  1. I was a student at IUPUI, and he was a guest speaker in one of my classes. He could have gone on for hours. It was a great class. He did mention that when he met with the Principal, AD and Superintendent, they asked what he needed. He said we need to go visit Chuck Stephens at Franklin Central. They had recently been a State champion 3 years in a row. They looked at the weight room, and saw that he was actually teaching a class and DD looked at his administrators and said THAT is what we need. They did not even blink and said done. The rest is history. And his fee for that day? A large bag of popcorn from the concession stand at the Natatorium. To this day, he goes out of his way to say hello, and ask how I am doing....and I was a senior at WC his first year and BD. I can only imagine how well he treats people he likes. 😃
  2. lol...ok, but your original point was about Dullaghan...he had moved on before that point as well, to Purdue and West Point. He came to BD for the 84 season. Really not sure why you continue to reply; your original point is long lost.
  3. ????? Ok, they were still in a conference, but every team was put into a cluster with a few teams; Conferences were not a consideration when the clusters were put together. If you won your cluster, you went to the playoffs in 83 and 84. Not sure what your point is, or even what you are attempting with the post; but seriously, let it go. Your point was not a good one; and yet you dig in even further.
  4. Ok...so that MAY account for HALF the schedule. And your original point, as weak as it was, was based on qualifying for the playoffs. That ended prior to the 1985 season. Add to that they were put in a cluster in 1983 and 1984....not really under their control what cluster they were in. AND, My focus was the OUT of conference schedule. Probably should have quit while you were behind though.
  5. I would not say they "packed their schedule" with clods. Part of the point system was strength of schedule. It was tougher to qualify in 3A, because you could not really play up. You had to either go undefeated, or maybe lose 1 game a year to qualify for the playoffs. Their out of conference schedule still had them playing teams like Warren Central, North Central, and Chatard; all solid teams back then.
  6. The AD asked me to post this link here as well. https://fwcs.tedk12.com/hire/ViewJob.aspx?JobID=945
  7. One of our coaches, a Lions fan is saying the word is that Goff is trade bait as well; to get even more picks.
  8. Rams gave up too much. While this is an upgrade from Goff, no first round picks for 3 season? Your o line AND d line need help now as well, and the run game was ok. This could work out well for the Lions....hopefully not too well.
  9. Well, this should get Eagles fans excited lol https://twitter.com/adamlefkoe/status/1355234085870956553?s=21
  10. My guess is that connections with friends in other parishes, or even family are more of a factor for those types of moves. All that said, the reality is that the success these programs have make them attractive programs from kids all around town. Basically, the programs recruit themselves.
  11. Again, recruiting is acceptable...are you saying they did something that falls under undue influence?
  12. Rodgers is likely to stay put. I am a bigger fan of Mark Murphy after this quote: "We're not idiots. Aaron Rodgers will be back. He's our leader," https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2928415-packers-mark-murphy-says-aaron-rodgers-will-return-in-2021-were-not-idiots.amp.html?fbclid=IwAR3LSpSw-hRGTMJaA8q-0vcHA_p2gVxuSLWU_kdN7rXfnAjS-5_dvfLIPZU
  13. Is this an airport? Bus or train station? I never understand the mindset of people wanting to announce their departures from social media sites....lol For a guy that hates what he calls the "bro culture" or the "look at me" type athletes; creating a "look at me" topic is not only funny, but ironic.
  14. I mentioned our camp in my first reply...Trai Essex sponsors the camp. It is run by our high school staff at New Haven, and is open to kids in the community, but we are not allowed to have current high school players because it is just our staff. I also work the Northeast Indiana Skills Camp that is junior high and high school level. It is a mix of coaches from various programs. The only restriction there is to keep from coaching more than a couple of kids from our own programs. The notion that they can draw from the entire State is a bit much. If Chatard were doing things at their camp like offering tuition money, promising playing time, etc. then it is a problem. If they are just coaching position skills, agility drills, etc., then there is nothing wrong with them having the camp. As far as how you were contacted, I have a difficult time believing that Chatard somehow subscribes to a service that supplies random email addresses from the Central Indiana area. From past experience coaching and teaching in Catholic schools, the IHSAA did tell those schools specifically that cold contacting......mail, email, and phone calls out of the blue with parents and/or athletes who had no prior contact, was not allowed; soooooooooo
  15. My guess is that the large schools in the Indy area have enough kids attending from their own district, they don't really want to advertise outside of it. If you are getting emails from those schools, you either attend a parish, or have shown an interest on some level......for them to have your email address means you have given it to the school sending you the camp info. As far as kids outside a district; we have done that with our Essex Camp.....I even post on Facebook, inviting friends to send their kids.
  16. Rodgers said in his post game interviews that his future in Green Bay was uncertain. It bugs me in a couple of ways. One, the front office should do everything it can to keep him. You are one of the few favorites to win it all next year. If the call is Rodgers; I cannot think of a better situation for him. There is not a receiver, in my mind, better than Adams. You have one of THE best offensive lines in the league.....if they are healthy. Sure there are things that can be fixed, but the pieces are definitely in place. Going somewhere else means starting over; new playbook, new teammates and coaches.......just don't think he would be as successful any where else.
  17. what ifffffff....A A Ron decides he will not return to Green Bay? I don't know why he would decide that, but he said that his future in Green Bay is uncertain.
  18. I remember thinking during the game last week that KC played dirty. Sure enough, it is showing up here.
  19. Even with a 9-0 lead, I am not sure there was any real doubt that KC would get it going. They have not really been threatened.
  20. Oh, I am PO'd about a lot of things. That TD before the half is one....keep the play in front of you. If he catches it; ok, the clock would run out. But also PO'd because the Bucs should not have had the ball there. The hold on the interception was worse than the call at the end. Also PO'd about Amos, a freaking safety, letting a TE run by him in the end zone on the Bucs first TD of the 2nd half......like DUDE, you are a SAFETY; who the hell is behind you to pick him up?
  21. And Brady is gifted another shot at a super bowl....what a horse shit call. All the holding they let go all game, and now they decide to throw a flag? F that.
  22. Packers put together a nice drive to score. Defense needs stops the rest of the way though.
  23. Arians got smart when he turned the play calling over to Brady earlier in the season.
  24. This is going to get ugly quick.....Green Bay defense is NOT playing well. Way too many wide open receivers and getting beat deep.
  25. Rough start for the Packers. Bucs defense is playing aggressive and it is paying off so far. I am not sure why Pettine felt that Sullivan on Evans, or even just having Sullivan in press coverage was a good idea.
