Every step along the way the last two years, there were questions about the IU program. I know it was a 3 loss Alabama team, but are there really any questions left? Or is the belief now that this team can win a championship? Or, what is the next “can they…?” question?

Was messaging my brothers….I don’t get the fascination with that play. Even IU ran it early and almost paid for it. Even in the NFL, it’s one of my biggest criticisms of LaFleur. Defenses are built for speed, and plays like that play right into the hands of the defense. Even the 4th and short early, Alabama ran wide instead of straight ahead. It has happened in so many games this year.

And slowly drive that dagger in, just like they did the last couple of drives working them over and running clock.

No doubt....Herbstreit talked about that in detail about folks watching Indiana in this spot. I said it in another post, IU's success has saved the college game in this current environment....for however long the game lasts.

Cannot be much different than throwing against Valentine of Nixon. Nixon has made one play this season, and in his mind, it justifies all he does as a corner with the stupid risks he takes.

This is where Cignetti earns that boost in his contract. He said something about the time off at media day. He might be the only coach who can get a bye team to focus and start fast. I do think if 1 or 2 more of the teams with a bye lose tomorrow, there will be a strong push to expand to 16 teams so everyone is playing that first week.

With no pass rush, even the best corners in the league will struggle.

One year ago, from D1 thru D3, there were 2,700 players who entered the portal. Only 30% were considered to have upgraded from where they came from. This year, that 3,300 number is D1 players alone.

No problem My issue is there may be a point she has to fire people. So it all looks more like a control thing, and it will make hiring another coach more difficult. I hear nothing but good things about her as a person, and thought it was cool she bought drinks for everyone in the bar in Germany. My criticism is her approach as an owner. Is she close to firing Steichen? Ballard needs to first. I think Steichen showed what can be done if that roster is healthy.

Cannot disagree with that, but I am thinking from the standpoint of the new contract ESPN has with them.

Listening to Saban on McAfee today. We talk about it often, and he has been vocal about there being a lot wrong with the college game. But he even ventured into college athletics as a whole. He pointed to the guy who was drafted in the NBA that is going to be playing college basketball. If he played in the NBA, he should not be allowed to play college ball. To me that particular thing is not a huge issue. I know college hockey and baseball players have been drafted and still choose to play at the collegiate level. They will even play in minor/developmental leagues before they play in college. In the case of baseball, there are summer leagues players will play in. Now, college football is a different animal. With all that is wrong, what we are seeing is the usual suspects are rising to the top, except for 1. While Texas Tech has had a breakout year, they play in the Big 12. Maybe I am a bit of a homer, but my opinion is one team has kept fan interest up in this new era. Love them or hate them, IU is the program that has saved college football. For now anyway! Yep, I said it lol. But, people are watching. And people are talking. I will admit, especially this season, if IU is not in the picture, I would have very little interest in the playoff. There are a LOT of people who say the same thing. Whether people want them to win or lose, both groups are watching them. The B1G had the largest viewing audience of a conferencer championship game ever.
