we want to compare the quality of the gaffes.....could be fun. 😂
  22. It is hard telling from that story who went first. Did Trump decide to not have the ceremony? Or did Obama refuse to go first?
  23. Feelings are not hurt at all. I read the original feedback; disagreed with it and stated my reasoning for doing so. I gave you feedback on your feedback, and you keep responding. I am not complaining about it at all. I am simply clarifying the critical point in your feedback. You claimed there was bias in who I choose to give feedback to. I pointed out the flaws in your thinking (feedback). That is it; nothing more. I am a moderator; so now you and Howe get to set the standards for how moderators are supposed to behave? As I replied to him, Muda is a moderator as well. You gonna call him out too?
